Why do DYX fans always trash the actress? I have goodwill for DYX but it is hard to keep it when I keep seeing…
Exactly! There is no reason for the fanbases to cooperate but DYX and YCY are this together just DYX and PXR were in together for RoaTF. If you love ya boy, make it so his shows have the most chance of success. A hit drama relies on more than one person to explode. You don’t have to like the costar but at least give a little respect so the show can have the best chance.

I like DYX, I really do. He’s one of the few 95s where I can see talent but I just can’t take this pattern as a fan of mainly actresses. Actor should be known for their works but I’ll be honest that my first impressions of him weren’t good because I only saw his fans fighting with the fanbases of him costars. He conquered me with RoaTF and I decided to give future stuff a try but then see the same upsetting stuff from fans who should be working together to make the show a success. I want him to succeed but this kind of stuff really puts people off.

It’s not fair to keep seeing actresses who work hard get trashed. Maybe I should have used the quantifier of some but honestly these last two dramas I’ve tried of his have been so annoying because of this.

I’m not talking about her outside haters but the haters from DYX’s side being publicly vocal while the show is still airing. At least protect the drama and keep it quiet in personal posts/messages…🫠

They’re not costars of the same show, are they? I don’t care about most fandom fights between fanbases because it’s most just squabbling but I do hate to see shifting all the blame when things aren’t doing well and I hate seeing it on here, where there shouldn’t be as many bad influences as Weibo. It’s too petty.
When the show first aired, a lot of stars retweeted it to bring it heat. That’s how I knew it was airing and…
It’s not just idols, it’s all of C-ent down to production staff that tread water. The smallest thing can lead to someone’s downfall. The ugliest thing about idols though is how they get them. Many are basically kids so they really should be trained well for media life and protected in the early years but instead it just feels like they’re exploited. It’s why I don’t really like or follow idol culture. There’s too many things wrong with the big companies.

The OP trashed more than one actress though. This isn’t just about YCY, but a pattern of blame which is ridiculous. I’m an actress fan, I watched this show because an actress I liked recommended it and I’ve given another chance because of the actress so to keep seeing vitriol against the actresses worked with in the past is annoying af.

Definitely seen his fans trash his costars here and on Weibo. I wouldn’t have said anything but after seeing such comments for the last four months, I can’t take it anymore. YCY and the show are getting hammered, why add fuel to the fire or alienate potential watchers with stuff like this? I really feel sorry for DYX. He himself seems so good so I don’t understand why his fanbase has so many people with attitudes like this.

It’s his own fans though. I don’t just follow on MDL, I follow on Weibo too. And I see the same type of comments from people who are most definitely his fans. Fans can be disappointed in a drama without always throwing the blame on someone else. It’s just so petty and to see it drama after drama, especially when I only initially came to watch because the costar trashed by OP recommended this show is a knife in the back.
Her acting is not great but they also ruined her character in this story by changing her background and personality…
She definitely would have done better under the original character design. I really wish they had kept it because it sounds great. May all screenwriters who weaken female characters to set off the male lead quit the industry. Also people think cute girl characters are easy to play but it’s actually hard af once you mature out of that stage.

I also hate these type of comments because fans keep crying over his lack of hits, yet for this show I mostly see the actress’s fans actually protecting the drama.
I've watched a few of Ryan Ding's dramas and they're all great. but recently I found the drama quite boring. not…
Why do DYX fans always trash the actress? I have goodwill for DYX but it is hard to keep it when I keep seeing these comments all time, on every drama. It ruins the mood of the drama, gives anti-fans a weak spot (as we can see with this drama), and it dampens his potential to attract fans. It’s also gross when I think of the hard work his females costars put in and how actresses have to have several good dramas before they’re stable whereas an actor can be popular with one. It reeks of the actress bringing nothing to the table but almost every single actress he has worked with has a strength in her own right. Peng Xiao Ran has a classic role. She was a top host for IQIYI and has even been a host for a CCTV special, She’s been nominated because of her acting and she’s even won some awards. YCY climbed her way from poverty to be an up and coming star. She had a hit S drama this year. Esther Yu and ZLS are astute businesswomen with several hit dramas and popular roles between them. Thank goodness his next few dramas don’t seem to have female counterparts so other fans don’t have to suffer this ugliness.
I have a question for those of you who understand Chinese entertainment world:Given how (unjustly) bashed Yang…
When the show first aired, a lot of stars retweeted it to bring it heat. That’s how I knew it was airing and it’s a common practice but speaking out for others is really a dangerous game if you’re not agreeing with public opinion. Edit: Actually I have seen some stars stand up for others but it’s generally in their comment section only not necessarily publicly nor very explicit. It’s usually like a “加油” type comment.
Not you posting that hateful youtuber that I try very hard to block from my youtube channel 😆😆😆 She is…
It’s because outside of production knowledge, she’s unprofessional and often doesn’t even do her research before posting a review. I’ve watched her actually miss out on key details explained in the show and then call it a plot hole. She didn’t even amend her review either when called out for it. She also just doesn’t like certain genres but still reviews them despite her bias. She also doesn’t seem to take into account audience for these shows either. For years the foreign Cdrama community used her reviews as gospel and I’ve seen fun lively comment sections basically bombarded by those who use her reviews to justify the negativity.
She’s really pretty in real life. Judging on how popular the response to this look has been, I really don’t understand why the show allowed the styling it did. It probably would have gotten at least a 7 or maybe even been a small hit. This makeup could go a little lighter but the clothes seem to perfectly fit the light and airy tone of Jiman.
Got to blame the producers and costume designer/stylist for the poor makeup. I don’t know what they were thinking.…
Most foreign viewers haven’t watched it because it has no subs, but To Our Dreamland of Ice is basically the same level of quality and she’s very good in it too. Even though people look down on her more recent costume dramas, they are the level she can access and she’s been doing her best. She doesn’t have any backers to get her into the better productions, so it’s really all her hard work that’s gotten her to where she is now. I saw the trailer for Mask Girl😂 it looks really interesting.
I thought things might turn around but the combo of the live broadcast and Wang Yuxi’s post to the audience…
I don’t want to use the word culture. It’s more that this show had a lot of hype and it went up against some heavy hitters. The comparison leaves it a lot weaker than if it had gone against a drama with a cast around the same age. I think audiences in general, not just in China, are more vocal due to the internet and the anonymity it gives. There also seems to be some backstory surrounding an idol group show and YCY that also seems to be driving some of the focus on her and the reaction to the show. There is also anger at the changes in the adaptation and the character settings (tbh I kind of understand them because according to what I’ve read, they did indeed seem to be perfect for the original plot but the changes aren’t as suitable). I think with all the hype and all these issues, it’s just brewed up the perfect storm, but this year has been a year of stormy shows😅. What’s strange here is that it hasn’t driven up playback, because usually that’s what dramas with a lot of attention (positive or negative) do.
