While the journey follows Fan Xian, in the drama, the two princes and the female lead have received considerably more dialogue and storyline development.

Although we know that some romantic elements will be introduced in the next episode, the story hasn’t truly become romantic yet. The storyline closely follows both the donghua and the novel. I agree that the audience for each is different. What often confuses people is that when they love one, they tend to make comparisons and fail to appreciate each art form separately. Donghua offers visual effects that live-action dramas can't match, while dramas allow for a deeper connection with the human actors. Novels give us the freedom to use our imagination. It’s like comparing oranges, apples, and pineapples – they’re all good, but they each have a unique taste. Personally, I prefer donghua, but everyone has their own preference.
