Yeah, this pairing is amazing so I also dread the end. It’ll be back to the drama shortage for me😭 because I’m not interested in anything else out right now. In fact, every time I see a “ThIs ShOuLd Be 24 EpIsOdEs” post, I want to cry because they definitely would have cut this sweetness. I’m low-key like if the 2 cut episodes were couple stuff, please release them😂
I wish they did promo stuff too. I think if they had done at least a building sweep, the momentum for the show would have stayed higher. But looking at the live backgrounds and knowing Xiao Ran’s schedule, it seems everyone is busy.

I like a lot of drama couples but this pair really tops. It’s like when AoL, Eternal Love, and GBMP had me in a grip and I used to rewatch all the sweet scenes. I can’t get enough 😭
I just realised the live broadcast was today too but I couldn’t figure out how to buy the tickets without a Wechat or QQ account. I saw some clips of it though and DYX looks cute and PXR looks gorgeous. I think she finally fixed her camera setup😂

Jinyumantang is really an invincible couple to me. Their looks match perfectly and their young couple vibe is precious and cute but it’s the acting that really puts them on top. Even the random screenshots taken by the audience have as much of sense of story as if they were staged photo stills.

After realising Jiman repeated the same words to Ning Yuxuan as Nie Sangyu in the beginning , her curse, and feeling the effect of the scene as a viewer, I really want to rewatch the series with a closer eye. It’s still a light plot but like with the rumors about eating horses and NYX’s good work on the flood coming back to save him, there are some unexpectedly smart moments too. Really some of the best foreshadowing, setup, and callbacks I’ve seen in a long time.
And with the exception of Jiman running into danger a couple times (which turns out to be very useful later on) the characters are pretty consistent too. During the rain scene with Jiman looking at Ning Yuxuan and realising he won’t let go of the past, the looks on both actors faces was absolutely perfect and so consistent with their characters.

Haha, yes I remember that! Bless him. He really is a sweetheart. I think he said it was like her charm point or something to be able to resist the bouncing camera.

Sometimes if you click on someone who responded to a comment, it’s like it freezes the screen or something.

Episode 30 seemed to be shot by someone different again but the lens language was very beautiful. Jiman’s scene of turning and running while Ning Yuxuan looked on was gorgeous.

It’s like Nie Sangyu’s curse hit Ning Yuxuan in that moment😭Well done screenwriters.

I’m pretty sure this person is a troll. I wouldn’t waste time arguing with them. A good show will stand up on its own and won’t need to trash another to get heat.

It’s ramped up in terms of romance but I also think this drama is a bingeing type drama too so it might better to come back after it ends next week if you have Tencent VIP.

It’s too sweet. I laughed through both episodes. I hope Tencent does a couple’s cut for this show. Then I can watch it whenever my blood sugar is low😂

Also, for the last two episodes, this couple has been basically doing the Cdrama equivalent of making out whenever they meet and now they’re trying to “elope”, how is that not getting closer?
Like dang some of these scenes would have never have made it on Youku (outside of its new drama, every other drama has had to starve🫠)

I understand what you meant. It’s hard for everyone, even top stars to get good scripts. I’ve heard of some having to actually hire separate people to review the script before they accept. And even that’s not a guarantee because production and the director can change the script after it has been accepted. I heard rumors that’s what happened to Legend of Fei and Jun Jiu Ling Apparently the JJL screenwriter posted some of the original script after being scolded so much and it was supposedly awesome. This is the same Director as Jun Jiu Ling and Fuyao, both of which have received criticism for the way they were shot. This director sometimes has a few good moments but overall you can tell he’s not shooting for art but for cheap sitcom levels that the audience can digest easily without much thought.

They should get together. The book has a happy ending so unless Ze wants a horde of angry fans he should give RoaTF a happy ending.

Tbh, I’m not fussed about subtitles but about access. Trying to find To Our Dreamland of Ice legally was a nightmare and took me a like 1/4 of the show to find. I hope Hunan is friendly to foreign IPs if Mango’s YouTube channel doesn’t broadcast but then again, if fans message Mango, they might subtitle it faster if they think there will be views. RoaTF was dead silent and originally only posted on Croton but somehow got lifted to Tencent once views and comments started trickling in.
