Meh. Two-thirds through the first episode and I'm not feeling it...does it get any better? Another cliche-fest, which wouldn't be so bad if they were problematic, toxic and non-con cliches, but no such luck. :) Seriously, why bother to film a new BL? Wouldn't it be less expensive to just change the names of existing ones and show them again instead?

The older brother is gorgeous. I like his bushy eyebrows.
The younger brother is a pouty-pants. We knew he'd be the bottom when they first met.
These BL parents who show up one day, say "oh, we're married! and by the way, you have a brother! Please take care of each other." Oy!
Hasn't that gorgeous, very modern mansion been used in about ten other BLs? It always looks as though no one ever actually lives there.

Why is the lip-syncing in BLs almost always way off? Sometimes it seems as though the song we're hearing is completely different from the one the kid is fake-singing to.
Those are my primary complaints for this first two-thirds of an episode.

I haven't even watched this yet, which I'm about to, but your comment caught my eye as I scrolled through. I don't mean this in a smart-ass way. If I did, I would just tell you, believe me, but what is it about nude human bodies that freaks you out to such a degree?

Actually, I used the word "excitement" in a different context with tongue-in-cheek. Get a sense of humor too.

So do you believe that people of various ages look to BLs and other similar content for instruction on what moral values they should adopt? If the audience sees a film in which a murder goes unpunished, will they leave the theatre believing murder is A-OK?

But if Bbomb "listened" and did the good and proper thing, which was to be a gentleman and NOT kiss him, wouldn't the scene have been sort of boring? Wouldn't all BLs and other films and series be extremely dull if everyone in them did the good, proper, moral and right thing all the time? I keep asking this but no one I ask ever answers directly, probably because they know as well as I do that the only answer is "yes, they would be boring." And then we wouldn't have any dramas or comedies at all to watch. And all the SJWs around here wouldn't have anything to bitch and moan about.

Well, I guess that would be the only upside.

But just to check, you ARE aware that when rape or noncon or anything else is depicted in a film or series it is NOT ACTUALLY HAPPENING IRL, right? No one in the parking lot scene actually got kissed against their will while they were drunk...yes? Can we agree on that?

Who are these people, the "they," who have to contact you and screen their films for you so you can make sure they have "framed it correctly" to suit your obviously limited concept of how drama works? Are you aware that there are infinite ways in which events can be portrayed in a drama, and no one has to get your OK to do so in the manner they intend? Do you understand that it is not necessarily a film or series' job to make the audience aware of only those perspectives of which you approve? Rape and noncon sex happen every day IRL and many of the perpetrators are never punished in any way for it. Is it your opinion that such realities should not be allowed to be depicted in fictional works?

Are you referring to "His: What Is Love?" If so, I agree with you entirely. That is one of my favorite BLs. So well done in every way, and the story and characters were unconventional. Nobody in high school or college was allowed in. lol As for GSP, I didn't care for it at all. So much about it seemed stereotypical and quite amateurish to me. But that's just me, I know a lot of other people enjoyed it too.

Totally agree with where you're coming from on IPYTM. I watched ITSAY for the second time a few days ago in two binges as a warm-up to IPYTM. I got more out of it and was more moved in every direction with the second watch. (I highly recommend skipping the Kleenex and going straight to heavy-duty paper towels. That's what I do and they hold up much better through the sobbing and snot-spewing that I do.) That final scene on the sunlit hillside above the ocean DESTROYED me worse than the first time. You know, I tend to go on and on about what a great actor Billiman is, but the dude who plays Oh is every bit as talented. He portrays the struggle to continue speaking as you are overcome with emotion and tears better than anyone I've seen.

I couldn't stand the wait and did watch this first episode of IPYTM, but maybe I'll find a way to hold off so I can binge it.

But what I was hoping for was some explanation of WHY or HOW it is still wrong, dear...

Now...we DO need to keep in mind that at the beginning of the next episode Jin should totally call the cops and report that Bboom has SEXUALLY ASSUAULTED (omg!) him because he did not obtain the requisite, signed consent forms before that kiss. Bboom will go to jail and the series will end. ;)

Actually, since the above will likely NOT happen (thank god!), I predict that Jin will punch Bboom in the face and then glower at him with great anger and revulsion. Never mind that they BOTH held that kiss for a good ten seconds...we need to be reminded that Jin is totally straight and would never, ever allow a hot guy like Bboom to stick his tongue down his throat.

You didn't say in your previous comment that is was "wrong." You asked WHY he kissed him. I'm curious as to in what ways you feel it was "wrong?"

Yeah, it did come out of nowhere, and not in a way that made sense given their back and forth, or the situation. I guess it was a kind of "this dumbass doesn't get that I won't leave him alone or not talk to him or not take care of him because I am totally into him" kind of kiss, given out of frustration in the moment.

I watched I Promised You the Moon last night and then today I watched this. Not even in the same parking lot. IPYTM is a brand-new Rolls-Royce. Nitiman is a used Chevy Vega with 227,000 miles on it.

IPYTM and ITSAY are in an entirely different class of their own, like Super-BLs or something. I thought a couple of times during this episode of how much better in every way those two shows are than this paint-by-the-numbers series. It's like comparing an Oscar-winning film for adults to an less-than-average student film for children.

I love when NONCONSENSUAL things happen in BLs. Hearing all the SJW heads exploding is a delightful addition to the excitement of kiss/rape in the parking lot. Surely Jin will call the cops and press charges.

Kiss was awesome. I like when humans do messy, human things.

Because he is attracted to him, he knows Jin is attracted to him, and also, he is a human being. Human beings often act impulsively and do stupid things they later regret. Those actions are put together in a fictional form we call a DRAMA, in order to created tension, excitement, interest, confusion, etc, like what you're feeling now.

Also, you do realize the show is already fully written/completed and filmed, right? They don't write each episode each week after reading the MDL comment thread.
