It is good for getting information, exchanging views, etc. It is really unreliable for ratings and some of the moderators seem to be rather biased towards some actors (for certain people any kind of info I can be posted and they have page-long biographies, for others all edits get rejected for no reason)

So true! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 A show with a certain over-hyped idol is currently getting absolutely shredded by viewer comments on Douban. Hyping up the score on MDL and downrating other dramas won’t prevent the train crash.

I think the drop in the rating is due to morons who aren’t even watching downrating episodes that haven’t even aired yet. Anyway, the rating here on MDL seems to be mainly an expression of fan support (and antis). It is completely meaningless regarding the quality of plot, production or acting.
Some people seem to really hate this drama for no reason whatsoever. Why else would they badly rate episodes that haven’t even aired yet? It is high time that MDL correct this very obvious flaw in their rating system.
We have some news… Jeremy is currently (10/01/2024) filming a variety show ( called 老有意思旅行社) in Yunnan. It’s a travel show hosted by Wu Kequn and will be broadcast on Mango TV (probably this January). From what I understand the show aims to offer senior citizens a chance to visit what they always wanted to see while integrating young and old people in the travel groups. Given Jeremy’s gentle and respectful character, he will be a natural in this 👍
Given who the FL is I very much doubt that this will be a short-length drama, she usually does full length stuff. Not a fan of hers, though, she is a weak actress. However, it would be nice to finally see Li Fei in a main role in a full-length drama.
Also, looking at the whole cast list, there are far too many people for a short-length drama. This is a regular production. Just one that seems to fly under the radar, it isn’t even listed on Douban, yet.
Well… it’s a xianxia alright. After a lot of historical I was looking forward to this, yet it feels a bit disappointing. Lots of CGI sparkle, very little plot and the FL obsessively harrassing the ML is getting rather annoying after two episodes.

No, you’re not. The ML feels kind of lifeless. I know he’s supposed to play this detached cultivator, but still, I’ve seen others in similar roles who were a lot more compelling. Furthermore, aside from their fighting and bickering and the FL’s endless lecherous attacks on the ML (if the situation was reversed there would be endless complaints) nothing much has been happening in the first two episodes.
Yesterday, Jeremy posted a statement in the Weibo fan group to reassure everyone that he is actively looking for new projects that are in line with his vision of interesting roles (some fans had been worried that he may be slacking off). Given the current state of the economy in China, with fewer quality dramas in production and the fact that he is probably getting zero support from his agency, this may not be an easy goal to pursue (my thoughts, not his). So it could be a while until we get some good news…
There are other ways for the drama to show it is a success.
