Wow. just wow! These last 2 episodes got me shooked. Is this still the funny light hearted show I've been watching?…
1+1>2. If I didn’t believe in actors acting with various partners to develop their skills more, I’d really want to see these two pair up again in a more serious drama. I think they’d be perfect for a conspiracy plot.
Coming back to praise the director of the last two episodes again. I think because it’s a comedy with exaggerated expressions or could be the shooting style, but this show sometimes doesn’t feel as “real” as other shows. However, whoever directed and shot the prison scene finally brought it there. Maybe it was because it was a serious scene so the acting skills were easier to be seen but in those few moments Ning Yuxuan and Ji Man really felt like young couple who existed at some point and time.
This show is still in the Top 5 on DataWin and I have to commend it. It’s actually holding its own against dramas airing on multiple platforms while battling a drama airing on the same platform with the same genre but with more well known actors and more elaborate styling.
Yes, I agree she's pretty in any outfit, esp. light yellow & pink. She's still very pretty at every angle even…
Yes, I agree. A lot of people talk about her in red but she looks really good in any pink+pastel combination. SJFY was the same team as Goodbye My Princess so I was looked forward to all the outfits, but then they cut the arc with the best ones and I’m still so angry. Think they could have at least given fans an outfit video if they couldn’t air the whole thing. I loved the court outfits and the armor look was amazing too but the most beautiful look was the wedding announcement green and pink dress. It really took my breath away.
Ok the last scene in the ep. 16 retrieved for everything. The scene was beautiful 😍
Hahahaha. I dunno but seeing this comment made me laugh so much. 16 was really beautiful. I get the feeling there’s different directors. Episode 9 also had this same gorgeous shooting in certain spots and I noticed PXR’s styling is a little better too.
For the mansion thing, I think the ghost money everywhere on the ground is what freaking her out. She prob doesn’t…
I enjoy the art of storytelling and film and tend to leave long comments as well so you’re in good company. Feel free to discuss in any of the comments I leave and I’ll definitely answer. I think the stylist for RR is Fang Sizhe right? I think she did Tian Xiwei’s hit drama too. I just don’t like that thick black eyeliner red/pink shadow anime look she does to female leads. Like maybe I’ve developed weird aesthetics like Xie Ze but I like looking at the face not so much the makeup. This plain style is actually growing on me because I feel like each actress looks unique because little has been done to their features , there’s nothing to confuse. I’m also not into MZY. She’s very beautiful but not the type of face I like to watch. I don’t mind Jeremy Xu but I rarely watch dramas for actors so the actress decides the show for me.
Wen Wan was already vicious. She used Nie Sangyu's hand to stab herself to get Nie Sangyu in trouble. This was…
Perhaps the correct term is penance. She’s going vegetarian and praying for NYX everyday just like Sangyu. I don’t feel sorry for her (other than sad about her backstory) it’s just from a storytelling angle, it’s a bit fascinating to watch the transformation.
Light comedy my butt. Director Ze (I actually think it was an assistant director…these episodes were too well…
This show is definitely way smarter than I thought. Seems like the public embarrassment was a red herring. The murder was definitely the end goal and Wen Wan is probably working with Ling. She stole the pendant when she cleaned Ji Man’s room.
Light comedy my butt. Director Ze (I actually think it was an assistant director…these episodes were too well shot and beautiful) go do crime thrillers and detective shows😭. These last two episodes were way too well done in setup. “Good” dramas don’t even have the setup I saw in these last two episodes. It was so good I almost missed out on the acting. I saw some complaints but I feel like the fault lay in dubbing and lighting (also your screen brightness makes a difference whether you see tears or not) because the emotions looked in place.
SORRY for people who like it But it’s my opinion …almost all females exaggerates in acting in this drama,…
I’m not a fan but it’s a trope of Cdrama. Palace/Harem Fight. This is actually low level compared to what to used to go on. They’re used be to entire shows revolving around this concept. Ruyi’s Royal Love in the Pavilion, Legend of Zhen Huan, and Story of Yanxi Palace are some of the bigger names but the trope caught a ban so it’s seen much less now. The book this show is based on has a lot of this. They toned it down like 90%.

I’m trying so hard not call out of work so I can go home and watch this 😭
