Yes, I don't like this Ryusei guy either but if he and the ex-girlfriend Maki are catalysts to Ren and Yo's relationship…
Oooh, i still recommend it because its storyline is quite different to the original which is refreshing (ie. the Ding Li Wei guy was actually their schoolmate) and also cause of the length, you get a lot of stories from when they were younger. But yeah, it does end up focusing on some unnecessary characters...but then again you also get a lot of backstory on other things, like the main guy's family situation (which relates to the main plot because his parents' awful relationship caused him to be afraid of marraige/love and thus is the reason behind his unnatural hesitancy towards the FL) But yeah anyway XD their are positives and negatives to it being a longer story. But back to this version lol, i just finished watching ep 12 and ryusei and yo have kissed more times in one ep then the leads will ever get a chance too lol. well i saw it coming XD I they leave half an ep to an ep to wrap things up once all the drama is over, i will be extremely grateful haha
it's his vlogging/channel name because it sounds like "rubbish" in korean ie. 쓰레기 (sseuregi). I think all of the characters are youtubers or something.... (which would explain Art Park lol) But in ep 1 he says he's human trash which is why his channel is called that. ps. i've just watched too many kdramas so i'm not anywhere near fluent tho so like, dont take my word for it LOL
surprisingly, this drama had like, 0 cliches that you find in a taiwanese drama, really none. no car accidents, random gangsters, the ex from overseas appearing (not for the main characters anyway), memory loss, like for a show made in 2012, i am impressed. The acting was really good, and while it dragged a bit, it's one of the better "old school" tdramas I've seen. One thing i have to say however, is the writing of this show loved super long love confessions that literally went on for MINUTES, describing in every possible way how he loved her and her personality and her lifestyle and her eyelashes and probably even her car lol. literally everything, and yet there are times she's still unsure of his feelings XD but seriously, i thought his playboy sonnets were cringe, (and they were cringe on purpose), but his REAL confessions, sometimes in the show a very touching dialogue would become so cheese just because it went on for TOO LONG. Nowadays it's all about subtlety, LESS is MORE, these scenes could've been more impactful with one honest and raw sentence then a paragraph of flowery words LOL. The female lead also had some stretched out speeches where it sounded like me trying to reach the word count for my essay haha. But other then that this was a pretty good show.
omg is anyone going to sub this. it sounds sooooo good. japan never gives a shit about cliches, they always have the most interesting plots to shows, i feel like they never cater to a specific audience group by making similar themed shows (although you get your cutesy idol shows) but other then those it seems scriptwriters are free to write as interesting and unique stories as they like. Anyway, i am soooo looking forward to this.
omg. every character in this drama is literally on something, his secretary is batshit crazy. it is so funny, like when you first go into this drama not expecting anything, you think something logical is going to happen and then all the "crazy" begins and you're just like, "what the hell am i watching?" haha
You'll have to just try it yourself, but in my opinion no. The drama completely falls apart from mid-end. Alot…
I didn't get past the first 5 eps becuase i couldn't handle the crazy storyline as im more into serious drama, but did I still make everyone around me (even my nonkdrama friends) watch the first 2 eps just to show them something crack-crazy? yes i did. Because everyone should watch at least a couple eps of this show or they're missing out on life. Seriously, you probs won't want to watch the whole show, but i can guarantee you won't regret watching a couple episodes. I have never seen such high quality, high budget wtfery, like i laughed so freaking hard. I highly suggest starting it just for your own amusement.
omg i really liked all of the characters in this show, they were all really REALLY interesting, and I adored cao cao's strategist/liberator(?) whatever his title was, he totally stole the show. Also the main female lead is the best ever and isn't childish for once but is still quite cute at times despite her usual elegant empress facade (you'll get what i mean) also did she do her own dubbing because for once in my life the female lead has quite a unique voice that ive never heard before and it was so refreshing then to hear the same 3 voice actresses that every cdrama seems to use. And for people who watch a lot of cdrama, you know EXACTLY what voices im talking about lol but all of the female characters were well written (all character's in general) it's a whooping 54 episodes but i've never been more engaged in a historical drama before, although near the end i did speed up some of the scenes, but really other then it dragging in some parts, its very well paced. I also couldn't help having a soft-spot for our cao pi before he went 100% evil, ahhh such a shame

Yeah, id probs watch the japanese ver. and pay homage to the og lol. omg, yes. that is the biggest thing with this drama. I know they don't show much of them actually dating in any of the versions because it's meant to be like "they were pretty much dating/playing house this whole time , but just labelling it as friendship" so we've already seen them do "everything" a normal couple would, but also, no. it's not the same, especially if they don't acknowledge it!!!! I'll take an extra episode of "after" any day even if it messes up the poetic writing lol. But I doubt that's going to happen looking at the short 16 episodes lol. I'll say, nothing is worse then the mainland china ver. which is why it pulled at my heart so much. Not to say at which point in the story they get together incase you'd like to watch it one day, but if i calculate it, no lie, they get together when the story is 98.75% over. like it's not even funny haha.
LOL "sad mad" i've never heard that before but boi, it's like the most perfect thing ever to describe how i felt after "finishing" this drama, so no. It wasn't the cold haha. I was looking for bad reviews on this show because if you take the excellent CGI away, the writing of this show is awful. Anyway, thanks for writing a review that sees the light, like your username, the only thing I got out of this show was improving my fast forwarding skills haha.

so true XD we're entering the torturous part of the story where we watch Yo fall for the ex again for like half the show and you just want to shake her lol. I didn't know proposal daisakusen had that type of theme, ill have to check it out LOL
Well, this went from Nothing to Everything in a matter of seconds lmao.
omg i read this comment before i watched the show so i was waiting for the "this escalated quickly" moment and when it came i was just like, yep. there it is. that's what you call "everything" LOL

I've always liked this show because of stubbornness, it's pretty much the main theme of this story: seeing how long they both can hold out before admitting their feelings (despite whatever obstacles). In real life a situation like this would not have lasted this long, there's no way. Unless you have two extremely stubborn people like Yo and Ren, that is. But this is what creates the buildup in the show and what makes it fun. When they finally get together it'll probably be at the very last moment, to the point you don't even think it'll happen. i like that at least now in his mind he's given up pretending and now admits every five minutes that he likes her through a voice-over LOL. that was some denial.
Agreed and disagreed. Agree with all the flaws in Wei Young.Disagree with how Wei Young is less smart than Minglan,…
thanks for the reply (: yes I can only agree to disagree XD but i did watch minglan a while ago and I really liked the writing in that show as compared to this one, so maybe that made me perceive her "schemes" as more novel then they actually were. Anyway, an opinion is an opinion after all XD thanks for reading my review (:
I have watched this with Chinese subtitles and they translated this line of Ren's to "I can't love you yet." which…
Yes the japanese version has it' own charm. The story is mostly set after work at night and japan's night life is always very atmospheric and pretty. I'm also finding the ost to be really nice. The character's are quite qirky as well haha. Love the older brother obsessed with bugs. lol.
well, the ex is a total jerk around Ren: "You don't have the guts to hit me. you can't even say your feelings to the woman you've been in love with for 10 years." well damn son. someone finally said it. It's the first time in this series someone actually said it out loud. If he's there to make Ren act, i'm all for it, especially as they talked about love needing a push in this episode. Also shout out to Kono for not turning pyscho and being the best ex ever. girl deserves a medal by how she cheered on Ren to get Yo. She was right to scold him, he used her feelings to try to get rid of his for Yo's. Luckily she's a good sport.
omg gongmyung TTT he's such a popular actor these days now after his super successful movie, I'm proud *cries* omg finally his talent has been acknowledged, he's such a good actor, I am so ready for this. The rest of the cast is hella good too.

I've seen them all, and I really couldn't choose one I liked better. They're all different but still gave me the same emo feels when I watched them lol. I think it's cause no one ever dares to do a bad adaption of this show so everything is always on point haha. The korean ver. was the first one I ever saw. Lots of people don't like it, but I don't understand why, I feel like that one had the most solid friendship and it was refreshing cause it's quite different from the original. The original "in time with you" is just a classic, period. I mean you can't beat Chen Bolin's effortless acting in unrequited love it's so perfect. The mainland china ver. "The evolution of our love" had a lot of episodes and they really dived deep into everything and I found the acting so good in that one too (although it did drag in the middle and they messed up the pyscho girlfriend character) but I can overlook it because it's a shame to just ignore the scenes that were amazing so yeah XD that's just my opinion though, I'm probs biased towards any form of this drama, but i found they all offered something new
ps. i've just watched too many kdramas so i'm not anywhere near fluent tho so like, dont take my word for it LOL
