There are problems that coming to light more on episode 7 and 8, up until now it was cute and lovely but this…
Characters in Thai BL are more entertaining because they are given more space, more flesh, more liberty and some couples playing BL are also couples irl (even they won't admit it openly for the press and public) so they are not stiff when is about skinship/kissing/etc. Many Thai BL actors are openly gay.
While the Korean BL is very restricted by their policy about filming intimacy, especially around BL. Very puritan dinosaurs there up, in places where decissions are made. I think is very hypocritical, to pretend that something that's right in front of your eyes doesn't exist. This kind of "morality" belongs in 16th century.
Actually from seowon's sexy looks would be great if they gave us a hot kiss, but gongchan's look is just too innocent..…
I don't see him mainly innocent, rather stiff like a statue. Sorry, this is what I see, my own perception of his acting. If you read the manhwa, the character Won Young is a very lively, playful and smiling character. He is also innocent but he's that way you could read on his face all his feelings. The guys the 2nd couple are really close to the manhwa, especially Ho Tae.
I don’t know. The guy from Semantic Error went into the army right after the show finished and that had a pretty…
It's just sad, because S. Korea is so advanced in so many other areas. Gays have issues everywhere in this world, even in countries where the laws permit them to marry. Stupid people are all over the world. But vast majority of population is open minded, accept gay/homosexuals without any prejudice and everybody live their lives openly in peace and freedom.
We're in 21st century, maybe is time to make some reforms and change people's mentality. If you have such a performant educational system and produce so much intelligence that makes so great performance in so many areas (technology, medicine, etc), maybe it's time to abolish the stupid class system and to put some new ideas and values in people's minds. It's sad to think they deny the right to a happy life for so many people, making them to hide and maintain their life "under the radar". These days all developed democratic countries have done a reform in this direction, there are remained back only dictatorships, the regims based on religion and few countries that seem to be afraid to do something.
I find it ridiculous because I believe a lot of young people know and watch BL series, it's just the authorities don't want to do something about it. Like a secret everybody knows but nobody talks about it. One day will explode in their face and don't know how they will manage it.
this show is really good, if you're on the fence, I would say give it a go.
50 episodes. I remember my grandmother visiting me, watching "Young and Restless" on TV and my cousin telling her "Nana, you'll die before this series is done".
I could never imagine seeing a mom acting like that in my national tv for example. Her behavior is too cruel.…
After you, nobody here understands anything and only you understand everything. You have very little faith in the intelligence of the people posting here.

About having some problems in the army because they played in a BL drama, I think that nobody is that stupid these days not to be able to make the difference between the actor and the character he played. 1. Even if he played a gay guy, that doesn't mean that he must be gay. 2. Even if he is gay, what's the problem? We live in 21st century, there are many great sportive men gay, footballers, athletes, tennis players, etc. They must be also among the soldiers, is that the most important aspect? Or the fact that the man is doing his duty for his country without any objections and complains, in the same way like all the others? Both guys from "Semantic Error" were famous before taking the parts. And they became even more famous after the series got a great success because they did their jobs brilliantly, as every actor should do.
I didn't agree with people who said Wonyoung's acting was poor 😢 until that romantic scene. His eyes were not…
I don't understand the producers/directors casting in these dramas men that cannot act. There are plenty of examples of dramas having big names in but poor actors. Aren't they giving a screen test first? Are they just starting to work on a drama because of their fame as whatever? Music and movie are different things. If you are a natural talent that could act without any previous training, that's ok. But if you lack acting skills and you have the audacity to accept to play in a movie, then prep yourself somehow, take some acting lessons from a professional. There are many huge actors that have no education in acting but they are born to act and still they improve and educate their natural skills with a personal acting teacher. I think the problem lies with the director and the producer. They can see from the beginning that there is a problem, no chemistry, no facial expression, no acting skills.
I'm not too American since I'm an immigrant & I feel anyone who has immigrant parents understands what's going…
I was referring to the family part. Sexual harassment/abuse has no excuse in any culture. I am just amazed by how families function in these movies, children have duties (to provide their parents, to obey their orders, to accept their choosing of partner for marriage, to attend the blind dates, to not defend if they are psysically abused/beaten, etc.) and family/parents only rights. These are things I find strange (intolerable, to be honest, in my universe).
I'm not too American since I'm an immigrant & I feel anyone who has immigrant parents understands what's going…
Thank you very much, I really appreciate your explanations. For me still many strange things happening in this story, maybe because of the huge gap of culture between my world and Uea's. In my universe, family is where you find love and support. Sometimes kind and loving strangers are more family than own biological family. Greetings and have a good week! :)
I could never imagine seeing a mom acting like that in my national tv for example. Her behavior is too cruel.…
I think you live in a very censored society. Otherwise you wouldn't think that showing these things it means "normalizing". No, it's no normal to ask your son for money instead to take a job and give him money if he need it, not normal not to believe him when he says "your lover raped me", not normal to beat him instead to break the lover's head and call the police, not normal to think "I like your new man, he looks rich", etc. Nothing of these is normal, but they happen. There is no country in this world without these. They are not made public in your country, they are kept hidden for the public eye. Censored. And it's very wrong because this is a way to make you think "What's the point to speak or complain about it?" if you are in such situations. "Nobody would believe me, nobody would help me because we don't speak about something like this".
The best thing the director would have done is to make Wonyoung's kiss dead fish since he is naive and unsure…
Courage and love for the job. If you love to be an actor, then do whatever the part requires to be done. This is why "Semantic Error" is considered one of the best, because the actors were truthful to their parts.
I have a serious question, and I'm especially interested in hearing from Korean men who have been in the army.…
If they play gay it doesn't mean they are gay irl. A good actor can play whatever. It's just disappointing to see a fake kiss like that. When you as an actor accept to play a gay character, then go for it. If you think you're not able to bear it or don't want to accept a kiss with a male (for personal image reasons), then refuse the part. Nobody would judge.
so I'm not the only one who wants her to be hit my lightening?
Lol :)) Waiting for the lightning, I would have turned that table on her head. It was anyway my last visit "home", so why not? If my little sister wants to see me, she should come to visit me. She's old enough to understand why I visit no more. Even more interesting it was if I turned that table with Krit there.
The victim blaming on this is strong. That boy has been traumatized his whole life, you think it's easy for him…
The heal takes time but you have to start somewhere. The more you delay it, the more time it will take you to heal. It's not that he is an uncultivated man living in a cave in the mountains. He knows exactly what happens to him and that he needs therapy. He's not in the 16th century. He's openly gay, had few boyfriends and none was a good one. King is not a good one either, I saw the preview of the last episode - I wouldn't be with him if I was Uea, despite the feelings I may have for King. Trust in a relationship is everything. King proved that he doesn't trust Uea and is stupidly jealous. "I like you" is not enough, it will be a long fight with Uea's "ghosts" and I don't see King being enough strong and patient to follow Uea on this long and bumpy road.
I'm not too American since I'm an immigrant & I feel anyone who has immigrant parents understands what's going…
Thanx. :) But I saw some Korean dramas where I felt how the hair on my neck stood up :) Violence in schools, the obsession with good results at tests, the abuse by own parents (beatings above imagination), the oppression of children within lower social class by rich and privileged ones , extreme bullying etc. You could think that to go to school in Korea is a very dangerous thing. And teachers have no power to do something or if they try to do something they are bullied too. Makes you wonder what a hell of a country is that? :)) There are many examples ("Glory", "Weak Hero Class 1", "Revenge of Others", "Inheritors" and many, many others) of series with extreme violence, murders and bullying in schools, traumas, suicide or other horrible things taking place in schools in Korea. I was thinking at one point that of course these are for entertainment only - but what a hell?! Living here where bullying is forbidden by law and even the royal family is involved in total eradication of bullying - it's very difficult to watch children/teens involved in those bestial beatings or whatever. I have a 14 yo son and very grateful for the peace of our lives.
I'm tired with school BL. I think they have their charm and their public, but as an adult I would like to see something more serious. These boys grow up at one point, do they have no story to tell in their young/mature age? It's OK to produce them, but it's time for the film production companies to do something new and fresh about these "sugary" series. It's like they all are xeroxed one after the other.
I'm not too American since I'm an immigrant & I feel anyone who has immigrant parents understands what's going…
1. You respect an elder who deserves respect. Why is the mother waiting for money from Uea, instead of taking a job? Are women in that country forbidden to work? I don't think so. She is just a parasite. She deserves no respect. Respect is something to be earned, not to be given for granted. 2. What kind of mother is that one putting her relationship with her lover above her own children? Why should I respect that mother? Is she deserving the title of "mother"? 3. Where is their real father? Does she even know who they are? Probably not, otherwise she would "milk" money from them like hell. 4. Which respect should I give to a mother who sees in her son only a source of income? 5. Where is that "family piety" here? It works only one way, as I see. Have children in that "mother country" no rights, they deserve no respect, are parents allowed to do whatever they want with their children's lives? To beat them, rape them, molest them psysically and psychologically and still call them "parents"? 6. The words "mother" and "father" imply a lot of things, not only to give birth to a child.
For a person living in Scandinavia, it's very difficult to watch this BS. Kids are small individuals, they have rights in the same way like adults have. Sometimes, unfortunately, your family is your worst enemy . How many children are ruined for life in those "mother countries"? How ironically said, "mother country".
King deserves a kick in his as*, too. So big that he could not sit on it for 1 year. In key moments he is just stupid. I hope Uea will understand what a healthy relationship means and leave everything behind. I hope he'll start a new life somewhere with a nice and kind man, leaving all this sh*t behind and forget about it. He deserves happiness.
""Jade.. WHAT A FRIEND!"" EXACTLY!!! He is such a Good friend, but I don't understand why some people say he is…
He talks too much about things he shouldn't speak. A good friend knows how to keep his mouth shut. He knows Uea is a very private/secluded person, he should ask first "May I give the others information about you, where you live, etc.?"
It IS ridiculous. I can't understand how it's possible in the 21st century to happen something like this. I know…
I know that Uea is a traumatized person but I hate seeing his "victim behaviour", which is a self destructiv behaviour. Slap the hand on your knee, speak when is time to speak, be decisive and incisive, defend yourself! Don't let any doubt about your intentions and reject openly, stand up for yourself! If there's nobody to defend you, then do it yourself! No one has an obligation to protect you if you don't do anything for that. He's like a magnet for jerks, because he's so fragile and weak, a sitting duck for those "meat-eaters" around him. Even for King. And stop drinking if you know you're stupid when you're drunk, sending wrong signals to "preditors". There is no therapist in this world who could help someone that doesn't want to be helped. That Kritt character - there is more than sexual harassment now, coming uninvited in Uea's home. That is nothing to do with love or feelings. It's about power/domination and submit. Uea should resign and leave the town, find a new job and a new life somewhere else.
