I don't know what you are talking about, how is he confused and loss? And his acting only getting better, I don't think it has anything to do with filming more than 3-4 dramas a years since he does have break in between dramas. And what was your reason for rating this drama so low.

In royal feast, Wu Jin Yan character was really different from her character in yanxi palace, much more softer and kinder to her enemies. Zi Jin is very well manner, graceful and has the bearing of a gentle lady, much more forgiving than wei ying luo who's much more aggressive and doesn't let anyone get the better of her. A different portrayal, Wu Jin Yan did very well with this character. I'm glad to see Wu Jin Yan and xukai reunion in royal feast, making up for my regrets from yanxi palace ^^

In ep 3, why do I feel like Zi Jin and zhan ji are flirting with each other over the drawing. He was drawing a mouse, and she added in the background scenes ^^ At the end he was looking at the drawing and smiling. Chen wu describes her as thoughtful, good at cooking and good at drawing, it seems the prince has finally fallen for Zi Jin. Chen wu really understood his master ^^ In this ep, all the food that were prepared for the crown prince by zi Jin, Zi ping and yue hua look so good, I want some myself. Yan yi fan in this ep was introduce, and he looks like he recognizes Zi jin. That entrance was pretty cool when he got on the horse and reign in the horse.

Looks like it was intentional, the prince of Han was hitting the horse when the crown prince was on it, causing it to react violently and thrown the crown prince off the horse, if it wasn't for his son, he might have got a bad injury. Then later he cause the horse to go crazy when he hit the horse again, cruelty to animal, the horse would've hurt the emperor if you yi fan hasn't control it. The emperor only cares about his grandson, while ignore the crown prince, kind of feel bad for him.

I didn't know the game, but still like it a lot. The in game scenes are very cool when they were animated. Toward the end I still don't know much about the game, but it didn't take away from the dramas. Most of the characters are very likable, nice team work, nice chemistry between main and support couples. The friendship between fl and her friend is so strong, just love her bestie. Lu si Cheng became more naughty after they got together, really like his personality change ^^

In ep 2 manager Feng is so kind, I think she purposely sending Zi Jin to serve the prince's food to help her stay in the food service. Zi Jin uses that opportunity to impress the prince with her cooking skill. Since I'm rewatching this, and knowing their history together, I start to notice her reactions to the prince, it's more than just curiosity that she is trying to take a look at his face, or smile seeing him angry, holding that jade (an item that was given to her by the emperor as a promise to be the prince's consort) and thinking of the prince. Watching this again, it's so obvious she has feeling for him, and it came way before she was saved by him in ep 2 ^^

Just ignore him/her. Zhou dong yu is a good actress, she is more known for her movies than dramas. She's the youngest actress to receive three golden horse for her movies so that person doesn't know what they talking about. I agree with you, dramas that only cares about looks are idol dramas, this drama is not an idol drama and the acting is the most important that's why the actors and actresses that were picked really fit their roles.

Yeah generally there will be dramas that focuses on romance over plot so what? For example the legend, dance of the sky empire, those two have the ml as lead too. I loss my interest because they start to add love triangle. I just noticed many cdramas regardless of genres do this, it could have been better if they focus on the plot. Most dramas I like tend to put romance on the side and focus on characters development and plot. This drama is an example, they spend 16 eps expanding on the god realm, and the main plot starts in ep 17. This is why I love this drama and could rewatch it many times.

Rewatching this, in ep 1 the crown prince has always been forgiving I almost forget this. He wasn't like this only after becoming emperor, his kindness as well as his weight is what make his brothers and father look down on him, and think he's weak. The crown princess is one strong woman who is always looking out for her husband. I start to know some of the names with the faces after rewatching it, still too many names that I won't remember. The one who sent zhan ji the letter asking him to return to intercept the prince of Han and help his father must be his mother. Both mother and son in this drama takes turn shielding the crown prince from the emperor's disapproval. The crown prince is kind of foolish, he couldn't tell that his brothers were mocking him, and always have a kind word for everyone but his wife and son, it became worse after he becomes emperor. Among zhan ji two attendants, l like chen wu more his character is so attentive and just seems more loyal compare to yuan qi who is only good at flattering and gossip, although he's funny ^^

The two that come to mind are ten miles of peach blossom and ashes of love. I like the former but not so much the latter. I don't remember much of the sacrificing, just feel annoyed with some of those characters that just don't learn and keep making the same mistakes. Although I said it in general, some dramas tend to focus on romance over the plot.

Yeah I really loves her character and baijue. Baijue is my most favorite, I think baijue is the most suffering male character compares to other male characters in other xanxia I seen, not that I seen that many, but this drama is so different in its presentation of love and duty. In other dramas, the main characters would choose love over everything else, here they choose duty because of their status as being the most powerful. It's contradictory to their nature being the most respected, but they still can't control their fates. Just as the saying with great power comes great responsibility. Since I'm much older now, I likes that it shows another side to love, not just the normal boring love story I seen in other dramas.

Xukai's role in royal feast has the best life, being the beloved grandson to the emperor, the crown prince who father is always jealous of the attention he is getting, to being the emperor with the highest authority. So many titles in one role, this must be the least suffered characters he played so far. Although his love life is not so easy, since the fl has other things to do, and rather cook in the kitchen then be his concubine. Compare to fuca fuheng, sheng chumu love life, he's still so much luckier. In royal feast the fl was trained from a young age to be his consort, and she already has a crush on him since she was a young girl. Zhu zhan ji is almost too perfect, he can play an instrument, good at drawing, good at martial art, well verse in military strategy. Xukai portrayal of Zhu zhan ji as a pamper prince to a capable ruler is done very well. He keeps improving in his acting. Hope to see him playing more difficult characters with good scripts ^^

Those are the things I love this over ten miles of peach blossom and ashes of love. Agree it's so underated, it's so much more than just a love story, the gods in this drama I feel care about the humans, and the world building and cultivation stuffs are very interesting too. Agree xukai and zhou dong yu chemistry was great ^^
