It become repetitive. The writers probably didnot have any ideas to writes anymore. Each cases we will had male…
Actually it’s been suggested that these cases are metaphors for the main couple. It may seem like repetition on the surface but they’re actually the different conflicts of identity and thought between the leads being acted out.

I think it was a decision between individual story vs overall story. For the overall story the rumored original ending would have indeed been quite fitting. But I think the chosen ending fits the individual story better because it ties into Ranyi’s promise to see the world with her and his love confession which mentioned stars: "The blue sea is vast, there is no way to go, but I am in the world (Miss Qi); the stars are vast, holding this hand, we travel together in the world (Ran Yi)." He turns himself into a Galaxy for her as they float hand and hand into the unknown- it’s a very romantic last image. GJM was also probably thinking of the mental health of PXR fans😂 Xiao Feng still makes us sad. Don’t know if we could survive another sad ending like that 🙂↕️

Yeah, I guess the idea is will they succeed unlike the other couples? None of them are together. Apparently Ranyi was supposed to disappear and it’s just Miss Qi floating alone in the boat but it was cut.
Not here to start anything but can these people who like competing shows stop coming here to make trouble? Or at least clear your CW list so we can’t see the obvious machinations? Absolute kindergarten tricks🤡

I went to have a think about the books to see if I could give you more info along the lines of the original request and here’s what I could come up with:
Some of the conflicts are because of Cangcang’s temper. Book Cangcang is hot headed/tempered but she’s also self-reflective. So even though she’s a reactionary character, she reflects on her behaviour. She can’t change her true nature so a lot of the times it’s react first but when she calms down, she can think of the overall situation. Especially if someone gives her information to consider. She’s also proactive and willing to fight for what she wants. She doesn’t really wallow around like some FLs might. However on the other side of this, she is stubborn so it takes work to change her mind.
Xiao Huan is steady and much calmer but wants to take everything on himself, especially when it comes to Cangcang. So he often doesn’t or can’t tell people things. Lack of communication is often a big source of conflict in both the real and imaginary worlds. I think he tries once Cangcang begins to call him out but as emperor, I think some things are out of his control and as a husband, I think he feels it’s better to protect Cangcang no matter the consequences to himself. The steadiness also sometimes conflicts with Cangcang’s proactiveness as she may think he isn’t dealing with things seriously or fast enough.
And while these characteristics can sometimes cause misunderstandings, sometimes they can also fix misunderstandings- especially Cangcang’s proactiveness. She often wants to know the truth.
I know it's tagged as romance but... is the romance prominent?
The intense romance seems to be reserved for unit couples while the main couple has a more subtle romantic plot line. It’s a nice way of delivering romance to those who enjoy it but not letting the romance interfere with the core plot. It also gives time for the relationship to build between the main couple without starving the audience. There’s a lot to unpack so it can’t be passionate love at first sight. I would trust the process because the romance of the units is quite well done, that by the time it hits full force in the main couple, it should be a doozy. I feel like it’s going for the slow boiled frog approach.
About the plot, Is it just me or when the show was initially being promoted wasn’t there mention of non-linearity in reference to dreams? Considering one of the main theme is dreams, I think the randomness makes sense because dreams can be coherent and then suddenly veer off. I know GJM’s plots have mixed opinions but I think the messiness some viewers are complaining about is the point. Dreams are messy, to the point that there’s books and websites dedicated to explaining how to interpret them. It could be poor editing but I feel like this could also be an attempt to interpret the plot like one would a dream. What’s real? What’s true? What does this mean? Is this a memory? Is this the future? Or is it all just nonsense? There is definitely a coherent plot as fan-edits have shown. I think the show is leaving it up to the audience to figure it out. Even the random humor kinda makes sense because a dream will be serious and even scary and then the weirdest funny thing will just pop up.😂 Anyway, if this is what GJM has done it’s interesting.
Another treat for beauty hounds🥳 Makeup videos of some of the actresses. It’s interesting to see how detailed and bright the costumes are outside of the filters: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5096651545379404
I came to write the same lol. We all need something new.
Tbh, the whole coffee position thing is a mess. There’s too much smoke and mirrors so I rarely pay attention. Xiao Ran has been a lead actor for a few S and higher dramas lately though so her status can’t be too low.

No, it’s fine. It’s good to see how others think.
Xiao Ran seems to have limited access to scripts so she does the best she can with what she receives. She’s done costume idol and more serious period dramas. The latest drama was a spy catching show.
Based on your definitions of misunderstandings it’s a mix of the two. But they feel logical when it’s between the two leads if not a crazy plot point (the original book doesn’t have a great plot but a lot has been changed in the drama so it should make more sense😅). Xiao Huan doesn’t communicate. It’s probably his only flaw. This leads to a lot of misunderstandings when connected with court schemes. However, what I really like about book Cangcang is that it’s not enough that Xiao Huan loves her but that he needs to meet her emotional needs. And she’s vocal about it. She demands he tells her things to keep her in the know.
I don’t know how smart the script will be but it seems it’s full of melodrama. Many have said it’s exciting too.
Holy shit their costumes are gorgeous. If I came across assassins who look like THAT I'd just let them kill me.…
Killing everyone with their looks😂 This cast list is really crazy. It’s a beauty hound paradise. You have a younger cast which is gorgeous and you also have older beauties like Yan Yikuan too.

I dunno PXR still looks youthful to me and GBMP is full of misunderstandings but is still considered a good show so maybe it’s different for me. I think there’s actually more “silly” misunderstandings in the drama than the book. Plus the general feeling I get from Ling Cangcang is this is the most “grown up” character Xiao Ran has ever played as a heroine. But I get the anxiety. Hope it’s a show that you can enjoy.

They’re not A list though. That’s why they have a hard time getting good scripts. The biggest hope is for the plot. These two have decent acting so if the plot is good, it should attract people.

1) Miss Qi×Ran Yi=the taboo of a human/demon relationship
2)Baize Goddess x Cheng Huang= lovers to strangers
3) Qing Geng x Fei = two opposite but balancing forces
