Title I Don't Love You Yet Spoiler
I have watched this with Chinese subtitles and they translated this line of Ren's to "I can't love you yet." which…
Yeah I think the same. They have different reasons for not being with each other. Yo's is definitely her perspective on what she thinks love should be, and her character is like that in all the adaptations. It's her fantasy of love that keeps Ren out of the discussion, like how she liked the younger co-worker just because he was like "prince charming" who came and saved the day, or the ex who in previous renditions was her first love and therefore "the only one", it's like a shallow juvenile way of judging love, rather then looking for someone who supports you, accepts all of you etc. (like our home boy Ren does) if that makes sense XD
With the exboyfriend, you can tell Ren really loves Yo because rather then being upset about her being with another man (which I'm sure he felt a bit), he was more upset that she was changing herself into something she wasn't and suffering over it.
Anyway, I love all of the dialogue in this show, Japan's flair of introspective dialogues/characters really adds to the story. Scenes like when the young fiance of her 2nd ex-boyfriend was so cool about them bad-mouthing him and wanting to drink together, proving that she's pretty harmless and sweet, makes this show interesting to watch LOL

If Yo and Ren don't end up together then that will be the greatest plot twist of all time and I'd deem that a sad ending, because they obviously are only capable of loving each other and will suffer settling for anyone else who's considered "not bad". But that totally won't happen or I'll chuck my laptop out the window lol, I really like the older sister's lectures too, especially that one. I also liked how she mentioned that on the other side of the spectrum of "not bad" there are people who are seriously flawed and yet you can't help but love them anyway. Ren thought of Yo's problematic ex when she said that, but I think it also applies to Yo, who acts very strong and confident around other people, but to Ren is kind of a mess LOL. Speaking of that, we've seen Yo's big break-down where she needed Ren, so I'm now waiting for some conflict where Ren can only rely on Yo. I mean we've seen it already when he asks for advice, im just talking about something big.

ive seen one ep so i cant judge anything yet, but the costumes are sooooooooo pretty. Like wow. Some of the most detailed costume designs ive seen in a long time, the sets seem to be really intricate too.

Title I Don't Love You Yet Spoiler
I have watched this with Chinese subtitles and they translated this line of Ren's to "I can't love you yet." which…
yeah, i think "i can't love you yet" describes his position pretty well ahah. Yeah, I also see it as like the chant he tells himself to keep going lol, like how one would say "I'm still able to keep going!", "im still capable of not loving her! I can still hold out for longer" which he thinks during times he catches himself slipping, for example, his confrontation with the ex-boyfriend in the latest episode. Not that anything he says will be very helpful, the last episode kept talking about "limits". Everyone has a limit to how much they can take. Like Ren's older sister said, they'll either eventually become a couple, or never talk to each other again.

Agree. Both are playful with each other. Its a pity that most of their scenes are being deleted from final cut.
wait, theyre getting cut? why? is it because they don't have enough time to show everything or...?

Title I Don't Love You Yet Spoiler
after watching the last episodes it seems the title of this show is a little phrase Ren constantly tells himself to keep his feelings in check (whether he actually believes what he's saying or not doesn't seem to be the point haha) but I think the translation or "feel" that is "I don't love you, yet" doesn't quite fit the original phrase that well. Using my basic japanese I don't really know how to word it either, but he's pretty much saying that "the act of not loving you, i can still do it." which to me sounds almost like a motivational chant or something to convince himself to not fall for her. I don't know how to word it poetically or whatever in english, but something close to, "i'm still able to not love you" or "not loving you, I can still do it!" or "im still capable of not loving you" oooh, that sounds sort of nice lol. anyway, he's not implying that he isn't in love with with her yet but it's only a matter of time , like the real english title, he's saying he can still, to this point, not love her. anyway, im not japanese or anywhere near fluent lol, so if someone who is would like to correct me or whatever, please do!

One of the hardest first read synopsis' I can ever remember reading.
omg lol. i literally was like.... what did i just read.
On My First First Love Season 2 Jul 28, 2019
i think taeoh's personality suited songyi's more in the end of it all. Even if you ignore the fact that they've known each other for longer and have a "history" that can't be erased, songyi grew up pretty neglected and has issues with abandonment. Someone like Taeoh who is very good at expressing himself would make her feel comfortable as opposed to dohyun who isn't the best at showing how he feels and you could tell even though songyi liked being with dohyun before she understood her real feelings, she was always insecure

this was super cute and the perfect university coming-of-age type of story with adorable couples and enough emotional scenes to make you feel warm inside. I really enjoyed this series. also the ost was like the best thing ever, and the cinematography was really really pretty like woah

Title Love O2O
omg, please dont think all slice of life dramas are like this one XD I hope it didn't put you off them lol, if…
haha sure. Btw, im by no means saying these dramas are 100% flawless and perfect in every way, but they really touched my heart and I also feel like their production quality is pretty high too so I hope you try some of them out :)

Well from all that I've seen I 100% suggest 'Put your Head on my Shoulder' because it's pretty much the sweet romance that loveo2o fails to be lol and it's just hella hella cute. Awkward science major meets bubbly female lead. I think everyone loves this uni drama, so not just my own opinion.

I also adored taiwan's "Love and pi" because it was so realistic (especially as TW dramas aren't dubbed) The acting was really raw which emphasised the emotional 'friends to lovers' story and I was so impressed lol. The main characters are from the same orphanage and they move to the big city for uni (and later work) and chase their dreams. The story is very "them vs the world" Tbh I can't even tell if I'm biased or not because it literally made me feel so much and I rooted for all the characters because they were so flawed and lovable at the same time. The soundtrack was also so good. Did i mention their acting already??? aha.

Others I also found really good:
'With You', a classic with really nice cinematography and gorgeous storytelling and acting (hello, Liu Haoran lol) The two main characters are bickering HS desk mates and it shows the struggles and joy of youth (note tho, that I found the 2nd lead a bit.. unnecessary to the plot, but Id still defs suggest this show)

'Suddenly this summer', I actually prefer the FL's personality in this one compared to With You. Her acting steals the show. Another great realistic show that spans from HS to university.

And to get away from ones everyone knows, 'Wait up, my youth' also known as 'My Youth (2019)' is another HS to uni with a badboy, good girl deskpartner arrangement but it was really really cute and was super addictive with great acting.
Anyway, these three have similar settings so I wouldn't watch them right after each other aha but after watching a heap of this genre, these are really the only I'd recommend lol. Anyway, hope I helped a bit, its only my own opinion of course aha. (btw, I've never seen an older adult/work business type of slice-of-life that id really recommend to anyone LOL, so I left that age group out haha)

Title Doctor John
it starts in prison... but soon released i think
lol, there are always phases. I remember there was a phase where the main character couldn't tell faces apart, or everyone was a lawyer, right now i can see that cheating dramas are in lol and I feel like we're seeing a school bullying phase right now as well XD It's so funny to see what's "trending" in dramaland, it's always such random stuff. I guess the CEO trend will literally never die tho (someone pls kill it tho haha). What show started that.... it probs came from rich heir shoujo mangas or something.
