CGH is the military powerhouse behind Nan Rui. Without CGH support, the 18th prince would have no one to protect him if he were to become the official crown prince…also, The emperor is in a constant state of fear of losing power and being overthrown. He needs the Chus to keep Nan Heng and the Gao Family in check, thus trying to promote CGH into a higher position

Nan Rui is something else!🤦🏻‍♀️ If he really believed that NH wouldn’t be punished then Nan Rui should’ve taken the blame then…make something up and tell CGH that he foolishly intercepted the message because he didn’t want to CGH to forgive NH but now he sees the error of his ways..but NOOOO…gotta ask NH to take all the blame. Like Nan Rui, if you want NH to lie, what is wrong with your mouth where you can’t tell one too “to make things better?”

lol. I can tell you’ve watched a lot of C-dramas..but that’s my worst fear, that this will have a quick reunion and that’s the end😭

Yeah. I think CGH will stab NH then SYM will stab CGH, and she’ll be the only one not hurt. This will probably make CGH realize that it really is over between them and he’ll go after her family. CGH probably won’t be successful with killing her dad but I think the step mom will still die. I also think he’ll be throwing SYM off the terrace in front of NH😳

NR gets too much credit. Lol. I hope he does turnout to be some brilliant mastermind because I would be shocked!!!….there have been no hints so far about him being intelligent. So far, he’s just giving off useless character vibes and comedic fodder🤦🏻‍♀️

My theory is:

Just base off the preview for 29/30, the emperor will realize he’s been a douche and has been driving NH into a corner this whole time and it’s given rise to CGH. In order to keep CGH in check, Emperor will side with NH, surprising CGH, and NH ultimately wont get implicated in the Pingrong battle. CGH will absolutely go bonkers and will be the cause of iconic scenes: stabbing at the wedding, Song family death scene, and SYM terrace jumping scene.

Edit: CGH in his craziness and realization that NR isnt just going along anymore, kills NR in another attempt to frame NH and make the emperor act. Original script alludes to NH killing his dad and brother but everything has shifted to CGH, so CGH is likely responsible for emperor’s death too…ironically making NH the new ruler

The Emperor is shooting himself in the foot. Now that NH and the Gao family have fallen from grace, who’s gonna keep CGH in check? CGH got a lot of nerve to even suggest using noble consort to the emperor..like dude, that’s still his consort/wife. If the emperor wanted to use her, he would’ve but he didn’t!🤦🏻‍♀️ It would be karma if CGH is the one to rebel cause the emperor’s dumb self set that up and paved the way for him😬

Yes , I agree...Gosh..I loved SYM in ep 5 (I think it’s ep 5) where she points all the arrows at herself…then counters NH with the explosives bit…she was so funny and witty then!..but where did that FL go? Instead of keeping up her momentum, we got a shell of a SYM after that😭

I don’t like to compare but TPOB and this one came out too close together…the stark difference between the two FL are so apparent😞

Not that I hate her..just that I don’t care for her. I’ve read the directors comments, all the comments supporting her, and understand every point you made, but despite that, SYM, as a character, was abandoned somewhere along the way to make NH the hero. Again, that’s the dramas fault. Unfortunately, if SYM is pitting herself against NH, me as the viewer, am gonna choose NH just because he’s the more sympathetic character and shown the most growth. I’m still hopeful for SYM tho..like I am so rooting for what she does the remainder of her time in the script but it’s just the same story over and over again.😞

I’m also talking about NH visiting Shangguan twice while imprisoned: one from 3 years ago and and the one from a few days ago, and both times he tried helping Shangguan…CGH is right in his suspicion but NH turned those scenarios around and accused CGH of planning it to kill him during those times too. Lol. Like NH is always a step ahead.

The amount of gaslighting NH does on CGH 🤣 CGH is technically right about NH and his involvement with the WRC Gang..but the fact that NH can make it sound like CGH was attempting to assassinate him is next level mental gymnastics🤣

Totally agree! Idk if it’s the editing, the script, the directing or what, but somewhere long the way, the FL was lost. Instead of a strong, smart FL, SYM is just so wrong 90% of the time…then they show the ML as a lonely, outcasted, and misunderstood person who is still trying to overcome all this displaced hatred from everyone…LIKE REALLY?!?! This is her “bad guy”? Her “nemesis”???🙄 He’s equivalent to a puppy who’s been run over multiple times…and all she wants to do is hurt him even more

I’m one of the ones that is not liking SYM currently. I think the problem is within the drama itself. They shifted the focus to NH and didn’t give SYM matching opportunities to shine. Figuratively, I feel like she is stagnant while everyone is moving along and evolving.

It kills me to say this but I like everything about this drama except for how the FL is written. I’m usually FL-centric. Initially, I was all for her but as time goes on, when comparing her to other characters in ADWAD, she is the most limited in her thinking and has the least character development at 24 episodes in. As a character, it’s the scripts’ fault…but it’s IRONIC that this drama had a self-aware FL but didn’t write her better or have her do more was a missed opportunity.

I’m not trying to hate on SYM BUT unfortunately, I have to hold her to the standard she set herself up to be…always talking about knowing what’s going to happen🤦🏻‍♀️ well…again, NOT trying to be rude but, if you’re gonna be a “know it all”but then not know s@&!…then yeah…your character is annoying! I’m literally wondering why would a drama do a FL dirty like that?

Sorry. I just had high hopes. ML has met expectations and I’m so bummed FL did not. It would’ve been a great drama if SYM was better but here I am not giving a damn about her

Cue the trope where, in the last episode, it’s chaos for 40 min and the ML dies..the last 5 min, he somehow comes back…brief reunion….and the end credits come on😭
