Well, RoaTF has already done better than expected. Tencent isn’t even promoting it on its pages and it got this result. And on other chart’s it’s fighting against dramas airing on multiple platforms when it itself is just a solo broadcast. The subject matter of that drama is also different and has a different audience generally so RoaTF still has a fighting chance on some of the charts.

Just a heads up to PXR fans,
Since a certain drama aired, there’s been a lot of sly attacks on PXR. I thought it would stay on Weibo etc but it’s starting to bleed onto this site so don’t be surprised and just ignore if you suddenly start seeing a lot of criticism of her characters. It seems most of it is stemming from that place.

Bai Lu and Yezi are great. It’s the editing that went wrong. Fans from other shows coming to hate on this and other PXR shows is a little lowbrow, don’t you think?

It’s not a love story. Or better yet, it’s more factual to say it isn’t a romance, which in the Western literary sense requires a happy ending. I don’t know why the show marketed itself on love. By all definitions this story is a proper tragedy and that’s what it’s now famous for.

Yes, but I don’t mind it. I’m not actually sure why they used dubs tbh, both leads have really good lines.

I just remembered that Jiman woke up with her fingers bandaged but Nie Sangyu didn’t have any wounds on her hand when she fell. Remembering other details that didn’t seem important to the story when they first appeared, does anyone else think this may be a clue to how the twins got switched or Jiman ended up in the area in the first place?

It seems to be a requirement from the showrunners/stylist. All the actresses are really thin in this show. I think PXR went down to 80 jins and she’s somewhere in the 5’5+ range in height , so she lost a lot of weight. Some fans did a comparison shot of Bai Lu and Nie Sangyu and though it’s very cute, Bai Lu’s face is round like a rice ball compared to Nie Sangyu.

I couldn’t understand it either because when it comes to this style of acting, she’s one of the best out of the 90s actresses, and I say this as someone who also likes acting legends like Zhou Xun and Gong Li. There’s also angst coming up which from the trailer looks like PXR nails. I’m not sure who the critics think could do better with such simple makeup and weird lens but I don’t think the list for 90s and even some 85s xiaohua would be that long.

For those wondering whether to watch or not,
If you’ve been hurt by the high levels of facial paralysis in Cdramas, come and get the cure in this show. Big expressions flying everywhere, it’s not a loss to invest a few shares.

I love her in this too. It feels like she’s finally getting to use her expressive abilities to the max.
She and Ryan Ding were a good casting. While not every shot is perfect, it’s good to see a show where characters make big expressions and can control them. There’s too much facial paralysis nowadays in Cdramas.
It’s always been said that she doesn’t perform with the “shadow” of previous characters but the contrast between Nie Sangyu and Jiman is really amazing, to the point that Nie Sangyu has solo fans despite being performed by the same person.😂

Even with our “childish” FML and “mean” ML the show has hit DataWin’s Top 3 for 26/03!!! Great news as it rose on a non-update day and that’s not usual. It’s still in the Top 3 on Maoyan and Vlinkage while the characters are still in the Top 10 with Ning Yuxuan steady at #3 but Jiman unfortunately dropping to #6.

I feel like part of the fun of this show is how it is so ridiculous in unexpected places😂
