Even when Nanon's acting is lacking, it stills seems charming in a way? Idk he has this kidish/child like vibe to him so it's like "you're doing great hon." I feel like a mom fan or something.
I find it kind of funny that the real Erng was just like of dropped. Like Mew didn't really seem to care to much about restarting a relationship with the real erng. He went to mend it and apologize, but not much else. It would've been interesting if they had dealt with both Erngs and the positions within the friend group.
The lighting, music, & overall tone were amazing. This show feels neo retro and reminds me of a 80's or 90's reminiscence show. It kind of reminded me of the first season of Stranger Things in that sense (lighting and nostalgic tone).
So even if the plot is lacking, watch it for the vibess
This is not an enemies to lovers drama. This is an abusive toxic Stockholm drama disguised as one. The ML isn't…
The ML MURDERS her child!!! He believes her to have betrayed him and gotten pregnant from an affair. So he forces her to drink something that KILLS HER UNBORN CHILD!!
Literally what?? The writers on this show obviously had some issues, because there is no way that is excusable and can be written off as an enemies to lovers move. IT IS NOT.
This is not an enemies to lovers drama. This is an abusive toxic Stockholm drama disguised as one. The ML isn't a bad guy with a secret heart of gold, he's straight up horrendous and we're supposed to want them to be together. Even with these types of tropes, there are lines that aren't crossed, but the ML crosses them all. Read below for the worst thing he did.
Interesting plot, but horrible execution. Could've been a comedic action movie with some dark underlayers, but it just feels like the writers threw together something. Like the pacing and sequence of events are just strange? It just feels off, it doesn't feel like an actual movie for some reason. Only thing I enjyoed about this movie was Yi Kyung's perforamce, but he wasn't in it much.
An hour of the movie feels like an indie movie about a small town then the sudden switch to a disaster movie feels like whiplash. They spent too long on characters without even fleshing them out.
I aboslutely love this webtoon. Jihoon did such a great job in weak hero, he'd be perfect for this role too. It's that unassuming evil type of thing. He's soo good at it.
The plot felt too busy but too slow at the same time. It feels like the writers had a checklist of supernatural rom-com traits so add but it just didn't work. They went back and forth from melodrama to rom-com without either of them fitting that well. They would have so much build up but then the climax was always so boring and pointless. The leads romance made sense, but in a boring way. Even the side characters romance was better, had more chemistry, and more development in less time.
It had a fun plot, but they didn't give enough backstory and it just felt like a college drama more than one that featured a very interesting mythical character. So it's more of a filler drama. 7/10 for me.
I say go and watch my girlfriend is a gumiho instead
Just watched this with my mom last night and it was so fun! I love wacky hong kong movies. They make no sense half the time and that's what makes them great. Also I love Stephen Chow <3
