For some weird reason, the marketing is a bit weird for her. Makes her seem like she has a bigger role than she does. I guess maybe it’s to compensate for the ugly stills of her the show released when the show was finalised.

It’s more a marketing technique now. He’s known for making beautiful women look plain so people click in to see how their favourite actresses look under his camera. Usually then his plots are interesting enough to keep viewers.

This is Yu Zheng’s aesthetic. It’s been like this for years and I doubt it’ll ever change.

She apparently won’t appear until the very end. It’s a cameo and she only shot for two days so there shouldn’t be that many scenes. I can’t wait though. I saw a clip of her in the music video just released and her character seems kinda cute.

Hope it is lives up to expectations. I watched it over two years ago and I still feel sad when I think of the ending😭

The middle is the “sweet” part of the drama and the part when the show tries to flesh out Li Chengyin. It’s probably the weakest arc in my opinion but it will get more intense towards the third/last arc. I’ve seen bits of those shows and all I can say is the ending of Goodbye My Princess is legendary, to the point that people hear the theme song months/years later and feel sad.

I can’t understand this kind of behaviour . How does access affect the quality of a drama? It’s such an immature thing to do because it unfairly skews perceptions of the drama over things it has no control over. Just complain about it like the rest of us or send a (polite) message to Youku requesting it.🙄

Just requested it. It is really strange that this isn’t a fully international release. Most of Yu Zheng’s other dramas are and I thought Zhou Ye has enough popularity overseas from Back to the Brink.
That said, I hope they give all fans an official way to support the show. I really want to see Bai Luo😩 She’s really adorable in all the clips🥹

It might be worth sending a message to Youku requesting this show for international audiences. Did that for another show with Tencent and it actually went from a side platform to the main platform.
In the meantime I guess I’ll be trying to see if I can buy a subscription from the Chinese version of the app😭

There were a lot of rumors about the ML and then there were some Reuters that also caused controversy. A lot of fans said they didn’t watch it but it got a 9996/9999 so that’s a lie- it was nearly a hit show. I think she fits with all her co-stars too and what’s nice is the chemistry is different every time.
CCTV is basically the government channel. It’s like the BBC in a sense so it’s seen as good thing for them to recommend you. And it’s no problem. I think the more people who know about Xiao Ran, the better. ☺️
