Could you tell me your thoughts on the novel? Is it spicy? Humorous, dramatic etc?
There’s a fun cat-and-mouse dynamic between the leads, full of witty banter, enemies-to-lovers tension, and plenty of spice—but also a good dose of genuine, beautiful romance. The FL is clever and scheming, while the ML sees right through her but plays along, which makes their interactions even more entertaining. Expect lots of playful tension, situational comedy, and banter, but—like most xianxias—some inevitable angst later on.
The novel does get a little draggy in places, though not unbearably so, and it really depends on the reader’s taste. I’m pretty sure the drama will trim that down since it’s adapting around 224 chapters (245 total including extras, but they’re short and easy to read if you’d like to try: https://mydramanovel.com/love-in-the-clouds/). From the BTS I’ve seen, the script seems to take a slightly different approach.
All in all, I’m really excited for this one—it’s a solid story 👍🏻
I ready some theories (which I think make sense). They said that he managed to come to the modern world (different…
Ahh sorry if I confused anyone earlier 🥹! I first saw some posts on Reddit saying it was from the novel, but after checking, the novel actually ends differently. So I’m not sure where that idea came from (maybe AI theories — and we know how AI gets confused sometimes, haha).
I actually researched a lot more today (and I’m so thankful to everyone who replied here — really helped me make sense of it all) and now I really do think the ending is very happy.
It’s subtly implied (probably because of censorship they couldn’t outright say it wasn’t a dream or directly mention names/links from that world) that they will have that kind of life together — it’s not hard to imagine 🥹. Like the top comment said, there’s a whole loop / time paradox / multiple worlds thing happening. ML might have even triggered her experiences so she’d “remember” everything and reunite with him sooner.
The title of the last episode, “I will find you, you stay here,” had me confused at first, but now it feels like such a beautiful hint — he literally followed her into her world to find her, while she was always “there,” experiencing everything again until she remembered. Once she remembered, he came to find her.
Even her boss’s behavior in the first episode adds to the theory — the urgency about the Serene Vale Project (I might be misremembering the exact name) was so unusual it even surprised FL. Maybe she wasn’t used to this kind of pressure. This makes me think ML was behind that urgency, trying to get her to him, to orchestrate their reunion. Then, right after she wakes up and leaves the hospital, her boss calls her again with that new urgency, telling her “this is your last chance” to meet Mr. Wei and present her project — which felt way too pointed to be random.
And then we get that line at the end: “A lonely journey always ends in a fated reunion.” That ties everything together for me. It really suggests that after she died in his arms, ML tied up loose ends in the cultivation world, went into seclusion to cultivate more power, and then reincarnated in her world — with his memories intact — so he could find her again.
This creates that perfect time paradox: he literally orchestrated everything so they’d meet again, but in a subtle, natural way (except maybe the accident — that could’ve been fate but idk though cause how'd he know she'll happen to experience everything at that time just before their meeting?). Even FL’s first flash/blurred vision of him and the red glowing anklet bead he wore connects beautifully to this idea.
There are also so many symbolic details:
-> The name of his company, 三山 (San Shan), might reference 三圣山 (San Sheng Shan) — the mountain where he was sealed for 500 years.
-> His company makes resorts, which feels like a callback to what FL told him before — that she loves being lazy, eating well, sleeping well, traveling, seeing beautiful places — and he promised to make the world like that for her, just like Grain Rain Vale. In this life, he is literally fulfilling that promise.
-> Someone also noticed a snake and a blossom (from her Soul Manor) in the background of their reunion scene, which could be a symbolic nod to their past.
There's Chinese censorship issues About rebirth and reincarnation trope,so they had to end the drama like that...Almost…
Thank you! I also just found out he actually followed her soul to her world and orchestrated everything for their 'fated reunion' (i guess that's why there was that beautiful message at the end "all lonely journeys end in a fated meeting" or something like that).
I ready some theories (which I think make sense). They said that he managed to come to the modern world (different…
thank you! I also just found out he followed her soul to her world and orchestrated their "fated meeting" and they actually lived their 4th life in her world and had a blissful married life and even a kid 🥹❤️
So, he does remember everything at the end, right? That playful "Do I know you?" felt more like teasing — especially since he looked at her so longingly before, sighed in relief when she said "I found you again," and smiled when she told him of course she knows him. It definitely seemed like he remembered her.
But how did he even wake up before her in the real world? Are we supposed to imagine that after she died, he either passed out and his soul returned to his modern body, or that he actually lived out the rest of his life as a mortal there and eventually died? What I can’t quite make sense of is how they’re both back at the same time, with him seemingly "awake" earlier than her.
Also, I don’t really get why the ending felt a bit censored — we didn’t actually get to see their future together, just got it strongly implied. Is that how the novel ends too? Isn’t this supposed to be fantasy/xianxia? Lol.
That said, I am glad we got a happy ending for the leads, with the promise of them living a full life together in the real world. What I’m less satisfied with is how the cultivation world was left hanging — what happened to their friends, and to the immortal and demon realms after both rulers passed? Maybe it was all just a shared dream, but I don’t think so, since they were both there as random souls. Maybe it was just destiny bringing two people together in the strangest way.
Sorry for rambling — just trying to make sense of it all!
I didn't expect this to be THIS intense wow. Honestly might be my new all time favourite xianxia, and my last favourite one was LBFAD 😭. Bro like the romance is the deepest purest form of romance there can ever be in a xianxia wth 😭 I went dizzy at some point with some scenes. I've just learnt what a "cultivation partner" means too. I think I won't be able to watch anything else for a while 🤣
is anyone know ai subtitle generator translator somethingi don't have patience for this 😭 i have the raw video…
GPT Subtitler! It's really easy to use and you can get like 10k free credits every day and 100k from completing a google form. Oh, you also already have 100k credits when you first make a new account. There are free Gemini models available for translation too and you can make custom settings for your subs. I use it to translate subtitles for my mom so she can watch cdramas with me cuz she doesn't know English haha.
Does the ending play out like in SOKP or other censorship-affected transmigration cdramas—where the leads meet again in the modern world and share a brief smile that shows they remember everything? I just want to know if it has that kind of happy, satisfying conclusion.
What did Sang Zhi do to chase after ml? She's comparable to Sang Yan not Sang Zhi at all
Sorry, you're right about HL. I also haven't finished this one yet and all along I thought people were talking about them separating when they were kids, not from ep 15. I just got there now, so now it seems more clear. I also get where the criticism did come from, but I still feel like it really shouldn't be that deep. And yes, The First Frost portrayed Yi Fan's struggles better, true. It really is so similar, but reversed haha.

If you're interested, this article explains the theory even more beautifully (it really helped me too!):
