It was something like: when your past it's bursting into your present, it's necessary to explain to that present about what happened into the past. Especially if that past is so pushy. And if there still are unfinished matters. As long as Jin Woo is not telling Seo Kyung "Stop bothering me, you are not and never be my partner", there will be place for misinterpretations.

He never told Moeun that Seo Kyung is his ex, it was Moeun that put 1+1 together. In the same way she understood that those 7 years in that container were because Seo Kyung broke his heart.

I've jus watched ep. 12. I would ring at that door too if I was Moeun. But she doesn't and I believe it's a mistake. He has secrets. If you say it's nothing to do with Moeun I would contradict you now.

Yes, but he didn't say Moeun why he was in that container. This is something that annoys me, there are everywhere only half truths, very easy to misinterpret. Moeun understood from gossips that he was in that container for 7 years because he had a broken heart and his ex Seo Kyung is that who broke it, but it's not fair to put things together like that. He should open himself and explain things, now she has to go around him and ask his friend. She heard out about a fire, saw the burn mark on his shoulder and the things she happened to hear are serious. It's normal that she is worried now.

I thought I am the only one hating this kind of mentality :) I don't even want to start about what I think of this. I was told it's my fault because I have no understanding of the Asian culture and way of life.

I would go nuts to have such a parent for which I have no respect anymore and to wait from them to decide my life: who I marry, where I should go study, etc. It's a typical example of parent who gave birth and raised a child only to profit from him. Where is parent's merit for children's respect in this kind of situation?

Why is he paying his mother's debts again and again instead of sending her to a clinic for therapy against ludopathy? It could be cheaper to pay that instead her continuous need for cash.
The perfect example of stupid parent destroying their children's life. I would just show her my middle finger and send her to work. She would be busy having no time for that crap she's doing.

About the underground bank - isn't there in Taiwan police/services to fight these "underground banks"? They are called "sharks" other places. Of course she would never stop if she knows that "the sponsor" pays her debts every time.

True! And annoying like hell. Why in God's name he cannot say "I don't have feelings for you anymore. Don't bother me anymore, I will not be into a relationship with you."? Why are people so weak, making other confused and creating stupid situations?
I believe that "Teaching bla bla" has some hidden motives, too. After 2 years he suddenly discovered that he is in love with Liu? Give me a break.

And how such a "no salt and pepper" like Liu could write 2 bestsellers? He should have a profound depthness and an out-of-ordinary understanding of human soul in order to be able to write such books. At least to know himself really really good - if they were books about his own experiences. That waiter is 10000% more interesting than Liu :)

Why all these Japanese girls look like struck by lightning when a boy comes to talk to them? For God's sake, put yourself together and speak clearly. I know they are teens, but boys don't bite :) No matter how popular they are.

The series is great.

It would be a really really bad move from the writing side. As big as Korea is, that his only unknown son getting in his way it's pathetic. And I don't want to hear "fate" or "karma".
It's 21st century and this is not a fairy tale with the bastard prince coming back after many years to claim his throne :))

I saw recently a great movie called "Coda" (Child Of Death Adult), actually a famous and prized movie. I recommend it warmly to everybody.
There is a young girl who can hear, born into a family of hearing impaired parents and older brother. At one moment it's said that she was bullied when started school because she was "speaking funny", like the deaf people do. Only after many years of going to school every day she started to speak normally.

And she tends to remember only the good and nice moments. Jinwoo and she didn't break up because all was great, right? There were some bad things going on there, but she forgot them.
She doesn't even know him anymore now, he is a different person, adult and grown up on his own path, there is nothing in common with her, but she doesn't understand that. She wants him back and to be like 20 years ago, which is impossible.
Somebody, tell her that! :)

The same way goes for dyslexic, they cannot read and then don't know how to write and some stupid schools punish them for being lazy or being dumb.

I think that woman has some serious mental issues. I feel her like a ticking time bomb.
And I assume some people think that some bad things she did in the past were done by Jinwoo. And then she left to USA (where she continued to do bad things), living Jinwoo behind to pay for her mess. Now she wants him back and she's able to do many crazy things for that.

I wish you to fall in love with a person 20 years your senior :) And see if you have these preconceived ideas then. You are not aware that you are offending with your words so many people. Do you think a 50 yo man is old? Maybe you are 16. Wait to reach the 50s and see if you think in the same way.
Open your mind, in this world there are a lot of couples in many kind of situations and maybe you learn something for yourself if you just try to understand without judging.

Yes, it's a huge difference in how we look at our children.
When we decide to have children here, it's for their own sake. We never think they owe something to us or listen and obey. We also make a lot of sacrifices and efforts for them, our lives change completely when we get them. Everything's spinning around their small butts :)

I give you an example, because it's best to explain our mentality.
I was talking one day, loooooong time ago, with an university teacher, a very clever man, highly appreciated and respected for his academic work. I asked him if he has children and he said
"Yes, I have a 28 yo daughter".
"What is she doing?" - expecting to hear something like engineer, doctor, etc, anything with a high level of education.
"She is a hairdresser."
I probably made a funny face .
"It's what she chose to do, the most important thing for me is that she is happy and she does every day what she loves to do".

This story is typical. Parents' dream about their children is them to be happy and content with their jobs (and private life). They have no desire to push their children to a high education if their dream job doesn't require it. We think that society needs all kinds of professions and each one has it's own role and place in the "big mechanism", which cannot function without that contribution. No job is shameful, as long as you don't rob, steal or cheat and you pay your taxes you deserve respect and appreciation.
The happiest people in the world are those who find pleasure in doing their jobs every day. If this chapter of their life is not going well, everything is going wrong. You can find refuge in what you do every day, for at least 8 hours, 1/3 of your life, if other chapters of your life are not that happy.

Another difference is that here the parents are not struggling economically like that for their children. Educational and medical systems at all levels are free. If you have financial problems at one point (loss of job, sickness, accident, etc), there is help, this is a welfare state. Children especially are the top priority, they always have to have food, clothing with the weather, school and whatever they need. All they need to do is to be happy whithout thinking on mom's and dad's economy, to go to school and play and learn and then to say what they like to do in the future :)

Another good thing is here the society is not hierarchical, like poor and rich and a middle class. Of course there are some very rich people but it's bad taste here to be arrogant and show your wealth. In the street you cannot make the difference between a doctor (for example) and a mechanic/electrician/carpenter. They can both have the same size of house, same kind of car and motorcycle, same size of boat, to travel abroad to see the world, etc. People choose to be doctors or engineers or architects from passion for their profession, not for the material aspect. As long as you have a job you can earn enough to have all you want. And if you can't work for a while for some reasons, the system is always there, like a safety net, to save your fall and give you assistance. And no debts from this.

I have no hidden or bad intentions if I ask, I am only curious: aren't you frustrated with so much control on your life by your parents? Not "you" personally, but "you" in general. Especially because there will always be a gap between generations, old(er) people do not understand completely the younger generation's mentality, ideas, desires, tastes, speed of developing, way of thinking and they tend to condemn things that don't "fit" with their experience from that time they were young. "In my time it was unthinkable to do that...", "Young people these days don't know how ...", bla bla... :)
It's like they want to stop time or reverse it to their "age of glory", when they were young, strong and beautiful :)

But keep in mind that the friend knew what means to be deaf, learned the sign language for the sake of Jinwoo's and all this "universe of deafness" was not strange for him, was not new - when he met his wife. It's more beautiful that FL's experience with Jinwoo's deafness was completely new and she was not afraid to explore it and fall in love with him, despite the problems (internal and external to their couple) she knows she will meet in the future.
He also had the "advantage" to be an orphan, nobody there to give awkward looks, bad reactions or not to "give approval" to marry a deaf woman. He was his own master :)
