It passed the review quite quickly so I don’t see why it wouldn’t be released. Some things just take patience if the leads aren’t first line. I’d estimate maybe next year especially considering it’s TV.
It’s always awesome to find other shrimps. Most foreign shrimps have the same positive and low-key mentality so thankfully it’s mostly good vibes around here. I actually started watching TV again because of Cdrama but she’s the only one who makes me pay for membership. I first saw her in GBMP and her performance really blew me away. I feel like very few people realise how hard Xiao Feng’s character was. The audience needs to find her cute but not annoyingly so. She must have transformation but it must be believable. And she must cause an immense sense of grief in order for the tragedy of GBMP to be realised. That’s a tall order for even veterans but not only did she succeed but Xiao Feng is a classic character who has her own mini tourism industry and who even CCTV recognises. And she did that with only one role, her first role. People mourn Xiao Feng as if she were real. Knowing this, I can’t imagine what her progress would have been like had she continued to get productions as sincere as GBMP. So many people would have given up in her place but she kept going. Jun Jiu Ling turned me into a fan. She got so much hate and ridicule but she took it all on with poise and grace. I too love that none of her characters feel the same. C-ent says it’s a detriment but that’s ridiculous. An actor who can keep you feeling like you’ve just met for the first time for every character is rare and it’s a characteristic that should be treasured. Cheers to another shrimp! Catch you in the drama comments or the feeds.

The first billing is PXR so LXY’s company shouldn’t affect its airing but PXR’s dramas do take a long time to air. If I remember right, it still doesn’t have an online platform.
I’ve been her fan for a little over two years now, from the Jun Jiu Ling era, and I really hate the flashiness of C-ent sometimes. I feel like a lot of the fans that pressure her that way are fans of others or too deep into star chasing mentality and get lost in the tricks. They don’t understand true artists/actors don’t do all those tricks because they have the ability. It’s only people who lack beauty and/or talent that need to sell other things. Plus they also don’t get that she does listen on the big things but not how and oftentimes when they want. They criticised the type of life pic she took and some fans told her to stop posting foodie pics so much etc so she stopped. They also told her to do less but better quality business photos and she followed that critique as well. Now, they complain that they don’t see much but she’s only done as they asked.😩 Recently they’re pissed because she’s taking support roles that they feel take too long but that’s the nature of them. They begged her for years to take on any kind of role so she had more opportunities but now they’re complaining again. She’s gone from no filming at all to relatively continuous filming this year and still getting complaints- it’s a bit unbelievable. I’m still annoyed at how much they criticised her recent ancient photo makeup only for it be her most successful look of the year/make passerby realise she looks good in ancient costumes again🙄Luckily she has some rational fans who seemed to be taking the lead and steering the fandom into a better mentality. I too haven’t liked an actress in a while as much as I like her. She’s really something special. Her work ethic is really good like you said- she keeps notebooks on her roles, asks for advice from veteran actors, listens to directors, and is willing to take time to learn a new skill if the role requires it. Who knew she didn’t know how to ride a horse before Xiao Feng or that she wasn’t a very good swimmer when they saw Nie Sangyu. She can craft characters, show their growth. She can play against veteran actors without bringing the performance down. She can also dub herself with it only enhancing the performance and not detracting like with so many other stars. I really think she’s a treasure and I selfishly hope she can stay in the industry for a long time because it’s always fresh experience to see her and that’s such a rare thing.
Yes, she really is beautiful inside and out. Her looks remind of the golden era of film when actresses had very pretty eyes and delicate features. She doesn’t post much and gets criticised for not following the female star trend of marketing herself all the time but I would rather follow an actress who volunteers in their downtime, posts messages telling fans to take care of their mental health, and donates to charity than shiny photos every day.
I loved this. Any recs for a drama with similar high-level plot and pacing but same lightness?
I think there’s a drama about a female coroner that was also praised. I’m not sure about pacing tho. This director is pretty good about pacing in Cdrama. I might complain about other aspects but he’s the only director who I don’t fast-forward.
A fan added back in the cuts that had in all the chemistry. Really out here doing the Lawd’s work though it’s a shame they changed the speed of some scenes. Still got be grateful tho.🥹 https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4952614841352591
Put aside their personal lives, I actually think it's a very good drama with happy ending. And Feng Shaofeng &…
It’s a shame stars have to deal with this. PXR gets plastic surgery rumors too and it’s awful. Not because there’s anything wrong with plastic surgery but that the marketing accounts prey on women’s insecurities making them think procedures will get them to look like certain stars when that’s rarely the case. I’ve also never understood the AB hate. She seems like a nice person in life. If people don’t like her dramas, just skip them.

It’s strange I actually dislike large age gaps in real life, and initially wasn’t into this show because of the gap. But I think SJFY did a decent job of it by making the big relationship decisions led by Bai Lu. And YXM checking in with her before going along with them. It was also good that YXM saw Bai Lu as someone to train up to be his equal and while he was protective, he wasn’t controlling or smothering like so many male leads. That was quite smart.

I remember American Beauty…. That movie was gross to the max. I can understand misgivings, it’s just the uneven application of outrage that I can’t understand. People were ready to call the police on this show while Chongzi also had older male lead, definitely old enough to be the female lead’s father, with an even younger girl counterpart but didn’t seem to get the level of hate this show got. Maybe it’s visuals though as a poster once said. PXR looks really young and her type of beauty makes people feel protective cause she seems very innocent and cute. That actor in his late 30s has shot at least 2 dramas with actresses in their early 20s but I don’t hear much. But again despite looking older, he doesn’t look “old”.

Haha, Yes it true that there’s always complaints. It’s just such a shame they cut the last arc. I wanted to see their after marriage arc. From the clips, it looks like Yu Xiuming really doted on Bai Lu and I could eat ten bowls of that.

Haha, He totally has sugar daddy energy in some scenes😂It’s true you don’t get as many complaints the other way around. I’m not really sure what set people off about this pairing tbh. Chongzi and Hidden Love had big gage gaps but that didn’t seem to hold those shows back as much as it did SJFY.

I think they’re referring to the severe cuts to the drama which affected the quality of the original storyline. Most MDL posters on this wall don’t care about FSF’s personal life nor think poorly of him because of his divorce. There haven’t been many but most complaints about him are more about the age gap between the leads.
When I went to rewatch it recently, the show seemed different. It seems like they made some edits behind the scenes that weren’t there when the show first aired. It feels a lot more coherent and slightly better edited.

I don’t understand the difference… is each platform doing their own filters? The Amazon Prime version really looks S quality even with the simple costumes. The coloring (except for the super white filters and lack of lighting sometimes) is so gorgeous. Edit: Apparently Xie Ze mostly shoots for big screens so his works will always look better on TV.

National Day welfare drop! Xiao Ran is soooo pretty. Hope her filming goes well and that health recovers quickly.https://m.weibo.cn/detail/4952077663994392
I think she changed her team again. The quality has been pretty good lately and it’s been a long time since a vlog.
