EVERYTHING WAS PERFECT BUT end felt too fast.... wanted little more. But overall I loved it😭 now this made…
I've started some time ago to watch anime, I love them now. There is one named "Yubisaki to Renren - A Sign of Affection", based on a manga first published in 2019 and still going. The anime started on 6th January, one episode every Saturday and aired 3 episodes now already. There are in all 12 episodes and I can't wait for the next episode to be aired. I think that you might like it if you try :)
He's such a great actor! And really handsome :) It was amazing to watch him and Kim Ji Hyun (Seo Kyung) using the sign language, two hearing actors conversing so fast and natural in sign language. How much effort to learn it to that degree to look genuine? Great actors are able to go really great lengths preparing for some special roles.
I was thinking that they will be able to use the sign language all their lives now. Something really useful if coming into a situation in real life where it's necessary to use it, to help somebody in need.
My husband is 9 years younger than me. And we've been married for 21 years now and still going strong. Age is only a number. But I think that in Western culture these age differences are easier accepted. One very important factor in Asian culture is the interference of parents in their children's lives, especially when they want to marry.
Jin Woo is a character in late 40's. How could a 20 or 30 years old actor play him? Did you even watch the series or you only saw some pictures? Because if you watched the series, you couldn't come out with some assertion.
Thank you! The amount of people in these comments lacking media literacy and basic empathy is concerning. Plus,…
It is not worth it even to read anymore their aberrations. I have discovered at least 2 (maybe 3) names he/she is using, both in the same thread. One saying something, the other answering "Lovely!" :)) God knows how many usernames impersonates in here at the same time. Provocative and nonsensical, people tend to use time and energy to answer in good faith, believing that they are dealing with someone genuine. I have called him/her on both names in one comment and I got blocked by both, a few seconds apart. :)) A troll. If you start a debate with them it never stops, coming with the most absurd and foolish (to be gentle) arguments and can become quite rude. You don't know anything, he/she knows everything. Don't waste your precious time and good faith on this kind. An advice from a friend :)
Yeah, but you know, in the real life if someone tells you, I will love you until I hate you, which one day may…
Never say never. Only when you are in that situation you understand how it is possible. You and your partner are 2 different entities, you can answer for yourself but never for the partner. You don't know what will happen in 2 hours, but in few years? Ja, that bla bla you say here we all know: "work together", "overcome...", etc. Until you or the partner don't. People change.
Yes, there are a lot of divorces. But nobody starts a relationship thinking "I will break up/divorce one day". Everybody goes in a relationship hoping it will last forever. I've been married for 21 years now, I know what I am saying here. And was divorced once, when I was young. So... I speak from my experience, not from movies or books. I laugh at your slogans. There are NO RULES.
Never lecture people about these things. We live different lives, have different stories. Yours is not standard because there isn't something like that. You don't decide what love is or how it should be. Any person understands and feels in own way. Don't bother answering me. I will block you, "martamina". Or shall I say "Emilia_K"?
because she was afraid to express to him, your disability can be a problem for me. you really think it's easy…
It's like Moeun killed somebody, so much hate that it's leaking through the screen. The character is written to be like that, a woman with flaws, with weaknesses, not being able to confront the problems, a coward, etc. And it was great played if provoked such strong reaction. It's not that we have to love her, it's Jin Woo who does that and forgive her. If she was so terrible and horrible, he would have never been back to her. Isn't this enough? Some people take everything literally while a lot of dialogs and statements are metaphors. Difficult to communicate in these circumstances. Love your "non violent communication" :)
Yeah, but you know, in the real life if someone tells you, I will love you until I hate you, which one day may…
I am old enough and experienced. Older than Jin Woo :)
Some people here are very strong headed, if you try to say your opinion it's like speaking to a wall. You get an echo of own words, coming in waves again and again, without an end :) And I have learnt something: the loudest here have "multiple personalities", using 2 or maybe 3 usernames. They even talk to eachother :) If you read down the page, you will see, it's obvious. Only trolls do that.
Yeah, but you know, in the real life if someone tells you, I will love you until I hate you, which one day may…
But it's so true. Who can guarantee you that you'll be together with your loved one all your life? Can you swear that you'll love to your death your current partner or they will love you till you/they die? Life gives no guarantees, this is the idea. You know where you are now - do you know where you'll be in 10 years?
Jin Woo broke up with her because he knew the situation will go at that point where they'll start hate eachother. He said "stop" in time, they would miss eachother and long for eachother, instead of hate eachother. And if they meet again in the future, they would have something to build on instead of running away from eachother - as you say :)
I knew the writers would mess this up one way or the other. It was too good to be true, lol. FL delusional thinking…
She annoyed me big time too at first, after she started to change. I thought exactly the same: a grown up, over 30, behaving like that? Ridiculous! But then I tried to understand why she started to change, to look behind facts, what is the motor of her changes and I started to give her some credit.
And where did she reflect, that what she did was very wrong? That the real problem was that she hurt him deeply?…
1. She didn't know he was waiting the whole day looking at the phone. WE saw him doing that, not she. But she apologized at some point for ignoring his calls and messages.
2. She didn't let him explain. True. And I agree on this point. BUT his explanations came a little too late. Moeun was in some awkward situations already until that point, she grew anger and frustration. She saw Jin Woo and Seo Kyung few times talking in the street and she couldn't understand what was about. The fact that he was not ferm with Seo Kyung, to draw a line and tell her "Stop", made Moeun to loose her faith in him. Remember he was at the police with Seo Kyung and Moeun found out about that from others. When she arrived there the two were talking and she was feeling like an outsider. Actually, every time she saw them talking she felt left outside. More of that, she saw him signing "I don't want to speak about past, it's too painful". What did she understand from this? She didn't ask anymore about his past events. From here a lot of misunderstandings. When she told him she saw Seo Kyung going inside his house that rainy night, he was shocked and apologized. But he didn't tell her about that if she hadn't told him that she saw. Do you think it's ok? And then he wanted to explain and for her was too late. And she started to be changed. We know what happened in his house that night, but Moeun didn't. Give her some credit, please.
3. He was guilty in some parts. Not because he is deaf but because he hid facts that were important for her, letting her feel left out and sometimes thinking that Seo Kyung is more important to him. Lack of communication from him made all this harm on her. She arrived in that "distructive" point (as you like to name it) building bit by bit, he having a big part of guilt in that.
4. I said before. That bloody dream - was unnecessary to speak about it but that was the point when he decided to break up, I think. It became hard to him to watch her being unhappy. Better to break up at that point and not "starting to hate eachother"... understand now? :)
And where did she reflect, that what she did was very wrong? That the real problem was that she hurt him deeply?…
Well ... he forgave her. That's him to do that and not us :) Apologising has sense in some situations and in some it's superfluous. Depends on the situation. "Sorry for breaking your heart" it sounds stupid to me. And words are nothing if they are not sustained by actions. I would prefer to see that the person is sorry than to hear it. We all make mistakes. It's up to the person you've wronged if they can forgive you or not. Jin Woo forgave Moeun. I am happy with that.
And where did she reflect, that what she did was very wrong? That the real problem was that she hurt him deeply?…
Go all the way to the end. It's worth it. Beautiful drama. Excellent actor, I hope he will be awarded for it. And very handsome :) Was watching his "dialogues" with Seo Kyung, two hearing actors speaking in sign language. It's a great performance for both of them, to learn the sign language at that level. There must be no mistakes in their conversation to be genuine.
And where did she reflect, that what she did was very wrong? That the real problem was that she hurt him deeply?…
Your hate for her stops you to see objectively. Do you think if she was THAT distructive, would he still want to be with her? He was sorry because he saw her not being herself and depressed and trying to put a normal face, but he knew she was unhappy. She said "Watching me saying I'm okay without a smile on my face". That's why he broke up. For her sake not for his. Give her some credit. Think that she helped him to find his mother. She was not THAT bad. That monologue is about missing arms, put "hearing" instead of arms... It's a figure of speech. It's not a long stretch, she spoke there her mind and soul. He could see that.
And where did she reflect, that what she did was very wrong? That the real problem was that she hurt him deeply?…
The opening of 16th ep, her voice from off... There is her reflection. "Love means never having to say "I'm sorry" " - he knew everything she felt, every her thought, all she hated and missed when she was with him. She didn't even need to tell him about her dream. He knew the place she was, not a very nice one. Understood and forgave the same thing on Seo Kyung if you remember, when he told his best friend "Now I understand how hard it was for her (Seo Kyung)". How do you want her to show remorse? Kiss his feet? He didn't need to see her remorse, for him not that is important. Important is now and here, did she make peace with herself, can she now accept his deafness and all it comes with it? Can she be happy with a man like him (with all his flaws not only deafness)?
The words she said on that stage were the proof that she felt remorse, understood her own mistakes, grew up and became ready for him. There was no need for other words, he came to her, introduced himself like "Let's forget what happened and let's start all over again". In the meantime, their personal issues were solved, JinWoo's roots, Moeun's mother, they made peace with themselves too.
That question many people ask, about they love eachother until they start to hate eachother: who can give you guarantees in life that your relationship will hold until you die? Who can guarantee that in few years your love for your partner is the same and doesn't go out like a flame? You have to do your best but there are no guarantees in life. Maybe they'll never hate eachother. Only 2 things are guaranteed in life: taxes and death :))
P.S.: and if she told her mother that she hurt him, what was the outcome? Could her mother do something? She was hurting because SHE hurt him, that was the point. She knew how much he suffered when she told him about that bloody dream. That's why I said there was no difference between her and Seo Kyung when they broke up 20 years ago.
Exactly, breakup with her is his happy ending. I don't know what kind of hocus pocus writers would have to do…
The two women met every day at work. He could tell Moeun that Seo Kyung was his girlfriend, how she left him and how much he suffered, 7 years away from the world, alone with his pain. And that now he has nothing left for her and that he loves her, not Seo Kyung. Very important! He saw how insistent Seo Kyung was, he should have told Moeun about their past - he didn't. Moeun saw them together so many times, talking in sign language she doesn't master so she didn't understand much, thinking he's hiding something, she saw Seo Kyung going at night in his house... etc etc. His fault he didn't explain anything. She saw his burn mark on his shoulder and he reacted like "Don't touch it", she heard the discussion between Seo Kyung and Do Hoon - what would you understand? "You want Jin Woo back, you still love him!" and on the other hand Jin Woo didn't talk anything about his past with Seo Kyung except he was for 7 years in another world (because he loved her so much). "What if he still loves Seo Kyung?" - she thought. She had to go around and ask Jin Woo's best friend some things to understand. That's not how a relationship works. Maybe they have gossip value for us, because we saw everything, but for Moeun who saw only her part and that distorted by manipulations and appearances - they were not gossip. She got courage to confront Seo Kyung only after he told her that he is happy after he met her and that is past, an old scar which he will never let it harm her. But that rainy evening was a hard blow for Moeun, that was the moment she started to have second thoughts and started to change her mood. I believe Moeun was jealous on their past love, she knew he will never love her as much as he loved Seo Kyung, there will always be a bigger love in his life and she has to be happy with the scraps. Or something like this.
Exactly, breakup with her is his happy ending. I don't know what kind of hocus pocus writers would have to do…
Yes, I know. I wrote those too. But I only try to play "the advocate" for both, to see the whole picture from both directions. Honestly, she behaved in the end like Seo Kyung when she broke up with Jin Woo in the past. But he is also to be blamed, he made also some big mistakes, putting her in awkward situations and never explaining anything. Just telling some facts here and there and she had to put them together. They both have to learn how to be in a special relationship, he's special not only because of his deafness but for his whole life experience and she has also her issues. Open communication was the only solution to make it work but none of them did that. He never told her that he loves her. Never been decisive in his statements. She's the kind who needs to hear that, to walk on safe ground. She didn't see him sitting for days with his phone waiting a word from her, you know? If he didn't open and express his feelings for her, she wouldn't know. On the other side, she ignored his messages and let him become worried. They were both wrong.
