last episode seemed a bit rushed, especially the scenes with bai gungun i wish we got more scenes of donghua and…
Totally agree! I think some scenes with DJ learning to be a dad would have been super cute. I also think when they first meet, Gungun should have said something like "You have silver hair too. Mum said that there are people in the Sky Kingdom who look the same as me." (Since FJ had that whole convo with Gungun about his hair colour).
The last two episodes made me cry so much. JiHeng did not deserve that ending but I was happy for XiaoYan! I wish…
It really annoyed me that that scene with Ji Heng and Xiao Yan in the last episode was so long. I skipped it (which I never do in dramas). If they had shortened that scene and made it a bit less forced, it would be better. I think some subtle suggestion that Ji Heng had let go of DJ and opened her her heart to Xiao Yan would have been more appropriate. Personally I think Xiao Yan should have had some integrity and self-respect and let go of his obsession with Ji Heng. She was annoying and nasty near the end, she didn't deserve a harppy ending, at most she deserved enlightenment.
I kinda wish they'd cut down on other things and made the finale longer. Also I woulda preferred to have seen…
I didn't mind Xiao Yan's affection for Ji Heng, but I totally skipped that last scene where she is like, after this time in this cabin, I love you now. It felt so fake and forced. I know that the actress playing Ji Heng owned the rights to the series and therefore got so much airtime, but honestly, by the end I just couldn't stand her.
Eagerly awaiting the last two episodes...! Overall I feel that this series tempo is all wrong. I think there was too much time devoted to the very young FJ (I found the first 20 episodes so boring, but I ploughed through hoping it would get better, which it does by the way ) and also I felt the Aranya Dream arc went on a bit too long...
More time needed to be devoted to the climax of the series. Also... Miao Luo 's character and relationship with DHDJ is never really explained? Why did DH say that she saw there was something hiding in the Yueling flowers? To me that sounds like they had a connection in the past? Why is she evil?
Anyone know when subs are going to be added to the latest batch of episodes (37-42)? It's driving me crazy. They're sitting there day after day saying "Raw". :'(
This drama deserves a better scoreEdit: I meant the rating.
I 100% agree with you. The score is unremarkable and there are no really good songs. good score paired with two or three great songs can really make a drama.
Need some advice, please! I'm currently watching on Kiss Asian, they've only got up to episode 24, will there be more episodes available soon? Or is there a better place to watch more episodes? Thanks!
I really want to watch this drama, because I was really impressed by Luo Jin in Princess Weiyoung, but, based on the reviews, I'm scared I will descend into a deep pit of misery however it takes to watch this drama....
It's not a continuation of Eternal Love but rather a adaptation of the novel The Pillow Book. (Eternal Love changed…
It's about artistic integrity and knowing that the production team are there to make you shine. Knowing that taking so much from the budget that they can't afford to make high quality sets and costumes? Meh. I think that's a bit far!

Oh really?! Thanks for the information. I think it's a shame. Also, if I was in their shoes I wouldn't sacrifice the production team. Costumes and sets help the actors shine. It's selfish, but also a bit dumb.
I didn't think Eternal Love had a high production budget, but when you compare the two, it's quite striking.
Some of my favourite series also have high production budgets. Rise of the Phoenixes, for example, although that also had Netflix funding.

I see... I haven't read the books. I've gotten into it now, but it lacks the sophistication of Eternal Love and I think the production looks a bit cheap. Compare Dong Hua Dijun's costumes from Eternal Love to this one. The fabric looks cheap in comparison. This makes no sense to me. Surely since this drama was so anticipated, they would have had sufficient funding? Maybe its directors and designers just aren't as good as Eternal Love.
I loved Eternal Love, watching the first episode of The Pillow Book, the timeline seems all over the place and doesn't match up with the first series. Also... is it only me or is it so corny and lower budget in comparison to the last one (the costumes look a bit cheap)? PLEASE TELL ME IT GETS BETTER.
