It really went better than I expected. In the novel, we didn't had many high school scenes. SY and WYF weren't this close during high school as they represented in drama. SY didn't knew why WYF left dancing. Here, he literally searched up a whole place so she could dance. He is so much aware about her past, far more than he was in the novel. Though few things disappointed, but nothing can be perfect. Even with flaws, this is one of the best cdramas I came across.
No one is saying what Yifan did is right by leaving, even she said it herself she was sorry and she was wrong.…
Exactly. She apologized so many times. SY too said that it destroyed him. Both are mature people. They won't let this affect their bright future together. Time don't heal wounds. It just teaches us how to live with it.
I feel the same. I don't think we will ever interact this way again for any show. I literally made an account…
How quickly the time passes. I waited too long for this drama. Used to camp here to see any announcement. The trailer launch was so surprising and exciting. Within three weeks, it ended too.
as much as im gonna miss this drama when it finishes what im gonna miss even more is the sense of companionship…
I feel the same. I don't think we will ever interact this way again for any show. I literally made an account on MDL for interacting and sharing my thoughts. Most of the time, I end up getting disappointed by modern cdramas because of many reasons but thankfully, this show will stay with me for a long time. It has its own flaws but this is one of the dramas that really makes its way into your heart.
When you are handling something broken, you need to be careful with it. Similarly, SY knows WYF is broken. Even in the start of the series, he could feel that she is changed. She is not the same woman he fell in love with once. She was literally surviving, not living. He saw how unhealthily she lived, didn't really care about herself. Rarely cooked for herself. The WYF he knew was not that strong to not even react when she is being chased down by three big men. But instead of crying or something, she was worried that he got hurt. And then, he discovered that she sleepwalks too. This was when he realized something major has happened to her, but he didn't had any idea so he did what he could. He protected her.
SY too wanted his love reciprocated. He is not as selfless as we see. No one is. He lived with her in the hope that maybe, someday she will accept him. He didn't saw love as a give and take. He just knew he loved her, so seeing her happy or doing well was enough for him. He noticed she was not doing well but he had no right to ask her, especially when he knew she had such high walls around herself. Sometimes, giving up on your feelings are hard. SY dedicated his youth to her, could see his feelings were reciprocated but suddenly, the dreams he saw with her were torn apart. He didn't knew the reason. He thought maybe he was not good enough or maybe he really did bother her. It affected his pride.
SY got to know what she had gone through was far worst than what he thought she had gone through. If he made this situation about himself, questioning her why she left him then that would have been out of character for him. He is not a simp. He is someone who has high EQ. He tries to understand her. Opening up is not as easy as it looks like. WYF ran away, and I personally hate it too but it actually helped her a lot. She rediscovered herself. Just because he loves her, he can't really take away all her problems. I know he suffered in these six months, but this time he knew there is a reason she left. This time, he knew she loved him as much as he loved her. Their definition of love vary. For WYF, it is about protecting SY and for SY, it is about loving her.
People saying she might have not called back or came back, the answer was in ep 27. WYF barely had any luggage. She didn't planned to stay forever. She said that she want to be where he is. It means WYF would have gone back, maybe a bit later.
She took medical help too, which states how strong she really is. She became a better herself.
There are many hearts and so is how they love. WYF and SY love each other. They understand each other too. They had known each other for too long that they don't need to speak out everything. They just understand each other that way. Remember, before being WYF's boyfriend, SY had been a close friend to her who understood her without even speaking.
I am so glad WYF took medical help. It was so necessary. Love is not a magical wand which will treat everything. She really needed help and she took it.
She looks so different now. Like there is a shine in her eyes, on her face.
*sigh*I want tomorrow episode to slap some individuals on the face, my clever and brave wyf deserves better :(
She will. I hate how people are calling her weakness. She might have made a decision we don't completely side with, but she is literally the most strongest character.
Bashing on FL and saying she doesn't trust SY or how she don't deserve it is really too much. Stop comparing their love. Two people brought up in two different worlds have two different ideologies towards Love.
I personally don't like this runaway plot but that doesn't mean WYF love SY any less. She literally left because she want to protect him. She has no one except him and ZSQ whom she loves. Complaining to police is a waste because right now, her uncle hadn't done anything severe. The pushing on the wall, the police will just ask for compensation or a few days in jail and the uncle will again come back to hunting her.
In the novel version, CXD was not a very strong villain. In the drama version, he is more creepy and brainy. He got a job at the same tv station WYF work at. He disrupted SY's business and he is hunting her down for the so called revenge. He had not done anything that WYF can ask to change the watch man. She can't go around announcing that this man had almost SA her. Working there is not safe. She knows this man is dangerous and will go to any length just to harm her, so maybe to buy herself time to think, she went to HK. She didn't exactly broke up with him. It was more like a separation. SY knows they haven't broken up, that is why he went to police station or introduced himself as her boyfriend at workplace. The letter could have been long, but WYF is never a woman of many words too.
As much as I love SY, he has anger issues at times. WYF trusts him. She knows that he will believe her but she is not ready to open up about it. CXD has said derogatory words towards WYF and SY literally almost killed him. SY himself is so badly injured. If police is involved into it, SY will have to pay the price. Even his generational money won't save him.
I know how people are unhappy with six months leap but rather than being irritated, look at the brighter side. SY traced back to all those times, looking at how miserably WYF lived. WYF herself called SY, telling him about her whereabouts. She will open up to him too. She messaged that CXD too.
Her coping mechanism is not running away to protect herself this time. It is to protect her loved ones. Stop blaming her for what she did years ago. It was a necessary. She needed to get rid of that bitch* mother. She was suffering and dragging SY with her will not be right decision. SY was a teenager at that time. He couldn't have understood the complications of situations the way he understand now. He loves her because she deserves to be loved by him.
I feel this was also a way to reconnect her to Ballet, a dream she lost young. She might not continue being a ballerina but she looked so happy teaching those kids and meeting SY again. Another addition of how rather than anyone else save her, she literally jumped off the balcony to save her dignity.
How can a mother be so heartless? Her own daughter is crying and begging to her own mother to get her away from…
Not just assaulted, WYF jumped off the building, she was injured too but that woman didn't even bat an eye. And again she had nerve to say she don't approve WYF's relationship with Sang Yan.
I won't ever be able to hate her. My love for her is greater. The writing really sucked. I wish she said in the…
The writing sucks at this point. The letter could have been better but Missy wrote four lines and left. If you are leaving, make efforts to atleast write a full page letter.
While I empathize with Wen Yifan *I do* think this plotline was very unnecessary and does not make much sense…
I won't ever be able to hate her. My love for her is greater. The writing really sucked. I wish she said in the letter that she needs time for herself or she will come back soon. Ghosting the person you claim to love is so so wrong. This was so flawed.
These two episodes were so hard to watch. I understand you won't stick to novel but changing the most important arc, which drove two characters closer is worst. I was prepared for angst but not when both will be miles away from each other with no contact. I understand her need to protect others too but running away to a completely different place, leaving behind a letter for a man you had already hurt in the past. She couldn't report to police but how can she leave everything behind like that. This arc seemed so unnecessary. It was not even to stretch the drama, it was pure bad writing or the screenwriter didn't understand the character.
You are sticking to novel for small details and deviating at the crucial point. If she had ran away and even written in letter that she would come back soon or needed time for herself, I would have understood but this was seriously out of the box.
Till now, I understood every flaw of her character but leaving behind everything, the man who gave you every reason to not give up on them, loved you like breathing and you ghosted him for so many months.
And she jumped off the building to protect herself. Rather than anyone saving her, she did it by her own. I liked this bit. She injured her feet too.
Being SY is painful. Man have few moments of happiness and then he is ghosted again.
