I didn't think the ml was gay when I first watched the drama. His mother was worry he's gay because he's not interest in any girls she picked for him, it just means he hasn't find a girl to his liking, and his brother was making a joke about him being gay since his only interest is in game. Those people who ship him with another guy was just like ordinary fans in real life who ship two guys together after they were in a drama together, has nothing to do with them being truly gay. His interest was never about girls but about eSports, and he even said he will only like a girl if she can beat him in eSports. I heard there is a guy in Japan who is not interested in real girls but into an anime character, so there're many people out there, don't just make assumptions when you don't know anything about them.

Zhan ji asking for Zi Jin's advice on his consort, so it seems he values her opinion. Her answer really surprised him, and made him gives his consort another chance. Too bad for her, her family ruin it by making him think she's offering her sister to her husband, and making him even more angry with her than he was before. Later on we found out, he hates scheming, so his change in feeling for her is much more than her trying to poison herself, and their relationship became colder after that, and she never tried to explain herself to him. Zhan ji even got mad at Zi Jin for giving him advice, and taking his anger out on her. Zi Jin made an impression on him when she told him she cares for him more than a servant to a master making him speechless lol. He's now regretting hurting her feeling, because he realizes her cooking for him was made with love and not just by a servant to a master, and that's why her food is so much better than those who prepared for him before. He's now trying to show her he cares for her more than a servant rofl ^^

Yuan qi was thinking to punish Zi Jin by making her waiting in the snow, and gotten punished by zhan ji. I start to realize zhan ji punished him many times during the course of the show, but he seems to keep making the same mistakes by thinking he is close to zhan ji as a result he keeps abusing his power. Zhan ji truly cares for him by punished him, but he never learns. Chen wu on the hand is very astute and understand zhan ji as a personal servant much better than yuan qi even though they were with him about the same time.

That's a surprise that you watch that many episodes if you didn't like it. Normally most people would drop it in the beginning if they think a drama is bad. Only those who stuck with it actually enjoy the drama and the game lol. Also this is not a documentary of gamers, but just a drama about eSports, whether they did it right or not it was just meant for entertainment, and not meant to be taken seriously even if it does showcase serious topic about online bullying that I thought they did a very good job focusing on it.

What's confusing for you? The only thing I consider hard to follow is the game when the characters are being picked I can't tell who is playing whom, but it didn't effect my enjoyment of the drama.

So the airing date still not out yet even though we heard it will come out in April, then may. Hope the rumor is true, and it will come out in may.

I also like that scene and feel ml understood her, that was such a cute interaction even though she was drunk and might not remember their conversation ^^ I'm rewatching it on Netflix, and i forgot how funny this drama is, it's an easy watch and I like it, but I was only truly invested in the drama after the team solved their misunderstanding when the brother came back my first time watching it ^^

Zhan ji has a very close relationship with his grandfather, the emperor is so doted on him compare to his treatment of his father. The crown prince is so funny when he wants to put off his duty to his son, it's so weird to see the way the son is being more responsible than the father ^^ How zhan ji deal with his uncle and father by knocking his uncle unconscious, and scare his father to pretend to faint is too funny, he's having fun at their expense ^^

How many offices in the palace that are responsible for the making of food, I keep hearing about other offices beside the food service, but they're only mention when it comes to picking the ingredients, or when they're competing. Like in ep 10 when they were talking about the office of entertainment or the directorate, and who are the one responsible for those offices, it appears to be control by the eunuchs, and matron meng kind of have to put up with their skimping on the food expense, so the one who is in control must be in a much higher position than her. The eunuchs in this drama have such power that everyone is afraid of them, even zhan ji's two servants are eunuchs, and they have lots of power too. There seems to be a similar theme in these palace dramas, there was a eunuch who was also a problem in yanxi palace and court lady.

She was in a depression so i don't think she would have been good company for him, and I wouldn't say she ditches him since she left him in very capable hands.

You're right I wasn't trying to have a discussion since I'm also done with this drama. I was just stating what I like about it, and what the drama could've done better, the second prince whether you like her or not is such an interesting character, that it was too bad her storyline was so short as well as ml's storyline. Let agree to disagree since my reason for not liking this drama has to do with fl and 2ml so.

My original post was saying I like the 2fl and want more of her story. That's fine if you don't like her since we can have different opinions about the same character. The reason why I thought the 2ml was just added in as a love triangle because the synopsis didn't mention him at all, that why I didn't like it when he has so much screen time compare to the main leads as well as the 2fl, as well as making me dislike fl when he was just a support role. I like his sister, the guy who like her and ml's friends but their screen times are less than him.

I agree with you, the synopsis didn't match with the drama. I was expecting lixuan to fight against the human,and taking the side of his mother's clan after he find out about his identity but it just ended like that. When this drama was announced, it was supposed to be over 60 eps, so I assume it gotten cut down to 28 eps.

There is a novel about him and yuemi, but I wonder if it ever be adapt into a drama. If it does, I hope they bring back all the actors from the first drama, and expand on their stories since I'm not satisfy with the ending.

Are you still watching it? He was the reason zhan ji able to marry Zi Jin, so I'll give him that. Zhan ji was about to give Zi Jin her freedom as she wanted, if not for the emperor interfering, they might've not have a relationship to speak of ^^

I love this drama, but i can understand why it's not for everyone.

Zi Jin became sick and didn't cook for zhan ji, and he's missing her cooking. His temper tantrums over it making his two servants notice it too ^^ Manager fang bringing the medicine to Zi ping to give to Zi Jin and pretending it wasn't from the prince, but Zi ping and zi Jin both knew it came from zhan ji and that's why Zi Jin is so happy over it ^^ Yuan qi is so likable in the beginning, it's sad to see how he changes :( Same with yue hua, she looks like she wants to make friend with zi Jin, I don't understand why she's so against Zi ping that's she is keeping herself apart. In this ep, yue hua was given a book of recipes from her master, wonder what happens to it because she got such an advantage over both Zi ping and zi Jin, but she's still losing to them, not because she's less skillful, but because of her jealousy and her own shortcomings.

Zi Jin and zhan ji finally met, and I really like his flirting, he's so romantic sending her back with a guard holding the lantern with the picture of the mouse he drawn, Zi Jin couldn't help but smile over it. This drama is making up over xukai and wu Jin Yan's sad parting from yanxi palace, and I'm enjoying their interactions, it kind of similar to their status before too she was a servant while he's a nobleman. The one different is, his status is so much higher than before, he can finally get the girl, instead of losing to the authority of the emperor in yanxi palace ^^

The emperor dealing with his harem is so heartless, one woman who made false accusations against the crown prince, and so many were implicated including the food service. According to him, it's a very minor things to prosecute innocents as long as the culprits were apprehended. Zhan ji pleading for those women shows his caring nature. He has his father's kindness as well as his grandfather strictness, his ruling is taking the best of both his father and grandfather attributes. It's funny the culprit was right under the emperor nose, the one who was doing the investigation, was the one who's responsible, who schemes with the emperor's concubine to implicate the prince of Han as a revenge for his mother. This whole incident shows the emperor is favoring the prince of Han over the crown prince, he dismissed the evidence like it was nothing when it was shows his younger son is implicated, but he was willing to dig deep in order to find out the truth when it comes to his oldest son. Zhan ji was shrew enough to realizes not everything as it seems.

I tend to come to a drama with no expectations, and I find it more enjoyable that way. Some people just put too much expectations, and that's why they tend to be disappointed when a drama does not turn out the way they wanted.
