The novel didn’t have them together. She was actually having an affair with the married guy who hit on her. They changed her character and added the romance with HT’s friend and JX’s partner.

I actually think I see this for both XK and TSY. I think it’s because they don’t really conform to the CP thing. For XK, there’s just something about his antis that I never really understood. TSY too as she gets attacked for because she doesn’t fit their mainstream idea of beauty. For me, TSY is beautiful and a great actress that can hold her own. I love actors and actresses who do their own thing and rise in their careers on their own terms. They remind me of my favorite K-actress Lee Seyoung who is the same way.

They’re two separate ones Xiao Bai and Dr Cloud. ZD’s company is separate from Han Ting’s. Just like the novel, he invested in ZD’s company. His plan is to take over (M&A) ZD’s company to have both Xiao Bai and Dr. Cloud, but don’t know if that will happen or if they will follow the novel and he sells his shares of ZD’s company to his competitor in exchange for XJ’s company. I haven’t watched ep 8 yet.

His character won’t cheat but he makes a clean break and moves on with a former classmate. LiLi knew the classmate had an interest in him and kinda linked them up so FL and her had a rough patch in their friendship. They’re making it messy in the drama by having SYC’s new love interest be FL’s friend. To me that’s weird but this is the second time I’ve seen that happen (it was same in drama Be Together but at least the ex isn’t the enemy douche in this one).

He doesn’t betray her. He just realized that they were going on 2 different paths and what he wanted she couldn’t be so he chose to break up. You can see that already start happening.

Yes,,,so far she doesn’t fit the picture of the ZD from the novel unless they change her wardrobe later. The personality but not the image that I had of ZD in the novel. I’m not sure if it’s how she talks but I ffw her in TSOML too. 🤷🏻♀️
They changed the dynamics a bit when they changed Shao Yichen’s career. He was in the same field and had similar goals but used a different path from JX. Rather than rushing towards his own business, he went the slower route of climbing the corporate ladder. He was also lucky that his company had better leadership. Since he’s an orthopedic surgeon, I wonder if his hospital will be part of clinical trials for the 3-D medical equipment.

Got it. I was trying to figure out why she was using the Eldest Princess as the scape goat since it seemed they got along. I’ll have to rewatch that part. I get Empress Xu wants her son as CP/Emperor but she was already living in luxury and power since she was made Empress when the former Empress (CP’s mom) died but I guess that’s greed for you.
