On The Cursed Land Dec 21, 2024
Really liked this and how it refused to rush anything, just layered on the what is going on until it was ready to tell us.
On The Curse of Saree Dec 20, 2024
Was there Bollywood in the plot amongst all the lakorn? I haven't seen enough to know. Or maybe it's just fairytale? I really liked it, the ML's whys made a lot of emotional sense.
(Note for the squeamish - it's not horror and "curse" doesn't fit. The Secret of Saree would be better as its English name.)
Thai Drama Club Dec 12, 2024
I have a trust-worthy friend helping who loves these sorts of rabbit holes.
Collecting info here: Ai Long Ni, Arm Sappanyoo and Porsch Apiwat. (Waiting on chai/mai chai for the leads Meen and Ping.)
upcoming TBA: The Ocean Eyes, Mew Suppasit and Tul Pakorn
Will hopefully be some more with Thailand equalising marriage soon <3
On The Undertaker Dec 12, 2024
I really liked this. It's slow and quirky, at times surreal. Horror and suspense are misleading tags. More like slice of life with humour and a ghost and . And that last part is what's most important and I don't know how to talk about it without giving things away. It won't be for everyone but if you're willing to walk with it, it's very much worth the time.

It's not so much that it picks up - it's a slow film throughout - but that it gains depth. Perhaps it wasn't the right time, or maybe it's just not for you.
On The Rocket Angels Dec 9, 2024
Unpretentious low-brow humour that never tries to be anything else, a mor lam soundtrack and loud ladyboy madness. It's certainly lifted my spirits tonight :)

Title Hong Hoon
This is a very strange movie. It's possible that it might be marginally less strange if I had more Thai or subtitles but only marginally.
On The Believers Dec 4, 2024
Does this perk up after the first couple of episodes? It doesn't have any of the spark I'm used to in Thai series and movies. Given the premise I find myself waiting for it to go comedy or lakorn but it just keeps plodding along.

Thank you so much for sharing how you were able to process the frustrating ending. I am going to do what you did...and…
Glad my vent/organising my thoughts helped you :) I really hope this is the start of long careers for Parky and Beck, together and separately. They were so good.
On Switch of Fate Nov 29, 2024
The realism of Ya having to negotiate and manage her husband's emotions because he just won't.... uff.
On Blackout Nov 29, 2024
Title Blackout
Flashing lights first half of episode 5. Take care if you need to.
On U-Prince: Hippy Nov 20, 2024
and here i thought i was settling in for something on the lighter side to offset a lakorn... charisma, kindness and a gently beautiful story with some big emotions

i finished watching and i honestly didn’t expect it to be this good. i was bored at first bc i just picked this…
it wasn't Joe's ancestors. it was Joe in a previous life. probably was a robbery, the "more" was the revelation about his involvement.
