She did try to die after the first betrayal, LCY stopped her prolonging everything.
Besides, how can she be responsible for the people LCY wants to kill? He was going to destroy Danchi whether she brought him in or not. He was going to kill Gu Jian whether she told him he was Gu Xiao Wu or not. If Xiao Feng didn’t beg for A’du’s life, LCY would have let her die too.

Coming from a drama that did this, cutting a 40 episode show into a 24 episode show would be a nightmare, especially since this drama is somewhat heavy in the setup, details, and foreshadowing.

It’s essentially how her character is set up in the book and she’s one of the main antagonists for Ji Man.

This is her real voice as a character. She graduated from a top broadcasting school as a host and I guess as a result has her “real” voice and her professional voices. She did the voice for Li Binghe and it’s pretty cute too.

I have a feeling they don’t get married then. I feel like the marriage scene is NYX’s fantasy because A’Lang approaches Ji Man before the wedding and in one of the MVs, NYX is lying on the floor in his wedding clothes looking distraught. I feel like Ji Man runs away and NYX tracks her down and that the raining episode.

Nothing But You is also airing on TV. I can’t remember which channel but some channels do two episodes a day like every day and can go through a show really quickly. When a drama is linked to a TV channel it usually follows the channel’s airing schedule in terms of release speed.

It has to do with the platform and how they decide a show should air. It’s possible the platform didn’t think they could make as much money extending the airing schedule of Nothing But You. They probably felt the viewership of Nothing But You is more likely to have VIP membership and/or to pay for Express Play since it’s geared to an older audience than ROATF. Whereas RoaTF being for younger more general audiences will probably have less VIP members and more people watching for “free”. In that case, the membership fee money is made up from advertising money and it makes more sense to stretch it out. Or entice those who don’t want to wait as much into VIP.

I thought she would come back too. The setup was there for it and it makes sense how it seems to work.I’m glad that it is as a business rival rather than just a wife or something.

The romance is really sweet. The leads are really good at acting. I’d say it’s decently paced. There’s tidbits of sweetness until the main leads build their relationship into a proper couple.

Looks like Ji Man’s identity gets in the way of the couple. Wen wan returns not only as a scorned women but as a business rival (which I didn’t expect).

It seems like it’s at the end of the second arc of the story which is generally the slowest bit, gearing up for the final arc. Next week looks like drama central tho.
