I believe it's in one of the later episodes. I'll see if I can find it.

Can you describe the incident please and/or give me an idea of at what point it occurred in the series? I don't recall such an incident at all. To verify...you are saying that Tharn f**ked Type while he was passed out, correct? Wow...I'm pretty sure I would remember that.

Have you seen Waterboyy the series? Earth and another well-known BL actor whose name escapes me do a make-out scene on an outdoor stairwell that is truly epic. We are talking tongues, slobber, passion, the whole bit. I saw no awkwardness or hesitation on Earth's part, in fact I remember that kiss sort of leaving me breathless. I've long believed that actors who can't or won't kiss another dude with full commitment have no business being in a BL in the first place. There are plenty of straight projects they can audition for. As much love as there is between Tian and Chief, it's highly questionable as to why there's been no very natural and human expression of it to this point.

Who could have imagined we will have to beg for a kiss in Thai BL series, one day. This is by far the most matured…
Except we have to beg for kisses because the producers are apparently nervous or ashamed regarding the content of their own show.

Title A Tale of Thousand Stars Spoiler
As others say below, during this episode I kept thinking "OK, first of all, pushing your lover away and ending your relationship with them FOR THEIR OWN GOOD, without giving two f**ks as to what they think about it, is one of the oldest BL tropes ever." But this one was worse than usual because Chief keeps telling Tian that he should do what HE wants and follow HIS (torfun's) heart without regard to what others may think, while at the same time he is more or less forcing Tian to leave the village when STAYING at the village and teaching the kids and living with Chief is what Tian freaking wants! Ridiculous.

Then we also had Tian/Chief's touching, almost/confession scene on the hospital lawn, during which it was made clear how deeply Chief cares for Tian. Then Tian overhears Chief/Dad in the hallway and immediately assumes the worst, starts pouting and giving Chief the cold shoulder as if the tender words on the lawn were never spoken. Lazy writing! Do BL writers even go over what they've already written before moving on to the next scene?

Also, the other trope on full display here was that living out your life as a corporate automaton in a nameless, faceless huge city is automatically deemed a "successful" life, as opposed to some other situation that feeds your heart and soul.

Why did it feel like nothing happened in this episode when something big actually happened? ತ_ತ
Because the writing and direction is god-awful.

haha

How many millions of people were watching this drama, and how many thousands got it canceled? I have zero respect…
You continue to talk as if all Koreans think in the same way and hold the same attitudes and opinions, which they obviously don't. I never said anything about the U.S. being an awesome place. My first post described it as a disaster zone. You're responding to all kinds of BS I never said. And yes, there have been MANY Hollywood films over the years highlighting American atrocities, war crimes, the lies that went into the Iraq War, etc. And I am no big fan of Hollywood, but what I say is true. MANY films. Who said ANY country is perfect? Where are you getting this stuff?

ANY "royal family" is useless, I don't care where it is, and I have my right to that opinion regardless of where I live, as do you. I can think of two movies off the top of my head where the U.S. president turned out to be downright evil and a plant from another country. There were no boycotts or calls for its censorship.

You say Koreans take great pride in their culture. I respond that Koreans appear to be very insecure about the content and quality of their culture. So insecure that any portrayal that doesn't faun over its glory and honor is deemed a threat that must be silenced. Cultures that are secure in what they are, just like people, don't give two shits about some television series that shows a Chinese bowl where some people don't think it belongs. lol

Don't forget South Korea has the highest rate of suicide in the developed world. What a nightmare of a society…
Yian Ji, I was kind of a USA brain-washed hive-minder until about the age of 12 when the Vietnam War reached its disastrous peak, the police were beating protesters bloody in the streets and we got the whole Nixon/Watergate scandal. Yes, I am really old. At that time I began to think "hmmm...wait a minute, how much of what I've been taught is bullshit?" I've been a cynic ever since, and over the last 25 years have completely lost any feeling of patriotism for this country over any other.

The Iraq War was a lie that killed and maimed hundreds of thousands of people, the US public went along with it, Democrats lost their spine and Republicans became downright evil. I stopped standing for the national anthem and wondering why displays of patriotism always included lots of guns and military hardware, even huge jet fighters flying over football stadiums before games. WTH does all that necessarily have to do with the reasons and principles this country was founded on? Add to that our horrible wealth inequality, low taxes on the rich, corporations paying no taxes, mass shootings every other week, and on and on and on...I consider myself a citizen of the world.

I would love to see that. It would be great if we discover that Shu Yi has gone ahead with his original plan to dupe She Di into thinking they're back together, string him along and then dump him for revenge. DRAMA! That would make all my whining about how bad this show is written worth the trouble. :D

I'm blaming everything on the dad. Even the hacking issues.
There are so many ways around that plot point, it's ridiculous. Don't forget She Di AGREED to terms with the dad even though he didn't believe the dad would live up to his end of the deal. How stupid is that?

WAY, WAYtoo soon. Maybe we will get a wonderful surprise next week and find out Shu Yi IS messing with She Di's mind and has not intention of taking him back. Awesome! :D

I enjoy the acting but the script is dumb. If my man ghosted me, I would move on, I would definitely not travel…
I find the side couple interesting too. They are such a match of opposites, and yet I feel chemistry. The fact that the cousin is so big and the aspergers dude is small adds to the dichotomy for me. Good casting.

Yeah, the main plot is exceedingly dumb, to the point of insulting. If Daddy was intercepting/blocking texts, call me stupid but couldn't you just set up a new account from another ISP and text/email from there? If Daddy took Su Yi's phone, couldn't he just buy another with his own money and Dad would never know about it, set up a new account and contact from there? Or like you said, thru mutual friends, or hell, send a written letter via post office, or a telegram, or a certified letter, or FB or IG or Twitter...? omg...it is so stupid. And not only is it dumb but they already wrapped it up and are moving on to corporate intrigue as the focus. I'm left feeling that Shu Yi has no self-respect and that She Di will do something equally horrible in the future. Someone who would pull what he did is simply not to be trusted.

I am all for forgiveness, that's a great thing. But you can forgive as you move on with an open heart to someone else worthy of your trust. Forgiveness doesn't mean you necessarily go back to the original source of your pain and betrayal.

And yes, the idea that sexy little Shu Yi would go dateless for five years, male or female, pining away for a man who treated him like shit, is just silly. I have an idea they could have used though: Shu Yi agrees to take She Di back IF he agrees to perform whatever sexual act Shu Yi wants, no matter how twisted, once a day for one year. THAT would bump up the ratings! :D

It's funny how the script is trying to shoe-horn in all these limp explanations for what happened with these silly little flash-back scenes. Shi De's mom was talking so fast when he left for the airport that it was comical, trying to fit in all the plot points about pregnancy, this, that and the other thing. When Shi De had to deliver the line about the pregnancy complication while keeping a straight face I almost laughed out loud. :D
Was kind of weird when he was leaving for the airport anyway, the mom had to catch up with him at the door. I guess he was about to leave without saying goodbye.

are you korean? if not then you don't have the right to tell koreans on what they should find offensive and what…
This argument is just plain stupid. "Koreans" do not all think, feel, believe, act, and respond in exactly the same way to anything. They are individual human beings, not a monolith. Korea is, for better or for worse, is recognized as an industrialized, modern country that trades and interacts with many other such countries. People outside Korea have every right in the world to have an opinion about stuff that goes on within that country.

It's really amazing that such a messed-up, psychologically-damaged society, full of prejudice, bigotry and twisted, far-right conservative beliefs somehow managed to produce the K-Pop industry, within which performers are often presented in highly sexualized, androgynous, gay-friendly staging, outfits and dance routines. They are expected to be sex objects on stage and sex-less off-stage. It's completely bonkers and it is no wonder so many "idols" take their own lives or are otherwise traumatized by working for the slave-driving production companies. Horrible.

Your long comment told me nothing I didn't already know. I just fundamentally disagree with your mindset. Who said no one should be "offended?" They can be offended all they want. It's when they act on their hurt fee-fees by keeping everybody else who wants to see a work of art from seeing it, that I have a major problem with it.

I'm a US citizen. As someone else said, there is an older movie called "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Killer." It was released, did OK at the theaters and went on to Netflix or whatever. Some people didn't like what they saw as disrespect but I don't recall that anyone tried to ban it. Abe Lincoln is the most universally revered U.S. President. By your logic, there should have been calls to ban the film. Most people just didn't see it at all and mostly didn't care.

Your comment about Ghandi just shows how primitive and tribal and uncivilized India still is. There's nothing you say that makes a case for banning or censoring works of art to protect the tender feelings of such morons. Yes, such a film would end up being withdrawn just because the makers and actors don't want to be killed. Is that how you think a functioning, modern society should operate?

I don't give a shit about idiot Catholics who sought to ban the Da Vinci code either. It's the same tribal, primitive sort of thinking. thankfully, it was shown in most places. I saw it and it was a good movie. I'm a Christian, but not Catholic and I lost no sleep over it. It's a freaking fictional film!

Stop using the term "Koreans" as though the entire population of Korea thinks and acts in exactly the same way. A very vocal minority got this drama canceled there, with plenty of help from the rich and powerful, especially the stupid royal family. Of what use are they to Korean society? Korea is no longer a monarchy so what are they there for? Same goes for the British monarchy. All these blood-suckers should be deposed and told to get a job.

For those of you who are pro-drunk acting, do we know if Yu got wasted for his drunk scene at the bar where he was alone and crying about Shi De? I mean, getting drunk to play drunk is an awesome and totally respectable form of METHOD acting after all, and I'm sure the drunk director and drunk actor Sam encouraged Yu to go for it with the booze, am I right?

I totally agree with you. Su Yi's plot to exact revenge on Shi De by pretending to reconcile then dump him would have been such a juicy, dramatic story line. Of course they could still end up together, but to wrap things up between them by the end of ep 3 this season and now they're all hunky-dory and we're on to corporate intrigue plots is a major missed opportunity.
