I heard both xukai and zhou dong yu being attack from early on she being not pretty enough for their standard and he for being fat. I have to question what is wrong with these cnets, xukai is too skinny already what is their standard of beauty. If they don't like, then don't watch no need to make these mean comments.

Story of yanxi palace, really recommend that one if you don't mind sad ending.

Why do people rate a drama so early? I always wait until i finished the drama to rate it.

The first half follows novel, while second half the censorship took out some important scenes so i'm reading novel for the answer. I like the adaptation because it follows novel, but i do see how some of xukai fans might not like it when he has so little screen time compare to other characters. I like the other characters as well as the time period, so i was really enjoying it.

After watching court lady where the two main leads fell for each other pretty fast, this one is a slow burn for me since they just start to notice each other, and becoming attract to each other. Don't know how things will turn out in 8 eps, but i predict they will become much closer. I hope the pace won't be too fast, but i don't want it to drag either. Hope this drama will do well, and will end well ^^.

I don't mind the dubbing if it matches the character. Xukai character in court lady is different from his character in ancient love poetry; i'm loving his voice for bai jue in here, it's so gentle i love it so much as well as shangu. Don't have a problem with the dubbing since i don't understand chinese anyway.

He has one main role in song of youth with bailu.

From my observation he likes her determination/personality, and also he's the type who like to keep away from crowds, she probably the first girl who comes that close to him, so he starts to notice her. While for her, she attracted to his good look. This looks like a slow burn romance, so i'm loving their interaction so far watching only 2 eps...

Loving the ost in ep 2 when he was teaching her swordplay, beautiful lyrics and love the interaction between xukai and zhou dongyu ^^

I have to say, the subtitles are too fast. I have to backtrack a few times to read the subtitles so i can understand it might make someone sleepy after having to read the subtitles for the same scenes multiple times. That what is happens to me, otherwise i'm enjoying xukai and zhou dongyu interaction in the first two eps so far ^^

Why do you call it mediocre, i actually love that drama and xukai role in it. I love it so much i'm reading the novel to it now.

More dramas coming for xukai ancient love poetry and falling into your smile, might be airing the same month. Looking forward to both dramas ^^

Don't let the preview fool you, if you like story of yanxi palace and arsenal military academy, then i would recommend this drama. This is such a gem, it's sad to see not many appreciate the intricate plot and the change from being light hearted to a more serious and mature drama as it progress.

It follows novel, usually i would complain about his screen time too, but for this one i like the multitude of characters and i'm glad it didn't stray from novel.

Her story line continues in novel i think. In the drama it never show she got back with lu qi after she went back to her own family.

My anticipation for this drama with the release of the ost and new posters ^^

I think it worth it. You can judge for yourself, it's only 8 more episodes to go and it's a happy ending ^^

Court lady is a mature drama. It started out very light hearted in first half, in second half it fills with lots of palace politics. If you love strong female lead, this is a drama for you, she has a strong sense of justice and will always follow her heart and do the right thing. Romance is not the focus of this drama, because the main leads are separated for the most of the drama, but when they are together both are adorable, in return there are many side couples and many sweet moments.
