The angle is the mother and daughter relationship, the fl has always been obedient towards her mother, but her mother's excess interference in her personal life caused the breakup between her relationship with her ex. This drama also focuses on the fl's growth she found independent and also build up her career and become a successful business woman after she inherited a hotel from a relative. She was able to save the hotel from going under, and made a name for herself in the hotel industry. She also start to understood her mother better after she went to her mother's hometown. Her relationship with ml is understated but we can see how much they love and trust each other.

What do you mean he does everything in the relationship, are you talking about this drama or in general? For this drama they both have career, both value family, and both are equal in the relationship. Are you complaining because they didn't get marry at the end, they're only together for a year at most, they still have plenty of time to get marry. Some couples in real life live together for years and didn't get marry until later in life. I don't think this will happen for mch and yzm, the drama wants to reflect the thinking of modern women who are starting to marry later unlike in the past generation when women are expected to marry young in order to have a family before they turn 30.

It's an adaptation of a novel, so drama will have some changes to fit with modern value. When is the novel written? For some reason nowaday drama likes to makes the ml being able to cook and good at housework, not that i'm complaining, guys that can do those things are really sexy to me ^^

At first he was only nice to her to impress his grandmother, but gradually as he got to know her he started to admire her work ethics and value her as a capable employee that he wants to help develops. Also it wasn't changed overnight, that incident and their falled out when she told him she saw him as family and was really hurt by what he did, made him starting to see her as a real person rather than just an employee. Mch has much more patient than the average person, but she's not someone to be mess with, she does react when she reached her snapping point. This is a family drama and focuses on the fl's growth and drama was always fun to watch so must be you're not the intended audience. Seeing mch bringing a struggling hotel into a successful one was the hightlight of the drama, she was able to do it without needing to ask for much help from yzm. Both of them are showed as very successful in their career and always supportive of the other. A relationship goal ^^

There's a reason, it's a big reason actually. She loves him since she was a child and was trained to become his first wife, but something happened and another girl replace her to become the first wife. As someone who has lots of pride in herself, she couldn't take the insult even though she loves him. Also she enjoys her freedom too much to willing to accept being second fiddle when she was promised to him first.

I think snow eagle lord was a project that was offered for xukai and he accepted it because he likes the character. I remember xukai said he will accepted a drama if he likes the script, so he must like this one enough to want to be in it. I also heard yu zheng turned down loss you forever of yangzi when it was offered to xukai to played one of the three males leads for this drama or xukai turned that role down in order to accept snow eagle lord. I don't know. Loss you forever became really popular so he has been mocked for turning down that drama, but i think he made the right choice since i can tell he worked really hard in this drama with his spear training, so he must've love this character ^^

This drama follows novel and in novel mother is main character. The novel main focuses has always been on the mother and dauggter relationship. I don't know why mdl didn't edit the mother role as main because she has an important role in this drama beside the main leads.

This is a new generation and it's aim toward women who are more independent, more career oriented. It's not that there are no dramas that have what you talked about, i remember watching avenue x bashed a drama for having an fl who suffered emotional abused from her boyfriend/husband because she fell in love first, she has a career so why is she so desperate for his love, she cooked for him but he doesn't value her at all. They broke up and then met again later and it's still the same thing, she still acted like she was still a teenager falling for her first crush. I used to watched older dramas with these motifs, rich guy poor girl, girl got abuse by mother in law after they got married. Girl devoted towards boy, so what you want to see you will find lots of them in older dramas. Different generation different mindset, dramas nowaday reflect the value of today society, women are much more value than they're in the past in china, china has a population problem having more males than females because of their one child policy.
