Oh I figured as much with the spoilers I have seen, doesn’t stop me from getting disappointed. We pretty much know how it all ends and I enjoy dissecting the characters. Also makes me feel like I can influence the outcome even though it’s set and weirdly enough, even though they are fictional characters I feel like they are real people (kudos to the amazing writing)

This is where I am conflicted sometimes. While I swoon over LBY, the revenge arc is killing me so it makes me think about YS, how they would get along (if he lets go of his fan and act sweeter with CSS). YS offers a stable, less conflict, yet not that boring kind of love. CSS would not even have to worry about the royal conflicts and family in law issues.

It’s definitely not easy. Part of me still thinks that he shouldn’t even started anything with CSS (but whee would our love story be at lol). Revenge can be achieved if he stopped at justice, bringing the culprits to the public and getting their titles stripped , tortured and jailed for life. Bec choosing that dark option won’t bring his family back and reverse his aunt’s condition.

Its not expecting perfection but becoming a bigger person. Like what the emperor said, if everyone take action with their own hands, what’s the purpose of having laws?

I can argue both sides of the fence as they have a troubled past and even if they did have a normal upbringing, couples still can be selfish and disregard their partners feelings.

In this very specific scenario though, while the desire for revenge is consuming him, he chose to involve CSS in his life. Promised a lifetime of love, care, and protection. She took her time to like him back and started to slowly trust him while mentioning honesty is one of her staple asks. He disregarded that somehow by continuing an illusion of happiness while he is besotted with a dark plot.

I love LBY don’t get me wrong. But I also think when he signed up to have a relationship, he should have been more considerate of CSS. Even when he probed to understand what CSS would do in cases of revenge, she responded she understood and can be petty , would return it 1000x. BUT looked at him at like this a decision while comparing 2 sides.

To me, it seemed he chose revenge over her/their love. And my heart is broken bec of that.

You can’t get everything you want in this world, but you can also not change anything in the past. Would you choose to carry out revenge that will give you momentary happiness/ satisfaction over a lifetime of happiness with the person you love.

YS finally showing true emotions and owning up his feelings. My heart 💔a little and I emphatized with his dilemna.

Being in a broken family is hard and it affects your view of relationships. So I can totally see why he is cynical of marriage.

He had to witness all these sweet moments too and my heart bled a little more for him. Must be difficult to have unrequited love.

He is not a favored ML but I still can’t help but like him a bit. FL was totally ruthless in calling him out too. LOL. Cannot be helped if you dislike a person, instinct kicks in and you don’t care about the person’s feelings.

I love that our main couple is learning to compromise now and starting to communicate better. Starting to recover from my disappointment and excited to see how this further develops.

LBY hint about the revenge was to see CSS’s thoughts on it. As if he is trying to justify what he is planning to do. Her response was for me, encouraged him to go on.

It’s not easy to let go of a tragic past and without much support from childhood- its impossible to reverse that now even with her in his life…

Honestly, I have the same feelings. Was disappointed how he handled that and I get that he feels CSS is holding back. The secrets he should have understood, as you said he is the same. It was unfair and while the situation was cute with the emperor intervening, I felt it didn’t have to go that extent. But its a drama so flamboyant scenes are expected when an adult conversation could have sufficed.

Their background is to blame for that and both of them don’t trust people easily. Yeah I find it ironic that he expects her to be fully transparent when he can’t do the same.

My poor heart… Ep 38 is the best so far for our main CP’s relationship development. My thoughts are all over the place at the moment and maybe unpopular opinion… but I have to let it out.

Have to admit that fight was necessary to fully open CSS’s ❤️ to LBY. She was holding back due to trust issues and as part of an attempt to not lose her independence. She doesn’t understand yet that being in a relationship also means acting as one, giving in/compromising in certain situations and resists as she thinks she will lose her personality. I think it’s a valid reaction and LBY should try to understand this about her. Butting heads will not result to anything good.

I also feel that her strong desire to be recognized for her own abilities is clouding her judgement thus, it’s also causing her to undermine her man’s ability to protect her. LBY is having trouble dealing with the feeling of helplessness and cannot be expected to standby if his love is in trouble.

My girl is a 21st century woman indeed-
independent, strong willed and ambitious. LBY is still on the traditional side and though he is attracted to these traits, his actions are not following suit.

So I’m conflicted if I like how he schemed to get her to admit her true feelings and to trust him.

Their relationship did not follow a normal route. He did force her to be with him and not win her over first. For me, her actions is a direct result of that, she likes him but deeper emotions do need time to develop. He really can’t expect her to reciprocate immediately after proposing.

I gushed at their intimate moments, mainly because LBY was truly vulnerable. He is a completely different person with her and that devotion is a once in a lifetime, rare trait. That kiss (however brief it was 🥲) was so tender and he respects her enough to hold back (this is where I realize its fiction lol).

I wish they spend more time getting to know each other and do away with all those royal conflicts. But I know enough with the spoilers that we will not get that. Aahhhhh, sometimes I wish this is a pure romance drama. LOL.

But Ah Fei, you are very consistent. A breath of fresh air everytime!
