It's because the croissant is half butter :) That mille feuille croissant with or without cream (chocolate, nutella, vanilla or whatever) is very greasy and in western culture you need cutlery to eat something that makes your fingers greasy, especially in a restaurant/cafe/pub (chicken thighs are allowed to be eaten by hand, depends on the standards of the place you are eating).
Usually, croissants are served in some small paper bags and you could eat them without fork and knife.
In my family, for example, we never use fork and knife at home when eat pizza, hot wings or chicken thighs, french fries, burgers. When in public places we use fork and knife.
We are taught from nursery time (when small kids start eating solid food , in addition to milk) to use cutlery. Even if kids get dirty all over :) They are covered with some special plastic bibs (I hope this is the right word) and they are allowed to eat alone with small spoons. So, using cutlery in western countries is something that is "impregnated" in the back of our heads from very small ages.

I don't think somebody could choose nursing as a life career for the sake of money. And don't call it "industry", it's about people's lives and health.
To be a nurse means to see the human being in it's worse moments, blood, vomit, urin and shit, pain and vulnerability. Don't think they are paid at that level that you can say they choose this for money.

First of all you have to have a calling for both doctor and nurse job. Like a priest - it is there or not.

If you don't enjoy helping people selflessly and only for money, after some time you quit the job because it requires a lot from you both psysically but especially mentally. Don't know how much money somebody could pay a nurse working in oncology, seeing children in pain with cancer or other incurable diseases, their parents watching them dying, or palliative care - to make her stay for the sake of the money.

Nurses work long hours, in long shifts and have a huge responsibility both legal and moral.
Think what ment in the Covid pandemic for a nurse to get her job done. How many people died in hospitals and how many doctors and nurses died too.

What I am sorry the most is that because they've already made this version of the lovely manhwa, there will not be another one, with a better Won Young. I think this miscast spoiled all the great work of the other 3 actors and threw a black shadow on the whole show.

And stupid people thinking only of money and being famous. I want to puke every time I see those "Housewives" or the Kardashians, they quarrel over so trivial matters while there are people really dying in Europe or somewhere else in this huge world because of a horrible war having nothing and terrified for their lives, so many people dying by hunger and lack of medicine. Unspeakable arrogance, distasteful vulgarity and flashy wealth.

Actually in the manhwa one of the reasons whyTae Joon likes so much Won Young is because WY makes TJ laugh. He's so funny, TJ chuckles very often when they speak on the phone or face to face. TJ didn't laugh too much in the last 2 years, he was very unhappy because of his father and his ex-boyfriend. In the manhwa, the ex-boyfriend accepts to break up with TJ if TJ's father pays him a lot of money, which he did. His father didn't accept that TJ was gay, told TJ a lot of harsh words and then bought out the ex-boyfriend.
But he meets WY and loves him in the end (both TJ's parents), accepting him in the family. Only because WY is such a sweet, funny, pretty and honest little thing :)
BTW, it's first time I see somebody kissing a shadow :)) They must have a lot of imagination when is about to avoid a real kiss...

He compensated the lack of acting skills of his co-star. :)
I love the story, I read the manhwa which I loved - but when I see Ji Won Young here I just get annoyed. In the manhwa he is SO full of life, smiling all the time ( when not crying because of his broken heart), he's a source of good vibes and everybody around loves him.
Here, he is like having a cloud above his head all the time, raining in his butt and no feelings on his stoned face. Walking like a robot, speaking like one. You can see the actor not feeling secure about his part. Those kisses are ridiculous - Tae Joon is over 30 and Won Young is 27. The Korean prudishness spoils a lot of good movies/series, with great stories. I don't say to go to vulgarity and indecency - but a movie should be as close as possible to reality. Looking at how these two interacted to eachother, you could think they are brothers. It's quite disturbing.

It was an impossible situation for him, to love for life his 1st love who couldn't recognize him, couldn't have their memories, didn't know who he was actually. It was really painful and impossible for him to start something with Yea now. Very sad. To love a person who you know better than the person herself.

They finally could click again totally when she regained her memory. From that moment forward they both knew who they were.

It was only a coincidence that his fiance met Yae and him in the park, he had to introduce them to eachother. He had a life, didn't expect to meet Yae ever again, he knew she was married. And on top of all, he didn't want his fiance to suffer or to feel humiliated, he is a decent guy, he did care about her but didn't love her (not the same way he loves Yae - not even close).

He treated Yae like that because he wanted to find out what happened to her in all those years they were separated, but couldn't ask directly without making her suspicious about him. He didn't know about her life, he knew she was a mother and a wife. After she told him that she had to give up on her dreams (he knew all her dreams and wishes) and even to be with her own son he understood what happened. But how to tell her who he is, when she doesn't remember him? I would have killed her stupid mother who ruined her life.

His fiance almost forced him in this relationship, remember when she followed him and gave up her job to move in the same town with him without discussing before with him? He was alone and vulnerable and she knew the best about it because she was his therapist. Do you think that she was honest? He tried to talk to her but she avoided all the talk, speaking about wedding, pictures, dress, bla bla... she knew what he wanted to say but "she was tired" :)) He didn't want to hurt her, feeling guilty, making him to step back every time.

His fiance knew about Yae for some time, she knew he doesn't love her in the same way he loves Yae and still tried to hang on him. It was a lost case from the moment he met Yae again. I know it's painful for her but isn't it better to suffer 1 person instead of 2? And if he married her, their marriage would have been dead from day 1. He tried, doing his best. Even left for Island, he put a whole world between them. Result: the world too small when is about love.
Maybe I am an incurable romantic, but this is how I see it.

I kept it on hold for few months somewhere at half of the 1st episode and last evening I started it again. Binge watched all of it because I couldn't let it alone.
I love both actors, especially him :) Saw all Rorouni Kenshin films and "An Incurable Case of Love" - I fell in love with Hige Dandism ... It's like a snowball rolling down the hill, from the movie to the actor and his movies to the soundtracks :)

There is something called "European Union" - laws are equal aligned in all the countries members of EU, including the child protection laws.
It's ok if you would choose poverty, misery, sickness, hunger and whatever you want for yourself - but why would you condemn your own children to these?
Refugees get housing, food, clothes, language school, transportation, school for their children, medical assistance, all they need to live. For 3 years, they have the possibility to learn the language and then to find a job. This is how it works in my country. They have translator when they need to communicate with a doctor, school, kindergarten, etc. All for free (actually are the taxes the local population is paying).
Children in foster care cannot be adopted, they are considered being there temporary, are returned to their family after the situation becomes stable again. I am saying again: there is not possible to adopt children without their biological parents' consent.

Don't know who's bias, you or me. I live in Northern Europe, I don't know where you live but I suppose you speak from myths and stories you've heard 3rd hand.
Do you think an adoption in Northern Europe is so easy to do? You have no idea how many conditions you have to meet for being allowed to adopt. And no adoption without biological parents' consent.

I must tell you something: a good mother is good to ALL children, not only to her own. You cannot say she is a good mother to her daughter, after she behaved that way to Gi Yeong. Do you think her own daughter didn't see how her mother treated Gi Yeong? Children are more clever, they see, observe and know much more than we might think.

Doesn't matter if she blames Gi Yeong for her failed life, she cannot do anything more to him. If she blames him instead of understanding her own mistakes and trying to make amends to all she wronged in her stupid life, it's exactly what I said: a sour, nasty, awful, rich but very unhappy woman.

They "snatch" the kids when they are abused, forced to marry 16 yo, they have no good life at home being beaten or neglected. There are cases of teenage girls being killed by their own family because they refused to get married to men chosen by their family. When their lives are on risk, what do you think is better? There are young women that were forced to marry very very young, at 18 already have 2 kids and the 3rd on it's way. No possibility to go out, get contact to other people, no language skills, etc. Do you think authorities are making a mistake in these situations?
Maybe you think it's too easy to "snatch" the kids from their parents here, but there are serious reasons when it happens. It not happening over night, there are some prior investigations before the decision is made.
If a kid is homeless and starving, living in dirt and sleeping on the streets - isn't it better to give to that child a possibility to live a decent life? (Instead of begging, for example) Mom and dad are gown-ups, they should find a job and get some money to take care of their kids - don't you think so? Would you preffer to let the child together with their parents in this situation? Refugee children are put in some institutions where they go to school, learn the language, find shelter, a structured life, make friends and have the possibility for just be children. Their parents can come and visit them anytime. If the parents find a home and means of livelihood, those kids are given back to their parents.

And how do you think that girl will grow up? Into a cold and without affection house, where mom and dad ignore (hate) eachother? This is more toxic for a child than a divorce. That girl will grow up and start to understand the dinamic between her parents, feeling even guilty that they sacrificed their happiness for her. She has nowhere to learn what a good marriage means, what affection, gentleness, caress and good communication is. She will be cold and stiff in her future relationships.
And I see that bitchy/subhuman/rotten apple mom getting old and becoming even nastier with age, sour and awful, not a good example for her daughter. The father a lonely man, focused only on making money, damaged for life by losing his own son because of that woman. He has a whole life to punish her for that.
Remember the last scene with that lawyer who she didn't answer the phone, do you think he will not seek revenge, not telling everybody all their schemes and plots they made together? He has nothing to lose, not a licenced lawyer anymore, not a cafe owner. Nobody and poor.

I am happy to see that I am not imagining things :) This is very subjective, depends on if you are a fan or not of the actor/singer.
Seo Won is an actor and has acting experience. I love him, he is playing that part really close to his character from the manhwa. Calm and quiet, but boiling with feelings inside.
Gongchan - I think is his 1st time acting (?). Maybe he watches himself and starts to do something to improve his skills.

Yes, you may say you're lucky. I started to read it by curiosity somewhere after the 4th episode, was done quickly because I couldn't leave it. I loved it! It's a very nice manhwa, I adored Wonyoung there, really cute and pretty and sensible, honest and respectable. Childish (very naive) and mature at the same time (responsible), a very nice character. He's 27, I don't know if there is said somewhere in the series, maybe I missed it. And Tae Joon in his 30s but closer to 30 than 40.
Make yourself a favour and read it after the series is done - if you want. I recommend it.
Ho Tae in the series is very close to the character in the manhwa. I like Won Tae Min, loved him in "You make me dance".

Try to find the manhwa to read and you'll understand everything better. Won Young here, in the series, is played very poorly, one dimensional and very far from the Won Young in the manhwa. The script is trimmed when is about this character and the actor is not helping because he lacks acting skills. I see a moving statue, if I take off the sound I can't say if he is happy or sad, for me there is only one face all round.
