Does it have sad ending? Everyone is telling me they "heard" it is sad🧐
No, the ending is not sad. It is open with a positive note. But the episode is sad in parts and I would say it can make your heart ache. But you have to laugh in the first few minutes. If you watch the episode several times, the ending becomes more and more positive. At least that's how I felt.

I love to see how we are all pulling together in support and that the team from The On1y One, especially Dong Qin and Benjamin can see how much we appreciate them. Especially with the disproportionate hate they got, that must be a great feeling to see so many people signed up in 12 days to see their work continue....

I've never been to a fan meeting, but I think if we all got together with the team it would be a very warm event....

I've just checked, the uncut version of I Feel You Linger in the Air is at 8.9.

And yes, I think it will also be one of my extended favorites. Yin and War are great together. Sometimes you can also enjoy Red Flags 😉

Even though I've seen the old version, I only noticed War through his pottery videos. Could watch him do it for hours 😅

Ah I Feel You Linger in the Air. I should finish watching that. 🤭 I think I died off towards the end even though I liked it. Some other BL got in the way and I forgot to continue watching. But yes, well deserved, I'd say.

This is nothing compared to On1y One. I think someone should study the cult following. I have never seen something…
I think very few people have anything against intimate scenes. That's part of life. In my opinion, the fact that some people speak out against NC is more because they are worried about Dong Qin's future career, but not because they detest NC. But it can also be because series with perhaps flat storylines are hyped because of NC. I'm not referring to any particular one. I think all kinds of stories have their place. In my eyes, both sides also speak out against the fetishization of homosexuals, they just approach it from different angles. But the core is that both sides want well-told LGBTQIA+ stories that are not just about cute boys but about people from the community with their struggles and relationships. At least that's my perception in the specific case of The On1y One.

I personally enjoy the depth of the story. I enjoy the slowness because it is a balance to the rl for me. As I said, it matches one of my personal tastes. Just as Jack and Joker matches another gusto of mine.

In my eyes, though, The On1y One is in some ways a testing ground, as is Meet you at the blossom.

But I generally agree with you that for some in the genre it's about satisfying their fetishes. I realize that too. And that's why I think it's important to demand support for the community and draw attention to problems. The only question is whether I can broaden someone's perspective by accusing them of things or by pointing out the problems with facts. In my eyes, the important arguments don't manage to penetrate my counterpart if they are emotionally triggered. I think your approach with the example you gave is the better option. It's easier to get into an exchange that way.

I apologize for the very long explanation.

Thank you for your perspective and experiences.
I think the discussion here is mostly black and white. And I have to say, I find this comparison with altar boys, the church and Jesus kind of lame. Personally, I wouldn't have such positive things to say about the Catholic Church, which is why this comparison triggers me a little.

Perhaps the story could have been shortened. Certainly even. But I think you should look at the starting point and the target audience, and that was the readers of the novel. At the beginning there were comments from them that the story developed far too quickly (not to mention the excitement about the kiss in ep 2). So now we have two opposing sides. The director has decided on a target audience. I think the fact that it was well received by the international audience now was rather serendipitous. But if there is a second season, I think the target audience will be different from the current part. That might also make it a bit freer in its realization. (But I'm aware that it's not certain that it will happen)

But it's also a fact that the story is only half told and they won't be together until 15 chapters later. That would be 3 more episodes. If that's the case, shouldn't we rather criticize the source material? I can understand when people say: I judge what's there. But I'm more of the opinion that a complete judgment should only be made after the story has been fully told. Then, in my opinion, we can have a more informed discussion about whether and if so, to what extent homophobia is present in the work. Your suggestion of a movie with an open ending sounds interesting. However, I have the feeling that few people can appreciate open endings.

I have to say, I've now watched the reboot of Love Mechanics and liked it a lot. Even though I find the relationship portrayed unhealthy. I only knew the other version before and found it quite jumpy and rushed. But from the acting, script, editing and pacing I thought Love Mechanics 2022 was very well done and it's going on my rewatch list.

I like Jack and Joker and it makes me laugh, but I have to say that I also think the rating is too high compared to other BLs. As far as I know it is the highest rated? You could perhaps say other BLs deserve an even higher rating. If you put them on par with straight dramas (and you should). I really like Yin and War, but for the highest rated BL drama everything would have to be perfect for me and unfortunately the script is not for me and some side characters too. From what we've seen so far.

can confirm!! i dropped like 4 shows after the third ep because how great this masterpiece was and everything…
I feel the same way, I've mostly stopped watching the BLs I used to watch on the side until it was Wed/Thu and the occasional episodes I do watch somehow only satisfy me superficially.
It feels a bit like lovesickness 😅🫠

I read the news from the director of Addicted Heroin. But I think the case is different. On the one hand, the…
"I don't want him to be flamed by those toxic idiots."- I don't want that either.

I was surprised to see him in a BL at the beginning of the series, as I know him from other shows. But as the series progressed, I learned to trust Dong Qin and the director to make good decisions for him. For me, the creators are smart and they will find smart solutions. I also read here in the comments that there were some Chinese actors who played in BL and had a good career afterwards. Let's trust that and support Dong Qin from the outside in the best possible way.

Despite everything, I have to say that I can find fandoms in BL (and KPop) quite scary. They can do so much good, but unfortunately they can also bring a lot of bad on the artists.

I actually see the budget as a bigger problem right now and convincing investors. The IMDB rating is now at 9.8 unweighted and yet it's not officially going higher than 8.9. And the question is whether the votes count for the investors or the rating of 8.9. I hope they bring the link for the international fans to buy merch in a timely manner so that they can make a profit there.

Why march? Was there some declaration as to when the final decision will be made?
Oh, I feel your words very much. I also belong to the introverted and shy category and have invested a lot of time and courage to get to the point where I am. People who are new to me would basically describe me differently... (That sucks a lot of energy though)

And I agree with what you say about art and social media. I find social media to be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, it brings attention to works and artists that you wouldn't otherwise get to know, which is great. On the other hand, I think outgoing people benefit more from it. For example, I fail at trying to sell myself, even though I know I have talent. And I think the hurdle of showing yourself on social media and somehow entertaining people is particularly high for introverts. Ultimately, in the artistic field, you want your work to speak for itself and not have to post additional things in order to serve the algorithm or keep fans.

And Benjamin is suddenly in the spotlight. From 0 to 100. Internationally. You have to process that first, because it must feel irrational. It takes time to find a good and fair way of dealing with it. He deserves to be seen so much and with his talent he should already be an established, respected actor who can't save himself from role offers. I think it would be incredibly exciting to talk to him about his thoughts on interpreting the role. Instead, I saw a reel of him being asked at the fan meeting what Dong Qin's lips felt like. I was already overwhelmed by the question while watching because everyone in the room is staring at you and I wouldn't know what to expect. But I don't want to judge the question either... It was certainly meant in a positive way. My impression is that he is also very profound and has others in mind. Today, for example, he drew attention to Tim Cheng in his story and asked for support. In my opinion, he also did a really good job as Jia Hao, but is hardly noticed.

However, I have the hope and the impression that Benjamin's fans really see him as a person and give him the time he needs. Hopefully he will find a way of dealing with things that suits him. And I think with pat3liu and the rest of the cast, he also has the right support at his side.

I don't know but is there any problem to finish these types of step brothers dramas ? ( Stay with Me, Addicted,…
This has nothing to do with the stepbrother issue. Stay with me and Addicted were Chinese.
Here, 60 out of 112 chapters of the novel were filmed. I think that has more to do with the fact that the director wanted to keep to the pace of the novel as much as possible and didn't want to rush to the end. I could imagine that the director had planned 2 seasons from the beginning. But apparently Taiwanese BL are low-value by the platforms.

Humor is a tricky thing, because it doesn't resonate with everyone the same. What some people find funny, others…
Yes, that was me. At first it just reminded me of something and since the 2nd episode I thought it was like Batman back then. I loved the series and it still has cult status with me today. At first I thought about whether I could even mention this comparison here, because many people here are discussing the seriousness of it. I also originally expected a rather serious, dark side with mind games. But I just like the fact that there is a series that can produce such slapstick humor. I really missed that.

You are simply not drawing the right conclusions. In The On1y One, only half the story has been told, because it follows the pace of the novel. Filmed chapter 60 of 112. 52 chapters remain for a possible 2nd season.
I find it frightening how homophobia is trivialized by such statements.

Oh, I didn't even notice the comments... But the question is also who is commenting like that, it's probably the same people who want to provoke here. It seems to frustrate them deeply that many people don't share their opinion.

To accuse someone of being homophobic because you like The On1y One is just a provocative attack to make yourself feel better without an argument. If there is an argument, you can counter it objectively. I find it kind of scary how flippantly something is labeled homophobic because, in my eyes, it trivializes the severity of homophobic acts.

I can understand certain arguments that have been made in the comments here and I think that this criticism can be put to rest with a second season. Which is why the 2nd season is all the more important to be able to form an overall opinion.

Did you guys saw the News about addicted heroine Thai ver 👀 The director said because of too much negative…
I read the news from the director of Addicted Heroin. But I think the case is different. On the one hand, the age/age cap of the couple is criticized there because many expected the story to be realized in the same way as in the first version, which it was not. This, in turn, disappointed many because the version was too soft for them. The third group is disappointed with the editing because it is chaotic, omits scenes and the uncut version is 15 minutes longer with scenes relevant to the storytelling. With The On1y One, there is the Douban-rating group (I'll call them that) who devalue the drama and perhaps a slightly larger group who are a little frustrated with the ending. The group whose taste does not like the drama when watching it seems quite small to me... In terms of editing, storytelling and acting, it is highly appreciated and praised. The acting is also praised by those who don't necessarily like the drama. Pat3liu and the actors I think already get that they are very much appreciated. Especially internationally, and the petition makes that very clear once again. (I don't know if he can see where the signatures are coming from, but it would be nice). So try to be optimistic :)
