Oh, I don’t use Tumblr and can’t seem to access that page. In terms of differences the biggest difference between the book and the drama is the drama beautified LCY and gave XF’s ending more meaning than she had in the book.
I would skip the main book and read the side stories. With the exception of Sese’s side story, they’re less cruel. Watching the drama, its script was more than likely based on the side stories otherwise LCY would be completely flat.

I don’t think there’s an English language one but there are plenty in Chinese. To this day, there are still debates about the drama that get quite a few comments.
For the novel, it’s much crueler than the drama because it’s from Xiao Feng’s perspective but the side stories aren’t. If you can’t stand the main story, the side stories are quite poignant. I think the one thing that will be missed by not reading the book is understanding how and why Xiaofeng fell for Gu Xiao Wu. The Xizhou period is much sweeter in the book.

Weibo has been basically posting Xiao Feng videos every day since the show aired. It’s tragic😑

He’s been looking for NSY since episode 9. Like an earlier poster mentioned, he’s not in the area where she fell so things are probably slower. To add to that in todays episode, we learn that Jiman could get in trouble if the court realises she’s not NSY so the investigation probably also needs to be very careful.

The plot is pretty good but it is all in the details- it takes a lot of paying attention to catch the foreshadowing.

I think it’s difficult for foreigners to get a Weibo account. If you use the Google app on your phone, you can access Weibo and it will translate for you and you won’t need an account if you’re just reading stuff.

That’s a rumored drama and the rumor is quite old meaning it’s probably not true for now. This page doesn’t always verify a drama before it uploads them to the artist’s page.

Luckily, she only has one more drama with them for now. I hope she can work with other platforms in the future. Youku has been sucking her blood for too long without giving her any decent resources in return. I’ve always thought one of Youku’s biggest mistakes was not propping her up during her low period like Tencent propped up ZLS in her early days. Though she doesn’t seem to have a lot of fans on the surface, there are a lot of people who will watch at least an episode or two for her. Give her the proper set-up and I’m sure she would deliver hits.

You have to follow her Chinese fans on Weibo when they post clarification posts. Her story really impresses. She left her successful job as a host to be become an actress and fought to stay in acting to prove herself/repay FBB’s kindness. It’s such a shame sometimes, no one expected her to have acting skills and FBB really seemed to have set her up to be a Top 90s xiaohua. Who knows kind of productions she could have starred in if she had the backing.

I think it’s the director. He seems to really like big expressions and exaggeration to the point of madness sometimes 😂. Look at the opening scene… such a gorgeous scene, full of such powerful acting, and he throws in that bouncing camera😭😂😭. I think if the whole show was shot by who shot these episodes and episode 9, the complaints would be a bit less.

Oh yeah, I never thought about the spreading aspect😮. I think I remember arson being punishable by death in one point of history in one country because fire could take out the whole town due to wooden buildings.
Haha yeah, it’s an idol drama so idol drama logic prevails😂 I think she’s still the servant of the cousin cause Ji Man meets her later.
