I’m not a CDL fan but I know her because she has been making waves/heavy advertising. The reason she probably doesn’t have much MDL support is probably because she hasn’t been in many dramas foreign audiences like to watch/have access to. As she shows her face more in those types, she should build more of a base. But yes, if you want her to get more exposure, you may have to do it yourself. Almost a year ago, I started doing the same for PXR and it’s been gratifying to see more people wanting to get to know her.

These Reuters are probably to pull in passerby interest/shore up investment in addition to showcasing the leads. Reuters are a form of advertising and CDL’s Reuters are usually a draw. She has a fanbase and a pretty good reputation with passerby. Her big role in TtEotM built up most of its hype for her through her Reuters and the character trailers. The guest appearances are definitely to bring in a wider audience as I’m one of them (and also to show clout because not everyone can get them) but I don’t think CX is a prop either. I don’t see her data carrying the show when I’ve checked the Weibo page in the past. CDL and HMH’s fans seem to be leading. Anyway, whether she is a prop will depend on how she is portrayed when the show airs.

I’ve watched a few of his films including his biggest hit, Tiny Times but I don’t like his current aesthetics so I haven’t watched anything beyond Ying-Yang Master. Tbh, the only reason I will watch this is for PXR but that said, I think those questioning his casting should believe in him. He has faults but he is sincere, and sincerity goes a long way when it comes to directors. Almost all the truly hit dramas, low or high budget, have had this in common.
I wonder what director did or say to xiaoran.. that expression. 😂
It reminds me of Actors, Please Take Your Place. It feels like he’s scolding her. I feel like that’s her “oh no, GJM is scolding me…how can I charm my way out of it” expression. Fans on Weibo said he yanked her off to remedial dance classes🤣

The bit about A-listers and popularity isn’t so true about his past career as he’s worked with top level traffic but he does also have a history of taking on newcomers like mentioned. Opinions are mixed on whether he turns them into something “good” as a few have come to him already possessing a famous character, but I do believe he is sincere in wanting to showcase his cast’s best appearance and talent. CDL has been in the industry for a few years but didn’t really have much of a name until recently. The roles she received in the past she probably had to take on because were the best available and/or she needs exposure in her rising period. In the last year or so, she took the cameo route to gain exposure which has worked and led to better roles and opportunities. The challenge for her now is whether she can consistently support a heroine role. She became popular from her support role but people are a lot more lenient about support and cameo roles than they are leading roles. What’s good in her case is GJM has experience coaching younger actors. People may not like his style but if he sees potential in you, he’ll try to give you opportunities. He has a name and his own fanbase so young actors working with him get a lot of built in exposure. He worked with Xiao Ran and because of the opportunities he gave her, the audience could see her skills with lines in addition to her looks and acting abilities.
Tbh I wished I love CDL but I kinda wish the CX was the 1st female lead and CDL would be the 2nd female lead
Being 2nd lead doesn’t mean you won’t shine. GJM chooses on temperament and suitability. He won’t give a role he doesn’t think will suit. I think CX’s chivalrous look in this drama is really interesting because I’d never considered her as that type of character before. It’s fresh; a good way for her to break out again.
Reuters of Miss Qi and Ran Yi (Wang Yilun) eloping. Fans are coming up with all sorts of BE endings for them😂:https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4966958694929033#&video
Aaas XR! Looking like the star you are! I miss my girl. I hope she shows up on our screens soon!!
Did you see all of the looks yesterday?🥹 When I get some time today, I’m going to share some of them in the Feeds for Thirsty Thursday😂 Gotta share the good things with others😌
I know FBB was one but I’m not sure if Zhao Wei was. I think FBB was the last real generation too. Zhao Wei is a good actress though I like Zhou Xun more. I hope one day Xiao Ran can reach their levels. It feels like with her, she’s capable of development but hasn’t had enough roles or worked with enough good teams to learn. The requirements aren’t high enough, it’s just her own professionalism that drives the roles. Haha I was actually really glad when she worked with Jackie Chan because her physicality is a weakness so I hope working someone who is a master of it, that she gained some skills (Though I think she did. Her posing and body language have gotten better in the last few months).
She was so beautiful just a tad slower than the others. It seems that they're always dancing and having fun. Look…
Haha yeah . I think SJFY messed up by not giving her some older makeup. I didn’t mind cause I knew the real ages of the cast but it got scolded so much because a lot of ppl thought she was in her early 20s or so.

Haha she does. Her pictures today were AMAZING. When ToDoI was shooting an extra completely missed her because she looked so young and unassuming apparently. One of the reasons I liked Yezi’s plumpness is that it looks like baby fat so she’s got a kinda stubborn childless to her in the beginning.

I wonder what happened here. Both actors have excellent expressions 😅(not a spoiler)
