Why do you think fushui poison the cake? I thought it was crown princess that did it, that's why i think she gotten off too easy. I kind of feel sorry for crown prince for putting so much trust in someone he thought was his confidant who turn out to be his worst enemy and made him loss everything he work hard for as a child. I actually don't care for any of the royals beside prince han and prince qin who became the future crown prince and the emperor and empress, they're wise and benevolence, but can also be ruthless. Unlike you i watch this drama for pleasure, not to judge whether these people gotten their just deserved, but i do think this drama did a good job with the ending, those who commit evil were brought to justice, while those who do good got rewarded.

I find li yitong character is consistent through out the drama. She was always about justice, and doing what is right. I don't get the backlash is it because those people just don't like her character design? A girl wanting to contribute her talent to her country like any man, that she even neglected her lover. Xukai feels like the neglected lover here, i love it whenever he's onscreen though, he and his family are the most fun to watch ^^ I feel this drama was fine until ep 47, where there were obviously cut scenes until the 55 eps, but it's still an enjoyable watch.

He was involve with fushui, but he wasn't the direct cause of those deaths, and he also save lots of lives by turning against fushui in the last minute like the princess and those officials. Most of these characters have shade of gray and that what made them interesting. I don't have much expectation for his character, but i do feel he truly loves ying ying and will treat her well.

I actually feel the two brothers crown prince and prince han have a good relationship in the beginning due to their mother teaching. Fushui was trying to get revenge on the royal family, so he made crown prince and crown princess suspicious of prince han, making them believe prince han wants to kill him, turning him against his own brother. Both crown prince and crown princess were manipulated by fushui causing them to turn their target on princess consort han. In my opinion crown princess is the most to blame because she was the one that cause all those deaths her sister, princess consort han, chujun...Chujun was the most tragic to me if he has hide like his brother told him he would still be alive, but he went back to look for the hairpin and found out the truth about ling wei's death. Crown princess committed suicide, crown prince loss his title, prince han was demoted so there're consequences for their actions, it's just long coming. There are some scenes that were cut from the drama that would give a more satisfying ending to crown princess, since she got off too easy in my opinion.

I think it's your dislike of him that making you misjudged prince zhou. He refuses to kill his father and would rather commit suicide. It was his mother words that stopped him, and he realizes that he has misunderstood his mother, and she was just being used. He pretend to go through with it to fool them so he could rescue his father from them. Was lord han ever cause anyone death, i don't remember, i'm saying both lord han and crown prince were able to mend their relation after they were put in jail together. I don't excuse crown prince, he was foolish by trusting the wrong people and as a result lots of people die from it, and he did get punished by losing his title of crown prince. He would've been executed if not for his mother pleading for his life when she was alive.

They did misunderstood each other, prince han and the crown prince were put together in the same cell, and were able to talk things out and the crown prince realizes he was wrong about his brother wanting to kill him. Prince zhou was never involve in any of the palace scheme against his father, someone who read the novel correct me on that, before i was also like you and thought he was scheming with his mother, but it does look like consort yan and him were used as a puppet, and consort yan was killed by her own servant when she refuse to cooperate with him any longer.

I feel this one has more romance because there are many side couples not just one main romance if that's something you are ok with.

I'm not being lenient to him, but from the beginning he wasn't a good guy. He chose to work for the emperor because he wants to get back with furou. Later he realizes he needs to climb the social ladder by associating with lord liang and crown prince. Then he started working with fushui, all of his action is so he can get more power and get revenge on the Lu's family. Lu ying ying love for him made him change his mind about revenge, and he even help to save her brother life. This is the guy who is only thinking of gains, but he was willing to give it all up for yingying and go back to his life from before he went to changan. He went after lord liang because he wanted ying ying back, and that's why he put all the blame on lord liang in his letter to the emperor. Ying ying knew of his involvement in her husband death, so time will tell whether she will forgive him. I don't blame him for the death of chumu's brother and sister because that wasn't related to him. That was scheme by fushui and the crown princess. He was a character i like in the beginning like prince zhou, but both of them became unlikable. Lord liang was a surprised, he was willing to die to give ying ying her freedom, so he is not as bad as i thought, just as luqi at least when it comes to the girl they love, they can change for the better.

Zifang was a pirate, so he was playing both sides. He told furou he only cares about himself and the people he loves, so i don't judge him for not being a totally good guy. What matter is, he turns as a result turning the tide, him betraying fushui for ying ying gave him a chance to be with her. She is not going to forgive him easily since he was responsible for her husband death.

He was never planning to fight against his father. They planned to force him to kill his father, and he refuse. Consort yan was just a puppet as we found out, and she let him in on their plan, and that's why he pretends to follow the plan. I love the three brothers fighting to protect their father, it just shows no matter how things turns out, they will not betray their father no matter what. The emperor is a good father, he was able to instill in all his sons filial piety.

He was great in court lady, playing two characters totally opposite from each other ^^

No prince zhou didn't become king or become a rebel. He stay loyal to his father.

I feel he has improve as an actor, but in my opinion he started out as a natural actor who work hard to where he at now. Story of yanxi palace and the legend were filmed in the same year, and the characters have some similarity both are very devoted ml and have a cold facade but we can still tell the difference between these two characters, fuca fuheng is a nobleman so he is composed and has the air of elegance about him, while li chenlan is innocent in the beginning, and then become jaded so he is cold and emotionless, and only show his emotion in front of the fl. I also love him in arsenal military academy, once upon a time and dance of the sky empire as well as court lady because the characters are entertaining, and show his talent for comedy as well as his serious side. He excels in emotional scenes and i love his portrayal of each character he plays, and that is why i'm looking forward to his future projects ^^

With all my complains i went back and rewatch the episodes and the cut didn't ruin my enjoyment of this drama. I'm extremely happy how this drama turn out, chumu and furou got their happy ending as well as his brother and the princess. Too bad about his youngest brother and older sister :( but in a way he got his revenge for them, the one who was behind all the scheme was finally killed. Great acting from main to support characters beside xukai and liyitong, i'm loving the actors who play emperor and empress, they really the highlight of this drama. Zifang and ying ying will get the chance to mend their relationship hopefully. What is left is furou's sister and luqi, it was never mention whether she went back with him or left him for good. If she truly wants revenge, this is her chance to make him heartbroken losing both her and their child. Really love all the battle scenes even if they're too short. Over all because of the cut i would give it 9.5, but for my enjoyment i'll give it 10 ^^

Interesting i love this character even till now, so he must have done something right lol. My second lead syndrome ^^ Love xukai for the portrayal of fuca fuheng. This is the role that got me impress with his acting, and starts to follow his other works. His character is someone who doesn't show much emotion, but we can still see in his eyes, someone who tormented by love and has to hide his emotion behind a cold facade. I have follow most of his dramas and he is so convincing in all the characters he played even with little experience in acting. Sheng chumu and fuca fuheng are so different like night and day, i can't think of any other actor that could portrayed these two roles like he can ^^
