Matron meng loses her position for her daughter, but that daughter doesn't even appreciate her or even learn her lesson. Should've let her be punish for it, could've save us lots of frustration for this character. Zi Jin is too nice, yuehua was the one responsible for accusing Zi ping and her for poisoning the empress, Zi ping was put in jail, and she has to suffer zhan ji's anger for lying to him, got lock up, loss her voice, etc and she just let Yuehua comes back to work like nothing happens. She should've reported her or have her move out of the kitchen as a punishment, letting her work in the kitchen and cooking for the empress will invite more trouble in the future. This is the one thing that I feel is bad writing for this character, she shouldn't be allow to work in the kitchen at all. Also the killing of the empress sister was never revealed, the empress was suspicious of Zi Jin, but she never question her, no one knew Yuehua was the last person to see her beside matron meng I think. In a sense it was not yuehua's fault since the sister was using her to help her to commit suicide I suppose...Still it was never mentioned by the empress again which is weird knowing how she punished Zi Jin before when her sister got punished by the empress dowager. Wonder if it was edit out of the show for some reason.

I think I got my answer. This drama is not like those other popular dramas with other favorite idols, those people must've rate it down because they're afraid their favorites are losing to this one. I'm the type who doesn't care about rating, and would watch a drama regardless if it's takes my interest or has the actors/actresses I like, but I have to say this drama deserves the hype it gets. The fact I watch those other xianxia dramas only one, but I could repeatedly watch this drama just make this drama superior to them, well also because of xukai. He's an actor who can really get into characters and his efforts is appreciated. Have watched him since story of yanxi palace, and I've always feel he brings the chemistry to whomever he works with ^^

What happens to season 2. Heard a while back there will be a season 2 for this drama, but it's already been 3 years and no announcement.

Her makeup makes her much older than her age.

She and ml are two of my favorites in this drama. They both are very entertaining ^^

He has so many memorable support roles, wonder why he doesn't get more main roles. Really like his character in wrtw.

I think it will be hard to get a second season, but not because it's hated by Chinese viewers, but because of conflict of schedule of all the casts. The king avatar was also rumor for a second season, but we still not hear much from it.

The one who wrote this article was referencing the douban rating, and there are a lot of haters on there who rate dramas down and insulting actors and actresses because they don't match their definition of beauty, or putting down a drama to make their favorite get better results. That's why I don't trust in douban rating, in my opinion the popularity of the drama don't always reflect on the douban rating.

I heard a rumor of a season 2 and focus on shanggu and baijue's son. But it's just a rumor.

Looks like an eSport fan wrote this article. I like watching eSport drama, and I watched other eSport dramas before, I didn't think the drama was disrespectful to eSport in general. Also who rated a drama 1 only those who are anti-fan of the drama would do this. I doubt they even watched pass the first ep to give an honest review. It's laughable this drama was meant for entertainment, but those so call eSport fans acted very similar to the one in the drama bullying the fl and ml even before the drama started. If they were so concerned about the plagiarism made by the book author, they should bring up that issue to her. What i don't understand is if it was plagiarism, why was it allow to print in the first place.

Yeah, I also was hoping for more in the ending between shanggu and baijue and their son. However houchi and qingmu relationship I also like, so for me I love the relationship dynamics between the different couples ^^

I was pretty sure, it gotten into the top 10 dramas in china in 2021. The only ones who might've something against it are the eSport fans, and rated it low, otherwise it actually a worthwhile eSport drama, not to be taken too seriously , but still an entertaining drama.

Yeah I think there were three characters in ancient love poetry if I remember correctly who also in wrtw.

They haven't shoot for a second season, but if there's enough interest there's a chance they will make another season. Wishful thinking I know.

Heard from an interview, xukai became interested in acting because of Chinese paladin 1, the one with hu ge and liu yi fei. So him taking on this project is due to his love for the original sword and fairy ^^

After watching wrtw, I appreciate even more xukai and zhou dong yu, chemistry ^^ They're so good 👍
