Yes, a number of viewers seem to crave silly romance and shy away from anything even remotely intellectual. No wonder the quality of dramas has steadily worsened in recent years. I wonder how Nirvana in Fire or The Rise of Phoenixes ever managed to become hits without any of this nonsense.

Hahaha, that would be a first for scriptwriters “fixing” the plot holes of a novel 🤣🤣🤣 They usually just take out any original elements to replace them by the usual old tropes that they think no drama can do without. Let’s play bingo if one of the following appears: - FL tripping (over her own feet) and ML catching her - A walk through the night market - Childhood sweethearts
Oh dear, they couldn’t have found an uglier ML if they had tried 😱 I normally don’t care too much for looks, but in these mini-dramas with limited plot and often even more limited acting skills, the eye candy is the main reason to watch. This one made me flinch every time the ML appeared on screen. The fact that they decided to turn this into yet another “I fell into a game while playing” nonsense story was the final nail in the coffin. Dropped.
Given who her agency is, probably never. They’ve just started producing their own short-length dramas and will cast her in such for as long as they can milk the market. These people have proven that they don’t give a shit about their actors’ careers, they only care about the money they can make. I feel sorry for any young actress/actor who falls into their clutches.
Not really to my mind. Once they get together there isn’t any doubt about their couple, but there is an obsessive 2nd ML who doesn’t take no for an answer.
Overall, this was a pretty good drama to watch. The one thing that irritated the hell out of me was Ren Min’s squeaky metallic voice. It felt like fingernails scratching on glass.
I found the first 3/4 of the series to be much stronger than the later 10 or so eps even though the fl and ml…
The worst in those later episodes where the many, many scenes of them staring at each other with the OST playing. These fillers could have been cut for a better flow of the story.
Even more excited to see him taking them off! Judging from the shots of him coming out of makeup and the few brief clips that we’ve seen, his makeup looks excellent (as does he). I’m glad to see that for once Jeremy wasn’t short-changed because the ML’s ego couldn’t bear the thought of being upstaged. Kudos to Leo and the production team for that 🙏
Some snippets from LYN's livestream...that made my die laughingLiuYuning : "how did you film the water scenes…
He’s quite a funny guy! It can’t be easy for the actors having their brain cells fried by some of the insanely stupid questions they get asked in interviews.
One of the Best dramas of the year! Great writing, acting, pacing, and cinematography. Really high quality production.…
I think one of the great strengths of this drama is that it doesn’t just rely on the lead characters to carry the story, but that it has an overall strong cast where all of the side characters are allowed their moment in the limelight and shine through their acting.
now i understand why jeremy quit 🤦🏻♀️. beautiful costumes, a potentially good premise, and wonderfully…
Don’t blame the director, blame Jeremy’s shitty agency for selling him out on every single project! The trainee actress/starlet female leads (who just to add insult to injury usually get 1st billing), the childish plots and unchallenging roles, it’s all their choice, not Jeremy’s. He has long outgrown this genre and would do much better in a grown-up project aimed at a grown-up audience.
As you say, it’s a pity about the dubbing of his later shows. I don’t know why he stopped doing it as he clearly is able to do it. Maybe it is related to his agency (he joined them 2017) or it could be due to time constraints because of his father’s situation.
does sb knows in which Dramas Jeremy Tsui speaks himself and is not dubbed?Thank you !!!!!!!!!!
The most recent ones are The Autumn Ballad and Trace. He also uses his voice in Fairyland Lovers (guest role, but well worth watching). Some of the pre-2018 modern dramas also have his real voice.

Acting and plot are what makes or breaks a drama.
