They didn't search that day because what happened the entire day will be told throughout the story and the marquis was busy waiting to apprehend Kuai Duo, and it's Marquis's second son who is unfavoured and neglected. You will see in future eps that he's not present in most of the family prayers and meetings, basically outcasted in the family. They might still be looking for him but it was not an urgent situation that day, and it's not like he went missing for a long time.

Zhuang Zhixing seems more motivated by emotion than scheming. That day in his childhood was a big memory for him, maybe it was the first time he felt like his father is a really bad person. He was fixated on his guess because it was the only guess he had and he sympathised with ZH. Meanwhile ZH, even if he denies or even proves it's someone else, the Marquis's suspicious and paranoid nature will kill him regardless, so he had to agree and bide his time to think of something else. He realised ZZX is emotional, so he further went down that road and found some truths to show ZZX and get him in his team. It's risky to keep ZZX in the team tho, because he's so emotional, he will easily feel soft towards his father who is ZH's main target.

I suggest Mission Impossible movies too, the hero always outsmarts the villains, even when the script isn't very smart.

They just want to watch a different drama (I know which one). Simply ignoring that he outsmarted Shen Lou's attack on him with the rumours, and found a way to still turn Zhixing into becoming an ally, after initially planning to manipulate him and then deciding to kill him. It's the tipping of balance between the sides and the improvisation that makes the drama interesting, imo.

It's just people who are used to a certain trope, expect that trope, and then cry when they don't get it.

It's a balance of successes and failures. You are just focusing on the failures, which are not even failures. He infiltrated successfully and managed to clear out the Marquis's loyal men, managed to gain an impression in the court too. He managed to gain a good impression of the Marquis, trust is yet to come but not without obstacles. He has come out of most traps by improvising. The whole idea is that he's winging it, he has no big masterplan, no huge personality cues of his enemies or a table full of strengths and weaknesses of every person. Most MLs usually have these kinds of help ready for them, but he has almost nothing.

And also i don't understand what was such a big deal about wanting to alert the FL of danger in the place in the beginning. If it went the other way and a massacre broke out then everyone would've been like wow he's so clever for noticing a tense situation. It came from kindness, he's not some stone cold killer with a big plan. I would hardly call it getting outbested.

Last thing, I don't even think ZH is trained to suspect everyone. He's not entering a political conspiracy, he's not aiming to destablise a kingdom. Whether he does that later on not doesn't matter because he was never told about it. His aim is to kill the Marquis only. So if he can sense a dangerous situation arising in a public place like Zhen Lou why wouldn't he alert people?

In future, Zhuang Zhixing might want to stop him from killing his father which might create conflict between them.

Zhixing feels unpredictable and morally conflicted about this, but i don't think he's hiding any long term nefarious plan - can't say the same about his shifus.

Hmm, it seems like because it happened back to back, many are feeling like his identity is being revealed to everyone. But it's only known to people who were present that day when Zhinu was whiplashed, and all of them were kids. So apart from his childhood brothers and Zhixing, only Antu can further figure his identity through the whiplash scar. I see it more like team building narrative development; to stay alive and achieve revenge he needs some friends and supporters. I feel like I trust Guanfeng and Zhixing more than his shifus who trained him from childhood.

It seems to me ZH is impulsive, has lots of rage and is lowkey suicidal. He had only one mission that is to kill PJH, it doesn't matter if he could escape after PJH died, or if he died along with PJH. But now that he knows there are two more, he has realised he has to be calmer and more rational, less rageful, and think about a future beyond PJH.

It would be a complete detour plotwise and thematically😂
