it was one of the worst dramas ive ever watched . and i know its kind of being against whole kdrama fans ideology…
I really liked her in Full House but it went downhill from there. She used to be so energetic and full of life and expression, what happened to her, I wonder because that was the only drama I liked seeing her in. People mention The Glory drama - I'll have a look but I don't expect miracles.
It took me a long time to watch the first 8 episodes, I simply can't force myself to carry on, therefore I came here to read some 'negative' reviews because, frankly, I don't see much of a story. Horror of horrors, I've just noticed it's not a 16 episodes drama, it's 24 !!! Those 24 episodes are over an hour each ! No way I can afford that kind of time if it goes so slowly. In another review I found out he dies at the end, while I'm a stickler for tragic ends, I only accept them if the story was captivating which doesn't seem to be the case here. I'll tell you what, I'll check that drama you recommended and say a big Thank You to you for saving my time.
So you made this comment to tell me that my rating is unfair? Because I had expectations? I guess there are a…
Yes, that's right, it's that instinct that kicks in early on, I feel the same. I started in nov.'19, not long ago but long enough to develop a certain feel for them. This drama touched me enough to shed a few tears, I was surprised because I became quite insensitive over the years. For that, I rewarded it with good marks whether it deserved it or not, it's very personal, I won't dispute the way you felt about it, I only wanted to say it meant something special to me.

:-) - good answer. It's nice talking to people who have the same outlook on things but it's even nicer to learn from those whose perspectives are different. I understand your way of rating, I've read it before on other people's comments but why do I have this feeling that it's not quite right ? Rationally, it's true, people watch dramas and are free to rate them in any way they want, sentimentally though, I feel for the work that goes into making it and the years people spent getting there - the writers, the actors, all the auxiliary staff, and so on. When I started watching Korean dramas I was so impressed, they were different from everything else I had watched. That didn't last long as then I noticed more and more problems, plotholes and bad acting - ah, the screaming and screeching to name just a few. I had two options : stop watching them because I could pinpoint what was wrong too easily or...accepting the way they are - three big categories : perfect, not bad and unwatchable. I felt that my ratings would be unfair if I started taking away stars every time they didn't meet my expectations, most of them would be on the back burner so, I accepted the way the Koreans see fit to make their dramas and give stars generously because, at the end of the day, it was my choice to watch them. My only request these days is for them to make sense - this one is a fantasy drama, the ball was in the writers' court, they were free to lead it anywhere they wanted and I was impressed with it, I gave it 9 because it's close to perfection. Nice talking to you, I like exchanging ideas with other people. Your mind is very organised, I, on the other hand, think with my heart most of the time.
"But my expectations were really high and left me disappointed."
It's like with everything, our expectations are, most of the time, unrealistic because they are based on our imagination.
I learned long time ago to not watch trailers because they show highlights which help form false ideas in our mind.
As for previews, I also learned to close my eyes quickly, they are also disappointing.
I had Zero expectations from this drama and I was elated with it - the energy of all those young actors was infectious, I have a long list of dramas to finish watching and this one was not even heard of but, somehow, reading some comments, I came across the name of this drama and it made me curious - I had no intention to watch it so, I saw the first 2 episodes and, like you, I thought 'meh, not sure about it' and I was ready to drop it. Sure enough, the weekend arrived and I watched a bit more only to realise it's a time travel drama. Again, I was a bit disappointed because I've seen too many of these, especially Chinese. But what captured my interest was the young actors, the natural way they acted kept me pinned in front of the screen and I finished it in record time, it was excellent.
Had I'd known anything about it, being a high school drama - no, thanks, time travel - no, thanks, lots of noisy stage music - no, thanks, I would have never even started.
It turned out that, in spite of all those personal negatives, this drama is, in fact, a hidden gem. Why hidden ? Because I don't think enough people have heard of it and it's such a pity, I would recommend it yo just anyone.
But, seriously now, few Korean dramas reach perfection and, to mark one low because it wasn't the way we expected, that's not fair !
Not on viki. I set the movie aside to check out some tips I have seen for a better translation of English. Thanks…
I'm having fun with mistranslations. I used to be angry but I learned to take it easy, I'm thinking - well, as bad as it is, I wouldn't be able to do it so, I should be grateful.
As we have seen with Lee Sun Kyun, it gets worse every time. It's a good thing she shared her problems, Koreans…
I'm not Korean but I'll tell you from my own experience, every time I tried to tell anyone about any of my problems, I was looked at with either indifference or false feelings of empathy. I'm bottling it all now, I understand, people have their own problems in life, they don't need to hear mine and haven't got the slightest clue about how to solve them. Being in the public eye, everything gets magnified by a thousand, I don't know how these people survive.
It was interesting to start with but then I dropped it after ep 7, today I started ep 8 and I got bored in seconds. Then, I read your review and became curious - he finds out about the curse now ? Thanks, I'll go back and try to watch it, wish me luck ! lol
I wish it was just a dream. so unbelievable.Rest in peace our beloved ahjussi
I wish so, too, we are supposed to wake up from the nightmare, not wake up to it. This was the first news I read on UK media, it feels as if we lost someone very close to us, such was his screen presence. Too sad, can't stop crying.
