And she does try to make contact but is too late and realises it was probably a dumb idea anyway. The only way they could be together is if NYX is able to be an effective prime minister and Ji Man fixes her reputation. Once this is realised, their marriage is granted and basically blessed by the emperor. This is much better than being pariahs in love and fits the main themes of the drama, which is âno one can and should be everything to a personâ and âlove alone/obsessive love canât sustain a personâ.

For how loved Xiao Feng is by the audience, many feel this was the best ending for her. The Xiao Feng at the beginning and the Xiao Feng at the end are two different people to the point itâs depressing. While watching I could almost feel how tired she was. Especially when she looks up at the sky and sighs before going to the battlefield. Iâve always felt she didnât want to but there was really no choice. This drama was very thorough in cutting off all avenues for Xiao Feng so there was no way out for her. In all honestly the show has to be praised for that. It is really hard to make this type of ending actually feel appropriate. The extra episodes were kinda like an extra benefit due to the popularity of the show. They donât have any real meaning and are mostly filled with memes or inside jokes for book and drama fans.

Tbh, this movie is actually really disrespectful to the peacekeepers. As you said they went there to save people. This movie was supposed to depict that but now the blackface will be the focus, not the actual mission. Even the poster feels disrespectful because itâs a shot more related to a scene from a zombie or horror movie than something as serious as a UN mission. It doesnât show the dignity of either side nor what the core of these missions are about,which is to stabilise the situation/help the affected population. If I were a fan of the actor, rather than the commentators, I would question the showrunners who okayed something so unrealistic and controversial as this. They usually have the most power. Actors donât always get a say sometimes and can end up doing things theyâre not actually comfortable doing.
