I think that's the best of two worlds though. Getting good work but not dealing with stalkers and creeps that…
That would be great, but i also heard she gets blame for dramas she starred in if it's not doing well. I think a drama success involves many effort not just the leading actors, so blaming only her is ridiculous.
I think the drama cut out all the Fu Shui and Prince Zhou scenes -_-". Not sure if it will come up later since…
So it was consort yan the whole time. I assume he also wants the throne, but he just smart by keeping his involvement a secret to gain the emperor favor. Thanks for clarifying ^^
Furou is kind of like the fl in story of yanxi palace. Both of them are so smart and is a no nonsense kind of girl. It looks to me once she made up her mind about returning to the palace, she chose her career over her love life. If she live in this day and age, she would be call a career woman, and it would be an acceptable choice and people wouldn't complain so much. I feel sad for chumu, he kind of like the neglected lover, but i'm glad for the break up, because it pushes him to go farther in his career as a Datang's general and he is not doing it for furou anymore, but to contribute to his country and to make his family proud...I'm so proud of him, and the way furou looks at him when he was in his armor, she looks so prideful like her guy finally made a name for himself ^^
There are many couples, not just main couple. I like it since romance is not the main focus of this drama. Ml and fl are separated due to fl working in the palace, very interesting drama if you seen story of yanxi palace, it has a similar vibe only the focus is on the lives of everyday people instead of just the harem.
I think the drama cut out all the Fu Shui and Prince Zhou scenes -_-". Not sure if it will come up later since…
I'm also up to ep 48 as well. So there are scenes of fu shui and prince zhou, is this from the novel i knew somthing is fishy about prince zhou. He has to have been involve in making crown prince and prince han become enemies of each other, that would help him get closer to the throne.
Sorry I've to disagree with you on the pairing of Xu Kai and Li Yitong as I don't find any chemistry between them.…
I find them a really silly couple in the beginning because they both are so different, furou is so serious and shy while chumu is comical and childish. They made an odd couple, and i like the pairing, plus the mood in the first half of this drama is more lighthearted, so it makes sense. After the break up, the mood becomes more somber, and we are getting to the more serious side of their relationship. I'm glad for this break up actually because it gives chumu a chance to grow up, and this time it's not for furou but for himself.
this one had 20+ also. the story was not centered around it. made me happy queen died. she was a bitch. no king…
No question about the king has absolute power. I don't know how true to history, but in history the king is known to love his wife and has honor her after her death. Also it was this time period that there are women officials, before that women only position are either servants or the king's concubines, so yes women play a major roles in this time period. Both story of yanxi palace and court lady are adapted from real history in different time period, how true to history it's we can speculate, but for this drama i like to see the queen holding lots of power and the king being so supportive.

I'm saying because the emperor loves and respect the queen, her power is absolute, there is no backstabbing, no fighting for his favor because they knew they had no chance against the queen ^^. She is powerful and i love that this drama was able to show her life story, because she is a real historical figure. Compare to story of yanxi palace, women can't interfere in politic while in this drama they have a much bigger roles to play. I'm very glad for this drama, i appreciate knowing more about the history of this time period and the roles women play and their contribution.
Love him in court lady. His character growth is a delight to watch. Compare to fuca fuheng who's so perfect but unrealistic, his character in court lady actually undergo a change after meeting fl, and then work hard to earn his title as a general almost losing his life in the process, and we get to see actual battles. Sheng chumu and fuca fuheng are so different like night and day in the beginning, but toward the end of the show chumu is just as respected and capable as fuheng. Love xukai for playing these opposite roles in court lady and story of yanxi palace, i can't think of any other actor who could portray these roles ^^
Have to say the queen in court lady has so much power, she's is responsible for the harem, but she was able to appoint women as female officials and hold important official business, as well as having power over the life and death of another person compare to story of yanxi palace where the queen power was only to manage the king's harem, but she was disrespected by other concubines, got scheme by them and eventually committed suicide. This queen on the other hand died due to over working and worrying over her sons, complete different life story, just show the different between the two emperors as well. I like the emperor in this one better, just show a king can have feeling and be a good leader to his people, as well as knowing to use the right people. Both of them are very wise, too bad about the crown prince, he turns out to be a dissapointment.
The emperor in yanxi palace was the cause of so many women suffering because he has too many women, and he doesn't truly love any of his women that's why they in constant battle over who will gain his favor.
I love this drama, finished it today 9.2 I would’ve given it a 10, but that ugly red hair monster made me land…
Lol, i also didn't like jiang wu very much. His character went from evil to being redeem in the drama which i heard didn't happen in novel. This drama was pretty good until the wedding scene, then it start to have so many filler that didn't add up as a result making the drama suffer. Jiang wu became more relevant, but i got so annoyed with how every other character were left unexplore just so they can give jiangwu a redemption arc, in the end making the story suffer and ruin every other character even main leads beside jiang wu lol.
I'm watching it for xukai too, and i have to say i really love his character development in this drama. He went…
I watch it for xukai, but i also watch it for the story as well. This is a palace drama, so there are lots characters and lots of couples not just the main couple. If you don't care for it, then you can skip for his scenes, but you might not understand most of it, i watch from the beginning and still go back to rewatch to understand the plot and await new eps so i do think it worth it ^^
Sorry I've to disagree with you on the pairing of Xu Kai and Li Yitong as I don't find any chemistry between them.…
The one exception is the crown princess, who went from a good girl to a psycho who would murder her own sister and servant just to cling to power and the crown prince.

That's the thing. This is a simpler time, and women don't have many choices to choose from like they have today. Furou is a sensible girl, but she also inexperience in love, she falls for the first guy who she thought met all her requirements of what she was looking for in a husband, and she stay true to her feeling. I do see the chemistry, but i think ml and fl fall in love too fast and that why they have so many problems now. Their misunderstanding could've been solve so easily if they communicate, but she is letting him misunderstood her for so long with no explanation due to her work in the palace, etc. I'm reading the novel now, and the drama follows the novel very closely in the beginning...
What happened with crown princess left me unsatisfied due to the cut scenes. The only thing good about her is her love for crown prince, but that also turn her from a good girl in the beginning to a schemer who would do anything even cause the death of her own sister to help the crown prince get an edge over his own brother. In all this mess, what going on with prince zhou because the one who would benefited the most from crown prince and prince han infighting is him, but he is mia, although i suspect he and his mother do have something to do with crown prince and prince han falling out, and fu shui might be working for them since he is scheming into getting to work in the palace as a royal physician after saving consort yan.
Is it a happy ending between male lead and female lead.I want to watch it because of Xu Kai the most
I'm watching it for xukai too, and i have to say i really love his character development in this drama. He went from a good for nothing to a general being feared by his enemies. His screen time is like a support character, but it does appear in the later eps he is getting more screen times. I'm not complaining, as long as the story is intact and have a good ending, just wish for the ml and fl to have lots of scenes together after being apart for so long.
Episode 49: The MC is such a fucking hypocrite... She did all that speech about revenge and taking the law into…
For some reason i don't feel fuyin actually took revenge. She went for revenge in the beginning, then fell for her enemy. Now she's telling her brother to let it go for her and her baby.
I think every side chracters are face blind didn't anyone take a peek at him and notice he is Chen Ji the guy…
Even the crown prince, he said to him once he and chenji have different face, so my guess is they just use the same actor and chenji and fushui are two different people. Even furou doesn't recognize him, and she was chenji's friend.
The emperor in yanxi palace was the cause of so many women suffering because he has too many women, and he doesn't truly love any of his women that's why they in constant battle over who will gain his favor.
