Light comedy my butt. Director Ze (I actually think it was an assistant director…these episodes were too well shot and beautiful) go do crime thrillers and detective shows😭. These last two episodes were way too well done in setup. “Good” dramas don’t even have the setup I saw in these last two episodes. It was so good I almost missed out on the acting. I saw some complaints but I feel like the fault lay in dubbing and lighting (also your screen brightness makes a difference whether you see tears or not) because the emotions looked in place.
SORRY for people who like it But it’s my opinion …almost all females exaggerates in acting in this drama,…
I’m not a fan but it’s a trope of Cdrama. Palace/Harem Fight. This is actually low level compared to what to used to go on. They’re used be to entire shows revolving around this concept. Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Pavilion, Legend of Zhen Huan, and Story of Yanxi Palace are some of the bigger names but the trope caught a ban so it’s seen much less now. The book this show is based on has a lot of this. They toned it down like 90%.
🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊🎊 The show has been recognised by DataWin!!! And it’s recognised Peng Xiao Ran as well!!! Ryan Ding also made #2 on Maoyan’s character list!!! Again thanks to everyone for the views, likes, and comments on YouTube and Viki. 🥹🥹🥹
Wen Wan was already vicious. She used Nie Sangyu's hand to stab herself to get Nie Sangyu in trouble. This was…
She did that, true. But it’s more about her cycle of lashing out and then remorse/repentance and how it mimics what was probably Sangyu’s cycle as well.
For those who are also watching Royal rumors, can you tell me if ROTF has more actions and more developped stories?…
I think you may just have to watch it to see. I think this show might have a faster pace and more outrageous comedy scenes but RR has more elaborate makeup and maybe better characterisation and plot from what I’ve heard. It’ll depend on what kind of story is engaging to you.
I actually think Nie Sangyu might be Xiao Ran. It sounds a bit like her. I like Jiman and Bai Lu but Xiao Feng’s VA is generally considered the best amongst fans. Jiu Ling… is considered one of the worst actually. I dislike that VA too😅. That show really should have been self-dubbed. The original voice track blows the VAs away. But you’re right that Jiu Ling’s tone matches Xiao Ran best. Her voice is quiet royal sister. If you scroll down, there’s audio of her speaking as Jiman.
It seems to be a requirement from the showrunners/stylist. All the actresses are really thin in this show. I think…
I miswrote it should be jins, so around 100lbs. Apparently that was a selling point for this show from some of her fans until they saw how thin she is in some shots. I personally think that she needs a bit of flesh on her face and body to look her best. When I first saw her as Xiao Feng, one of the things that stuck out to me was how sturdy and healthy she looked in Xizhou. It made me believe she was girl who spent her days riding horses. But for this stylist’s costumes which mimics the xianxia fairy look, the physique has to be thin. I guess JiMan is supposed to invoke an image of a fairy.
Thanks to everyone still giving likes, comments, and views on WeTV and Viki! And to whoever said this was going…
I also just stopped by the Tencent YouTube Channel on my way to liking videos and saw that this show’s announcement had 20,000 likes on WeTV on just one channel. That is wild considering neither lead is traffic.
Not sure if anyone has mentioned this plot hole:Wouldn’t Ji Man ang Nie Sangyu be wearing different clothes…
That would depend on how they found them. If a passerby found them first, they may have changed their clothes. There’s also a theory running around that they’ve been switched by a third party.
Episode 43 now and the ONLY reason why I didn’t drop this drama is because of Chen Xing Xu’s acting. He’s…
Agreed. Romeo and Juliet, the audience feels regret for their love at the end. With GMP, the audience feels relief that everything is finally over. This show is very interesting in that both leads essentially undergo corruption arcs that lead to the tragedy. LCY keeps believing in the lie of power while Xiao Feng believes in the falsehood of freedom.
The making of ROATF.https://wetv.vip/play/c00455boqg6?ptag=3_5.7.0.10040_copySome interesting lines at the beginning…
I feel spoiler. Someone also said a long-time love. I have a hunch NYX might have met Jiman when he was much younger and possibly mistaken Nie Sangyu for her.
I’m trying so hard not call out of work so I can go home and watch this 😭
