All of this is in accordance to what I said, except FL knowing about the bride swap thing isn't right. She actually thought she was going to marry LCX that day, she was shocked when the swap happened too. She knew about an earlier swap plan, but that was off the table before the mothers-in-law secretly decided in the end to go ahead with it anyway.

Wasn't the scene of Shen Run with the county princess the day before the wedding, when later that night she gets drunk? Why was SML saying in that day scene "My mother keeps urging me to decide on the design of the wedding clothes"? Bruh, it's tomorrow! [Edit: I'm pointing out the lack of attention to such an obvious detail.]

Btw, they were going to buy "Eastern pearls", while she was feeling an emptiness on her belt because her Jade piece was missing. (Same metaphor Shen Run used, where LCX is eastern pearls and SR is Jade)

None of the characters here are real-life-like. It's dramatic coz it's a drama, and for entertainment purposes, the leads are normally shown to have certain superior characteristics which may sometimes even seem superhuman. If the makers expect viewers to have this take, that it's so flawed coz it's real, then that should be done in a completely different way, and not like the mess done here. It's just an excuse for poor writing.

He wasn't in any way forcing her if he brought the grant, she already showed she wanted him so bad.

In a way he was asking her how she could marry someone else when she has feelings for him. Only when she expressed jealousy for him, he stole a kiss. He was probably going to end it there, bro had no clue she would jump on to him like that! He definitely wasn't ready for it.

So Shen Run asks her to wait for him again, this time he gets an emperor's edict to grant XQY to him in marriage, which shall come at a cost (that's what I'm guessing from the previews and the exchange between SR and the guy that's keeping a watch on him.).

But he was soo late! What if she was already married before he comes with the imperial grant?

Oh, I guess that was the role of Shen Che there. Delay the wedding rites till he arrives maybe? And he didn't need to take action coz the wedding didn't happen anyway.

Also, the way we kept saying he's enjoying the Xie Family drama, he actually claps and says it 😂

Story wise, this drama has gone on wtf mode.
For the sake of twists and turns, they're just doing anything now, regardless of whether it makes sense or not. If eps 20-23 weren't enough, watch the previews of eps 24 and 25. There's more weird stuff to come.

Agree with it all. XK is an incredible actor but hasn't received the recognition he deserves, and is often targetted.

Ep 20, after that ABSOLUTE CINEMA of an entrance and the blood bath, everyone's in fear of Shen Run and then, when the funeral show is over, the way he gets down and very gently holds her hands and lifts her, is such a contrast of behaviour! It exudes - I may be shrewd and ruthless for the world, but for you is all my gentle love and loyalty. 🫠❤️
