That’s a change from the novel. In the novel, SYC almost completely disappears after the breakup and only briefly shows up twice. In the novel, he was also in the tech industry. I think in the drama, they made him a doctor so they can keep him appearing more later if he’s part of the clinical trials.

No, in the novel, it was an old school mate who had a crush on STC in college. She had just broke off with her cheating fiancée and pursued SYC when she found out from LiLi that SYC was single again. She was LiLi’s friend so LiLi kind of a matchmaker which caused tension between JX and LiLi because it was not long after the break-up and JX was thinking that they could still get back together until she heard he was seeing someone else already. Wei Qiuzhi was dating her blind date who happened to be a younger intern in her office. All the secondary couples are new for the drama a light changes to the characters of all JX’s bffs.

Lu LiXia is “Xiao Shu” to HT which is father’s side. If he was Xiao JioJio, then that would be the mother’s side. Lu LinXia is HT’s father’s 1st cousin as his mom is HT’s grandfather’s younger sister.

Lu LinXia’s mom is HT’s grandfather’s younger sister so she’s in his grandfather’s generation. Lu LinXia is the same generation as HT’s father so he is his Uncle (western standards - second cousin). In a lot of Asian cultures, forms of address and hierarchy is generational. That’s how I have uncles and aunts that are the same age as me or younger.

When Lu LinXia has children, they will be in the same generation as HT so will be his cousins. HT’s children will call Lu LinXia’s kids Uncle/Aunt. I know this is weird in the western concept.

I know in the novel he moved on quick…but it seemed more out of loneliness that grew into caring while the new girl loved him. Then he wasn’t really part of the story anymore. Drama may be different since he’s listed as a main.

I watched the ending credit again and it looked like the wedding between SYC and WQ was happy but there was a scene that showed SYC absently staring into air looking regretful while WQ was folding clothes. I’m guessing that scene is before the wedding since he was still in love with JX when he met up with LiLi.
