I’ve only seen clips of him but will definitely be keeping an eye out for his future roles. His expressive ability in both facial and body expression is really unreal for an actor his age. He definitely deserves a meaty male lead role. Hopefully the success of Fengshen will lead to more opportunities.🙏

The dub and filters really ruined the first version of this show and even though the re-edits are good, I still don’t think they actually portray the quality of the original lines. They only show up every so often though so it’s hard to post.

Ah then Weibo, bilibili, xiaohongshu, etc are definitely better for gossip. So much there😂It’s hot off the press and there’s a lot of stuff that doesn’t make it to foreign watchers. I usually pay attention to an artist’s Weibo wall and learn the slang search terms for them so I can follow some of their gossip. It’s also fun for following shows because you get tidbits on Weibo and/or domestic opinions, reactions, memes on shows which is also fun.

Meh, Avenue X doesn’t always do her homework and her explanations are often very small windows for shows she isn’t interested in. I don’t even watch her anymore because I find it’s more accurate to just browse Weibo/bilibili and use my own film knowledge to build an accurate picture rather than use her biased views. She’s also heavily production focused and some of this show’s production issues were due to Covid limitations which I don’t believe she mentioned. And I don’t feel like it was a quick production to make money because in the scenes where little has been messed with, the original quality of the show can be seen and it’s decent to me. Plus fans have the scene shooting list and there’s a lot more going on than the edit. And the response from the director plus one of the producers seems like things were out of their hands. They were releasing tidbits at the beginning but had to stop and there was little explanation. A quick production also doesn’t explain cutting the last arc either because most fans wanted the after marriage episodes and there really doesn’t seem to be anything wrong with them and they probably don’t follow the author (who had little input) storyline anyway.

There’s multiple theories and tbh that isn’t the one I fully believe now based on shows that have aired since the broadcast of this show but it is what it is and unfortunately fans just have to live with it😩.

The FML’s voice is a dub, not their original voice. In fact both leads have been dubbed but she graduated from a broadcasting university and is generally considered to have a nice voice and good lines. You may still dislike her original voice but here’s a link to it:

Her makeup was very on point then and she definitely didn’t lose to any female stars. Some fans question her ambition because of the contrast but based on things Xiao Ran has said or written, I don’t think the last few years have been easy and it’s possibly changed her outlook on life and stardom. I’m okay with her being an actress over being a female star because I like her works most of all but I also hope she continues to film. She only has two left😭

She used to work for IQIYI as a host. They gave her a lifetime contract as long as she didn’t leave them but she left when she signed with FBB. IQIYI did have her in some of their dramas (she was really beautiful in them) but they weren’t big and/or challenging roles. In fact, I think FBB poached her after her appearance in Nine Gates. Now that she has a name, it seems strange for IQIYI not to use her so I figured there must be more to it.

This! I’m praying with all 10 fingers and toes that she stays away from them. Youku doesn’t really treat its own well at all. I wish she could go back to IQIYI but I feel like things must still be too awkward.

The pair are such good actors, I really want to see their dynamic.

Every time I watch the original sound versions of this show, I really feel like the showrunners did it to save lives. If the show had the same emotional intensity as the clip (warning:spoilers) below, I probably would have died from tear induced dehydration 😩:

Jiman never stops being clever in this show which really nice. And she never stops being independent. This show’s ending is one of the few where the heroine really stands on her own two feet.

I’m too old for it too. I only chase one actress and I would just lurk if not for doing the odd bits of promo on here.

Because I’ve seen it from more than one person, more than one time, across multiple dramas. And it’s OP who brought up past co-stars so that can’t be blamed on me. It’s just something I hate to see. As I’m engaging with this fanbase, for this show I’m calling it out. If I see it in other fanbases during the hot period, I’ll call it out too. And it doesn’t matter what the fanbase is, I’ve called out other PXR fans when they do this too.

Fair enough. All this arguing is bad for blood pressure anyway. Hopefully the show’s rating get better and better and more popular😊

I don’t care that you used an example, I’m saying I don’t care if former costars fight after a drama has aired. I only care while the drama is in its hit period because it affects it. And I actually didn’t bring other actresses in, OP did with their comment. If it was one or two people, I wouldn’t care because all fandoms have toxic fans but it is something I keep on seeing and I don’t think it’s fair to the actresses or the actor.

My comment wasn’t aimed at Deidre19 but the OP who said they watched several of his dramas. I don’t actually care that they said PXR acted bad, people can have an opinion. It was the last sentence about acting with a good actress that annoyed me since so many of his costars have either hits, carry their shows, or classic roles of their own proving they are good. DYX seems too nice and caring to say things like this. He respects his costars so much and even speaks up for them when so many actors won’t. So, it would be good to see less of this type of punching down comment.

I’m talking about fans not passerby because while passerby do comment I also see a lot of this type of comment from definite fans. Are PXR and CXX currently shooting a drama together or have a drama currently in its hot period running? Who cares about fighting over a show that aired 4 years ago. I don’t even care about this pair fighting or complaining about each other, just do it quietly until the show is finished its crucial period. The show was doing a bit better recently, don’t give anymore fuel to detractors.

He worked hard but a drama’s success doesn’t just rely on one person. This is a known fact. And, I’m not overreacting. I’m just calling out a type of comment I see on repeat

My logic is the pattern of his fandom trashing his costar’s publicly while the show is airing. It’s about betraying the partnership not just insults in general because that’s normal. I don’t even get why the PXR and JJY fanbases fight because there is an overlap of fans. I actually don’t mind JJY and don’t get the hate around her either. She obviously can carry a drama. She’s beautiful and sings well (I had her version of the white snake opening on repeat for like a month because it’s so good). She hasn’t done an IP I liked yet but if she did, I would give it a chance.
