Regarding the recent and this morning's discussions about the hot topics surrounding "Phoenix Terrace," I'd like to say a few words .
1. The feeling of "resembling Donggong"
shouldn't be ignored. I also had this feeling when I received the script. I believe it's normal for viewers who have seriously watched both "Donggong" and "Phoenix Terrace" to feel this way. Moreover, this drama did some promotional activities in the early stages that linked with "Donggong." "Donggong" is also a very successful work from a good platform. Yes, I am a PXR fan and yes I like Cangcang. Those who are pissed off by this can stay mad💅

I think imperfect FLs with growth arcs or clear transformations are the most interesting so she is exactly the type of character that I like. People may dislike her stubbornness but I think it’s her biggest charm point. She really dares to love and hate yet she very clearly communicates what she needs from the ML. If he can’t give it, she doesn’t back down.

The comment section says she’s stupid but she helps the male lead save the missing mine children and was actively investigating before he showed up. When she enters the palace, she has enough knowledge of the court to use it to her advantage to get back at Nanny Chang as well as cause the controversy which lands the Phoenix Seal in her hands and she’s smart enough to use the ML’s affection to gain her freedom from the palace. Her wits are still with her when she leaves the palace, ensuring the soldiers make it back to Jiangzhou with the grain it so desperately needs. So what if she gets caught? At least she didn’t kill the innocent Qi residents Minjia was using as shields. She even protects herself and Xiao Huan in the early days of Kumor’s camp by playing it low.

And even though all the men in her life are manipulating her, it’s very clear that if she’s aware of the manipulation, such as with Xiao Ying, she would rather injure herself than be under someone else’s control. And although I know it won’t happen I really wished she could go back to the girl in the beginning who was carefree and wildly roaming the world to wherever her whims took her.

If you don’t like Cangcang that’s fine(there are more and more people defending her anyway) but at the very least, please don’t lie about her actions.

I have honest to God never seen a comment section like this in all my years on MDL. If I don’t like a drama I leave quietly. This is just getting crazy to where people are lying about the plot and characters’ actions.
I’m not even sure why people are so angry…The show has always sold a complicated relationship from the start. There are very few actually happy scenes in any of the trailers.

I guess no one understands what Cangcang did for Xiao Huan in episode 15. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind…

I think it’s wild that people are hating on the FL because they feel she doesn’t love the ML enough. She is a rare FL that understands saying “I love you” isn’t enough. That she has her own requirements for a relationship and won’t budge until her partner meets them. She rejects the concept of “but he’s good to you” that holds so many women hostage. But she’s not without reason either, she’s angry and hurt that he used her to get to her Master but understands the situation enough to guess he probably had his reasons and as way to reconcile asks for the truth. It’s not her fault that he won’t take the olive branch she gave him.
It’s also refreshing to see that she values her non-romantic relationships too. So many women give up everything for a man. Her family is full of villains but if she doesn’t know that then it makes sense to cling to them because in the palace they’re where her power lies and they’re all she has. Hot and cold Xiao Huan is not reliable.
And honestly while everyone says the emperor is protecting her, he’s really using her as a pawn. This whole show he’s been low-key using her to achieve his goals and the show lets the FL take the brunt of it.

There are people who like the show and I really love Cangcang. I think she’s my favourite PXR character. I think some are afraid to comment because of how harsh the environment has been but hang in there. I think more and more people who like the show are posting as things get quieter.

The toxicity is great😭But I think some people came in looking for a healthy relationship.

He still does that in the book. It’s actually worse in the book because I’m pretty sure he forces her to drink it. And what he says to her is pretty awful too because it implies she’s a cheater- it has nothing to do with the dad but LXX.

I think the first time it’s after he faked his own death and the second time it was to deal with the Lingbi sect.

Theres enough content but everything feels long because of the misunderstandings. The problem is they hung onto the Master thing too long. They should have started with Cangcang’s family telling her she needs to have an heir and Xiao Huan rebuffing her at every turn like in the book. Then viewers would have been like why are things like this and the jianghu story could unfold. But Xiao Huan might not be likable this way.

Novel reader here. Yes, they do. They have like 5 kids together and are still having misunderstandings. But that’s how some relationships work. And it doesn’t feel so stressful in the book.

Good guy. He has a complicated relationship with Xiao Huan but helps him out. He’s there for Cangcang after Xiao Huan leaves her alone in the palace for long periods a couple times.

It achieved its purpose which was to let the other soldiers escape with the grain. The grain would help the army and the city. The Kumor arc is really fun. I like Minja a lot.
