I would say this drama is short when it comes to the ending, other than that I love everything about it. Some xanxia dramas ruin it for being too long, and dragging the story line make the audience loses interest. This drama engages the audience the more you watches ^^

I really like ep 32, wow this ep is so good, zhan ji must have knew all along the empress was faking her illness, that why he made a show of interrogating Zi ping, to test the empress to see if she would sympathize with Zi ping and beg for her life. I always feel the empress is not a bad person, she proves that by begging for the imperial food service and absolved them of all guilts in her illness. Zi Jin gotten angry for being tricked by her friend and her husband, wonder if it was you yi fan idea after all it was him that told the emperor to do the interrogation. Zhan ji is angry with zi jin because she refuses to confide in him and treat him like a stranger rather than her husband, he's the emperor he could have help Zi ping out, but she would rather relies on herself and rather uses her body to test the medicine to prove her friend innocent.

Zi Jin has a trauma about being locked up since she was younger, and now this incident made her recalled her trauma and causes her to lose her voice. Zhan ji planned only for zi Jin to be lock up for a few days, but it turn into 2 months, all he wanted was for zi Jin to admit she was wrong to keeps everything to herself, but her stubbornness is making him angry since he does not know she loss her voice. Now it's even more apparent that servant by zhan ji's side likes to gossip, he seems to make thing worse between zi Jin and zhan ji by saying something to him that make him misunderstood zi Jin.

This relationship reminds me of the relationship in yanxi palace between the emperor and wei yingluo, he would get angry at her and then grounded her for some small infraction, the different here is zhan ji has a much better reason to be angry with zi Jin.

The emperor doesn't hold the empress responsible for her lie, and forgave her for it, but his reaction to zi Jin is much stronger. This has to do with his feeling for her, just like how the empress wants a relationship with him, but he can only offer her a position and not his affection. The reason is simple, the more you love, the more you are hurt when the one you love won't give their trust to you. He is not in love with the empress, so her lie does not affected him, but with zi Jin is different, he loves her and wants her to share everything with him. Zi Jin on the other hand is too proud, she refuses to ask her husband for help even when her friend is in trouble, is it because she doesn't believe he would take her side over the empress or is it because she's too proud to ask for help.

Those are just haters who don't even watch the dramas and already rate it 1 star, so don't mind them. If a show is good, it will do good even with all the bad comments in the beginning, both dramas still do very well ^^

I think the empress was feeling guilty over her misdiagnosis and causes an innocent death when she was working as a physician. Her family covers up for her. She feels resentment toward her own family for using her to get a foothold into the royal family, that's why she was cold to the emperor at first. Too bad, once she figures out what she wants, her husband found someone else whom he could give his heart to, but this woman has her own interests and does not want to be his woman. However the different way he treats the two women who turn away from him are different, he did not forgive the empress after he find out she would rather die than be with him even after she change and want to reconcile with him. The way he treats zi Jin is a bit different, he is angry with her for not wanting to be with him, but he still care for her well being, and even think of letting her go and be her own person. This shows his love for zi Jin is much stronger than his feeling for his first wife.

So zi Jin and zhan ji finally settle their differences. I'm glad she's telling him what she's thinking. Her position in the kitchen giving her a sense of freedom, she's not the same girl who was taught to become his consort and please only him. Now she's her own person, with thoughts and feelings, she doesn't want to change who she was for him. She is saying she will behaves as his concubine in public, but in private she wants to be treated equally to him. I'm amazed at her frankness, as an emperor he has all the power, the fact she could say all that to him shows she believes her own importance to him in his heart, that's why she could behave that way.

Yue hua starting to become more corrupted, the way she judged her mother, when she doesn't see she is much worse than matron meng. Matron meng regarded her position as important, but she would never stoop to cheating or lying to win.

So many thing happened in ep 31, Zi ping and the people under her gotten put in prison because they were suspected of poisoning the empress and cause her to have hallucinations. I have to wonder if the empress is truly sick or is she acting in order to get zi Jin in trouble because she's jealous over the emperor love for her. Zi Jin was only concubine for a short time but already become a concubine consort, which is the second highest position only lower than the empress position. Is yue hua working together with the empress to pins the blame of her illness on Zi Jin, to make the emperor turns against her?

Zhan ji came to see zi Jin because he wants her to tell him the truth, but she is too proud to ask him for help, this in turn makes him angry that's she is still hiding things from him.

Wonder if you yi fan is in on this with yue hua, she has been working for him all this time, is this her own doing because of her jealousy of Zi ping, or is there more to this situation.

Zhan ji is starting to trust yi fan, he is asking him for advice about zi Jin, not knowing he's also has feeling for her and might trepadize their relationship.

Falling into your smile going to be on Netflix, so I hope this drama will also appears on Netflix. Everything is done well in this show, the cgi, the acting, the plot, the chemistry between the characters males/females. This is the few dramas that I don't feel annoy over support characters, character development is great whether they're good or bad ^^ Was checking this drama a few times, and the rating keeps going up and down from 8.7 to 8.6, what's up with that, honestly this deserves a rating as high as eternal love.

I can't help but laugh when zhan ji gotten jealous seeing zi Jin sleeping with one of his concubine, that girl is so funny, she keeps trying to get his attention but always failed 😂 That scene reminds me of something similar that happened in yanxi palace between the empress and one of the king concubine, they were gossiped and it reach the emperor, his reaction is the same as in this situation lol 😆

The crown prince is a pitiful person, he mistook someone who looks like his old friend as confidant and trust the wrong people. The crown princess sacrifices her own sister is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen. The same for the crown prince, at least he was able to mend fences with his own brother and realize his mistakes in the end. The crown princess on the other hand is unforgivable.

Really, I think the production did a very good job, case in point I can't help coming back to watch even after I finished. For those who love the plot and the main leads love story, the beginning is the best part because we get lots of their interactions and cute scenes together, such a sweet couple, their chemistry is great ^^

What great about this drama is, the ml and sml falls for the fl for her personality. Much better than the praise about beauty in other dramas that just feel superficial.

The dowager empress in royal feast and court lady are two strong women. Both of them able to control the emperor's harem as well as helping the emperor settle small matters in the palace. This is why it's a good thing for the empress to be strong and commanding unlike the one in yanxi palace who can't involve herself in the emperor business, and was a victim of those who schemes against her because she's too nice.

Zi Jin is trying to establish her footing, she wants to be acknowledged by the emperor, and stand out among his women. She is making friends with all of zhan ji's concubines and be acknowledged by them. However the emperor is not happy because he thinks she doesn't care about him even when he favors her. This is what is like being a concubine, she has to relies on the emperor's love for her to gains power. The empress seems sick, her symptom looks like she's pregnant but she's not favor by the emperor so I don't think that's the case.

Yi ping is acting more mature now that she gains her title of directress, she looks much better now that she changes her headpiece and has some lipstick on; the old headpiece of the serving girl is so ugly making all the servants look older.

Zhan ji is asking love advice from yi fan lol, it's not a good idea to ask advice from your love rival, he doesn't have good intentions, and more likely to drive a wedge between zi Jin and him.

The two attendants of zhanji are so opposite, one is constantly gossiping and the the other is more quiet, I like the quiet guy more. He's also seems more capable and loyal ^^
