The money loving? I think it’s a bit of satire actually. She says she doesn’t like money because she has a lot but when she didn’t have money, money was everything. Felt like it was a bit tongue in cheek at all the rich people who say money isn’t everything.

NSY is still a vicious woman but there is something inherently sad about someone being afraid to be alone, ending up alone. The acting and score in that scene was very moving too.

This pairing is probably the sweetest pairing I’ve ever seen. I don’t know if it’s because they both have really cute faces and expressions but it’s so adorable that I too have to rewatch it. When JM said, “husband” in that super sweet tone I almost died from the sugar overload.

Death by sugar tonight!!! Their acting skills give them the sweetest expressions and chemistry. Almost makes me wish this was a more serious drama so they could stretch their acting wings wider.

Haha, NYX is pretty much trash in the book it’s true. I actually love the book because of Jiman’s resilience in the face of all the crap that went on. I actually didn’t care too much about the romance but I loved reading NYX essentially on his knees for her.

If this event doesn’t affect things too much I don’t think Xiao Feng will ever go away because it’s pretty much a classic role at this point. Perhaps one of the most classic roles of the 90s cohort. It’s true when all types of passerby say she has a special existence. Yesterday, even when PXR fans were scolding people for keeping her trapped in the role, they stopped to gush over this one really beautiful post of Xiao Feng pictures😂
Hit or not, this show has been pretty joyful for fans(except the styling😩) I’m glad it could get PXR out of the Youku GMP deathspiral and properly give us a new female goose.

Yeah, I feel aggrieved for them on that but otherwise I try to stay away from that corner of the world as much as I can. The C-net GMP fandom is really strange and sometimes I feel ungrateful and one of the reasons things are so vicious between the two fandoms. It’s one of the reasons I hoped their new show would be a hit, so GMP wouldn’t tie the two together so much. I originally followed both right after GMP. They’re definitely good ones in that person’s fandom but I’ve seen too many bad ones and seen too much of the bs they pull to want anything to do with it anymore.

I guess maybe it’s a bit more difficult than other light comedies is what I’ve heard from a friend.

Book fan here. I actually like this drama better than the book. It’s like they took out all the unpleasant bits and kept the good bits - the early squabbling, Jiman as a chaos gremlin, Jiman after the 💰, NYX falling in love first and then chasing after Jiman.

There’s no real competition in the book.
