I can't stand when men wear their hair up, so I barely recognized Keam, who looks so sexy with it down.I'm not…
Regarding men wearing their hair up, to me it very much depends on who is doing the wearing. It's one of those style things that just works on some people and not on others. I like Keam's hair up but not the way the side hair sticks out from the parts. Needs to be completely buzzed on the sides on give up on it. He's got an easy-going sexiness about him that's appealing, hair up OR down.
There's a character in a Filipino BL that I dropped just yesterday because it's terrible, who has shoulder length hair. He's constantly pushing it out of his face with dramatic flair, as there's nothing to hold it back. Annoying.
This series is a mess. I mean I am unable to feel the lead Chem. Bomb courting Jin is wrong on whole other level…
Hi there. Seems like you should probably drop watching the series, eh? lol I almost did just that until I saw this week's episode, in which I saw a big leap in quality over earlier ones. I am curious, though: What is it you see as "wrong" about Bbomb courting Jin?
Exactly what the fuck is your imbecilic ***TRIGGER WARNING*** supposed to be for? What is it in that clip that…
Nope. Not going to play your nicey-nice game. The only way to evaluate another person on the Internet is by what they say or write. What you wrote, with that ridiculous trigger warning blazing at its top, are the words of an SJW. I have no problem attaching that label to you and your comment, that you don't like it is not my problem.
I'm not interested in a discussion with you about this issue. Anyone who looks at the clip you posted, and I looked at another longer one, and sees disgusting, morally degrading and offensive behavior in what the director or acting coach did is way out to lunch. How am I going to have a discussion with someone like you who sees politically incorrect , offensive behavior around every corner. I've been around a long time; I know your type by your words.
I've written two too-long comments already on this thread explaining my position so I'm not going to repeat myself here. But do let me try this extreme analogy: If a person watches that clip and reports they see Velociraptors and monkeys flying in to snatch the actors off the ground, then tearing them apart and eating them right before our eyes, are you going to take the time to engage that person in some sort of respectful discussion? After all, we perceive everything from a subjective position, do we not?
You're simply making shit up. I have no interest in trying to "educate" or dissuade you from your preposterous opinion involving Velociraptors. It's a waste of time. I am interested though, in "calling out" the subtle, censorious nature of people such as you.. So that's what I do. I'm not real concerned about being kind and loving in my comments. People insult me here all the time. I don't care. Try that yourself.
I am also kind of tired listening to bad things about the scene; I am in all honesty if I were in Jin's shoes…
Hi Veensie. Yes, I was way wrong about a punch being thrown. It's actually kind of mature of Jin to say "I don't know, I'm confused, etc." rather than going all gay-panic and lashing out physically and emotionally at Bbomb. Thing is, I don't buy that he has a choice to make between Bbomb and Som Som. He doesn't know her AT ALL. She's just some chick with a crush that he recently became aware of.
I'm enjoying the mystery surrounding Keam...he seems to want everybody. :D Yeah, Jack is adorable and I feel for him regarding Som Som but he needs to be with his best bud Singh when they figure out they are already in love, don't you think? :)
Pretty much everyone on this campus is either gay or extremely gay-friendly, which is interesting. I feel like this show took a step or two upward in quality with this episode. Jin's acting got better. The first couple of scenes with him and Bbomb in the parking lot and then in the car, discussing their feelings toward each other were very touching and well-acted. A lot of subtlety I haven't seen to this point. I know it's just a silly BL but it's always nice to see some real effort being made.
That was sad. And scary. And totally disgusting act for that director.
How do you have time to comment here? Shouldn't you be out saving some actor/victim from toxic, inappropriate, problematic, disgusting and scary behavior by a director who touched them for half a second?
Nitiman means lawman. Apparently some of the Thai language has Sanskrit roots. Hence I recognize some words. Niti…
Well, "Lawman" makes perfect sense, given your explanation. Actually, I think that's kind of a cool name for the show. Jin is at the center of the story, of course, but almost all of the action/reaction in the plot is driven by Bbomb, the "Lawman." And he certainly has the air of authority and charisma that often surrounds an officer of the law in films.
Ever since I watched this clip, I have seen the full BTS video, and I dunno. I kind of have a different perspective.…
I think commenters like this one might actually, sincerely believe that what we saw in that clip IS truly, actually sexual harassment. It is scary what a certain element of younger people are trying to stigmatize as out-of-bounds behavior. NO tolerance for the infinity of grays that make up our world, to them everything is black or white. It's horrible.
We have theatre degrees in common. I added a graduate degree in Journalism just because i wanted to keep going to school. :) I remember doing a romantic scene with a very close female friend but for whatever reason, thank god, the script didn't call for a smooch. That would have been a challenge but I've no doubt we could have pulled it off. Hey, it's acting, right? We just had to kind of hold each other and talk quietly right into each other's eyes/faces and the intimacy we shared as friends was very useful for that.
Oh well, who cares what THEY think, right? lol As long as WE can recognize quality when we see it. You speak truth when you mentioned that both series reveal WHY the characters are behaving in certain ways, as opposed to just having them act in ways inconsistent with who the seem to otherwise be.
"Toxic" is one of those criticism words I associate with others like "problematic" and "normalize." They're straight out of the SJW dictionary.
All of a sudden I'm enjoying this series again. The quality level of this ep was back up to that of the first couple. I was either laughing out loud or sniffling. That scene in the beginning with Nan and Mork in the empty auditorium is the first time this series has made me weepy. I could feel the authentic love that Mork feels for Pi and I believed it for the first time. God knows WHY he feels that way, but he most certainly does.
Pi's antics in reacting to Mork's "girlfriend" and then trying to retaliate were hysterical, especially the three BL "falls" in a row in the bakery. lol
Pi and Mork's talk at the end outside was touching as well. It's clear that a big part of Pi's resistance to Mork's charms stem from the fact that he just can't conceive of anyone honestly being attracted to him; he harbors a deep well of insecurity from his old days of being bullied as a nerd. And Mork was so very sincere in everything he said to Pi, it was really moving. God, that young man is SO freaking handsome and those lips...the way he oozes earnestness with those eyes. I would have fainted on the spot. lol
Teaser for next episode looks promising for some laughs. But when are they going to hit the sack, that's what I want to know? :D
Hi there. Thanks for that. I am definitely on the OLDER side of the audience demo and I can't imagine why anyone would find ITSAY OR IPYTM more "childish" than any of the other popular BLs, most of which contain extremely childish plot elements. The story/writing/acting/direction and ESPECIALLY the production, are just a few levels above almost all the others in every respect. I would very much like to know what elements a person found more childish in these two shows than in others. To me the opposite is true. I find them quite sophisticated, as BLs go, and they are much better than other "straight" shows too.
What in the hell is "toxic" about them? That word gets used so often now that it is losing any meaning. "Toxic" has come to mean "anything in a relationship I don't find 100% wholesome and easy." Could you share what some people say is toxic in these two shows?
I'm gay too, and ITSAY may be my favorite BL of all time, and I've seen them all. :D
Ever since I watched this clip, I have seen the full BTS video, and I dunno. I kind of have a different perspective.…
I AM an actor, though mostly semi-pro and amateur with a few pro gigs when I can get them. I am here to say there is NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, ZILCH wrong or offensive or rude or disgusting or unprofessional or degrading or anything else whatsoever in that clip. If I were one of the two actors I would have appreciated him finally showing me exactly what he wanted in the only way he could. And this "sexual assault (and I've no doubt someone will bring it to that point soon) lasted about two seconds. The actors were not uncomfortable. The environment was professional, just as you stated.
It is an ongoing education in these BL drama comment threads, to see what people try to get worked up about. SJW city, to say the least. Do these words seem familiar?:
Now, of course each of these terms has a valid meaning and application in our language. But taken as a whole,, they are the weapons in the war chest of the SOCIAL JUSTICE WARRIOR (google it), the same weapons formerly associated with prudish CHURCH LADIES of all religions around the world. These people want to shut down free expression, free thought, freedom of behavior, especially in cases where it touches on the issue of SEX, of which they are deathly afraid.
The SJWs want to censor, control and limit human behavior in all forms of entertainment media and in real life too. They want anything they deem associated with the terms above to be banned from being portrayed in any medium, and of course in your and my lives too. They are prudish busy-bodies, sex-phobic, nosy motherf**kers who are deeply twisted in their thinking/feeling toward anything sexual, sensual, deeply moving, aggressive, dark or morally/psychologically/spiritually challenging and they must be resisted as strongly as possible whenever their heads pop up out of the toilet bowl.
Lord, I despise these people. They've been around for eons. Only the code-words change.
***TRIGGER WARNING***I hope viewers of this show are aware of this clip -https://twitter.com/dearbillkin/status/1399587755764502528?s=20.…
Exactly what the fuck is your imbecilic ***TRIGGER WARNING*** supposed to be for? What is it in that clip that would trigger someone...about what, exactly? Being directed as an actor by a coach who cares that you get it right?
You know, I have read a lot of really stupid SJW bullshit on the comment boards here on MDL, but yours is the most ridiculous one yet. I just watched this clip, and to try to make a big issue, or even a little issue, out of the acting coach's work with the actors on the kiss in that clip is outrageous. He was trying to get them to know what he wanted to see as far as head movement goes in the kiss and they weren't getting it so finally he grasped them by the neck, not in a rough way, and for about five seconds, and physically guided their heads with his hands. They did not seem "uncomfortable" with what was going on at all. If I were one of the actors, I would be grateful for the definitive direction, knowing exactly what the coach is looking for.
I have acted in a lot of stage/theatre work and I see NOTHING unprofessional about what the coach or director did in this clip. Not at all. Actors, for the most part, are not as uptight as are you, not dying with every second to be offended or scream "rape" or "you grasped my head and moved it against my kissing partner's lips! This is a form of sexual assault! Call the police!"
Hilariously, as far as I can tell, even after all that work and emphasis on directing the kiss, the two actors STILL didn't do it the way he wanted and they ended up in your basic BL "mannequin kiss," which was pretty bad.
What YOU are looking for in BLs, in comment threads, on Youtube, IG, anywhere you can find it, is something to pretend to be morally outraged about so you can bitch about in in social media and here and make yourself feel all self-righteous in your secret places. You are pathetic.
My guess is you are terrified of anything sexual, or even sensual in nature, so you project your discomfort onto the story, the actors, the characters, whatever.
Jin's acting has improved a lot. That smile that is supposedly so radiant and captivating to everyone still looks to me as though he's taking a difficult dump.
This group of friends is the biggest collection of interfering, nosy busy-bodies I've seen. Annoying. The writing seems lacking. Like those long scenes of the slumber party...just nothing much going on. And I do think Jin is being a bit of a dick in leading Bbomb on when he supposedly hasn't made a choice yet. Sleeping on his lap, letting him hang around and stay over in his room, etc. is NOT the kind of thing you do when you're trying not to give someone false hope. Why would that Som-Som or whatever her name is be part of a choice anyway? He doesn't even know her. Seems to me Jin has ALREADY made a choice. He's not wiling to admit it to himself yet.
Keam's cute and interesting but weird. There's a number of strange vibes going around in this group of friends.
I was a little taken out of it by the numerous unnecessary flashbacks, but I agree. Although I instantly knew…
I guess I "get" Teh's response to the tattoo, but man, how self-centered and controlling and just plain mean can you be? The man you love gets a teeny-tiny tattoo of a steaming mug of tea because "tea" is the meaning of your name. In what way is that not adorable, loving, a tribute to you and the longevity of your relationship? And how is that all not made doubly impactful by the fact that it was a surprise? If I were in Teh's shoes I would have swooned with the feels. That would mean the world to me. Instead he was a little bitch about it. I got where Teh was coming from, but where he came from on that was complete bullshit. Oh was showing him how he was changing, but the very core of the change is in the tattoo: It's all about Teh!!! If anything, he's hanging out with these new friends but obviously in his heart and mind Teh is closer to him than ever! Yeah...I call bullshit.
I felt really bad for Oh in that scene and pretty much throughout the episode. He is such a sweetie and incredibly sensitive, and he KNOWS this about himself. A lot of people never learn who they really are. Being rejected over and over at auditions would beat him down in a short amount of time. He was wise to get out. If anything his relationship with Teh will be strengthened and protected by the fact that they are both NOT in the acting business, which is rife with insanity and drama. Oh can be the center of stability for them both.
Don't know why, but flashbacks didn't bother me at all.
Do people hate this on twitter? I don't think it's as good as ITSAY, but I don't hate it (I'm older, BTW). It…
Wow, what an awesome post! You put a lot of my feelings into words. To me this is a top-five BL of all time to this point. Good god, without flaws, dramas would be impossible to make. The more twisted the flaws, the more exciting the possibilities. But yeah, BL audience mostly seem to want politically correct everything and ESPECIALLY no drunken sex.
So much to say about this ep 2 butttt can we talk about the cinematography in the bathroom scene? the yellowish/orange…
THIS is a huge part of what puts this series so far above other BLs. That bathtub scene was gorgeous because of the lighting. Most other BLs take place in rooms lit brighter than the surface of the sun. This show has lots of natural darkness and shadows, especially at night. It's a big part of what make sit all feel so real.
But why, oh why, does Oh have swim trunks on in the tub?
