What were some of your fav iconic scenes besides the “iconic scenes”?
Mine was in ep 5. She points the arrows at herself, makes NH take off his clothes and tells him to call her dad/daddy (subtitles said “Queen” but baba means dad😆), she then reveals the dynamite, kisses him, then makes him climb out the window🤣🤣🤣 Everytime NH thought he outsmarted her, she shocked him with something else. I’ve rewatched that scene so many times.
Chang Long who plays Nan Rui deserves some acting recognition! I’ve seen him in only one other drama, “The rise of Phoenixes” and he basically played the same goofy character.
But I just rewatched the last ADWAD episodes and was blown away by his Nan Rui in ep 35. His portrayal of an utterly broken and betrayed NR was spectacular. Like excuse me, where did that emotional depth come from?! Never would’ve thought I would rewatch a NR scene over and over again👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I really enjoyed the begging and middle of this. The humor, the acting...But skipped so much of the last episodes.…
I agree. At the very least, CGH should’ve been sentenced to lots of lashes for the severity of attempted murder🤦🏻♀️ Song Yude was sentenced to receive 30 just for refusing an imperial edict…how did CGH get off scot-free?😒
What are we watching next gang? Ill be starting The Prisoner of Beauty today, then will be in Coroner’s Diary.…
TPOB was good but I feel like if you watched this first, the ML, Wei Shuo, might be underwhelming. Lol. I was swooning for Wei Shao but Nan Heng definitely is another level.
A very unique story!! 🥰❤️ I really enjoyed the ride. On to the next one. ❤️
What are you watching next? I wanted to start the princess gambit but after reading the comments on that page, I’m not too hopeful…especially after loving this one so much.
i wished someone had driven home to him that the reason he chose to remain so bitter even after all the evidence…
Yeah, he hated NH to the bitter end which made me less sympathetic..if he would’ve been philosophical or questioned if everyone was truly free, to tie in the “script within Script” scene, then yeah, I would’ve jumped on the CGH sympathy train….as it was, he still blamed NH🤦🏻♀️
I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY PASSED THE CENSORSHIP with song yimeng ended herself repeatedly
Edit: I think she only killed herself once…maybe it’s because of the “script within a script scene”, it was allowed. If I remember correctly, SOKP also had something similar that was allowed due in part to the story being shown as fiction when they introduced the “writer” in that story
I think it’s because there was a lot of hype and anticipation for The Princess Gambit also, which was airing at the same time…I’m glad iqiyi released ADWAD but it would’ve done better if it wasn’t competing against another big drama😞
Now that ADWAD is over, I’m sad. I was very hyped for only 2 dramas this year: Feud and ADWAD and both came out already😭. Definitely LYN is killing it. His dramas AJTL, TPoB, and now ADWAD are in my top 10 cdramas. He really knows how to pick out a good script.
Thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts, feelings, and speculations. It was so interesting and entertaining to read how different our views were despite watching the same thing!
I was confused but realized it’s because I used “omfg”…it’s just an expression we use quite often here…we arent really cursing God…but I get what you saying
OMG!!!!!!😭😭😭 So i saw again a clip again after someone send it here days ago. It's about Shang Guan He…
I knew it!!!! I ‘ve never seen the clip and I don’t want too since the express episodes are coming..but the drama was setting up for either his or NR’s death….it can’t be himmmmmm!!!😭😭😭😭
Also great to see that Song Yude is the best father in drama land! The typical troupe is to have the noble families scheme to marry their daughters into the royal family…but neither he or his daughters want anything to do with a forced political marriage..and that’s so refreshing to see!!!!

*sigh* great times….

It was PERFECT…the BEST ENDING EVER!!!❤️❤️❤️
