Yeah, I had a whole 8 mile thread on this topic yesterday.
right. some other commenter mentioned she said so "when she hugged her from behind" but I must have been drowsy then and missed the moment. So I was not sure until that answer in comments.

Only, that ride was very short and finally what was the purpose of it ? It is one of the small gripes I have about…
that could make sense. Ok then.

I would love to see that but I don’t think so, as no news. This drama really didn’t do justice to MXD and…
did not he have a car in Suzhou ? I was under that impression...
So the motorcycle was ??? for me. Besides, is it that easy to ride & navigate an unfamiliar route on a Harley Davidson bought on a whim, for someone who is just used to bicycles? In China, motorcycles are not allowed to drive on some roads or motorroads reserved for 4 wheel vehicles... It lacks consistency, when there are loads of cheap taxis about (China is not like Finland where, yes, taxis all the time are over the top). The only purpose I saw was doing a commercial for Harley Davidson, just as, in Finland, the bike part was ad for Insera city bike. (But more natural, since bikes are indeed used and Wu Lei happens to be really skilled at riding bicycles).
So purchasing that motorbike just for impressing YG and taking her out one night to feel the the trill (much later, after his impulse purchase) seemed like overkill and inconsistent with the thrifty character. If he had money to burn, there were better ways, no? Bad role model.
Am I nitpicking?

Ah well, forget it. As long as you overlooked all that and liked the drama, why not... Leilei and Maimai sure looked good together on screen.

Thank you for explanation. I suppose I could have done my homework to find out about it on the way, but I am one of the lazy drama watchers lol

ok. For layman me, I've said my piece. If it was not a tutorial, then, there should not either have been so much of it : there was way too much screen time, imo, for the non specialists.
It did disservice to the love story to dwell so much on it, apart from the sweet takes on dexterity.
Also since I'm at it : what was LYY's "old injury"? Did he get mugged or fell and had an accident, breaking shoulder blade (I've been through it, but it heals well, don't suffer from it now, almost forgot it's one of the many bones I broke over the years!) .
Was it shoulder tendonitis, or a displaced vertebra ?
Or did he suffer from the rare but excruciatingly painful "frozen shoulder" syndrome that nothing can be done for satisfactorily except wait up till 2 years that it heals of own accord (been through it too: Western or CTM did not help in my case but now, it's only a memory of a time where I exercised in patience, and scoffing at pain in the "burning phase" for the benefits of those who can't feel it with a face looking like panda for lack of sleep. It was much more painful than walking on a broken foot, or going through dental surgery!)
I thought the "old injury" mention was also not very well introduced.

ok, I missed it then.
I still feel there was a lack of purpose shown in the return to Helsinki in ep.30 and that it was too choppy ending. They were not going to live in that apartment, since we did not see them enjoy time there, but out in bar and billiard room... So why? repairs? renting it out? selling it ?
Anyway, small gripes.
Pretty pair.

A song from My Boss, c-drama with Chen Xingxu and Zhang Ruonan.

Quite watchable despite not a masterpiece, imo. I was griping in the beginning, was going along with the flow after a while, rushed ending and no wedding scene but the one that was cut was too rubbish, so the choice to cut it was wise.

Love and Shine ... I don't know for Spotify, but you have the two versions by Daniel Zhou Keyu and by Wu Lei on YouTube, thanks to Peachey Blossom.

looking for it bc that was one of the loose threads that finally got me frowning. Did we ever get the results of the test, btw?

The moment they rode on that bike at the end of epi 27, I literary cried. The best moment of the drama for me.Someday…
Only, that ride was very short and finally what was the purpose of it ?
It is one of the small gripes I have about the plot and story.

Liked the chemistry (Wu Lei and Zhao Jinmai look good; i liked them before so was looking forward to their romance in the snows) The pace was fine by me to begin with, but somehow, my attention got disconnected by repetitiousness, draggy dialogue, and loose threads left hanging that needed to be tied up but never were. Especially in those six last episodes.

Yes we know he purchased the apartment, but why were they hanging out in billiards bars and jazz bar in the end, why did they travel back ? What happened to the test he went out for? Why was Jiang Yang there, was his wife a Finn? And MXD?
The teary eyed ring giving on floating (?) backdrop of pool was not very natural. And although it was nice to squeeze in Wu Lei acting as if he plays the guitar and perhaps have him cover a snippet of song, so we got to hear his song voice, that too felt pasted on, to me.
So: not satisfied by the choppy ending.

I need a drink to ease frustration before switching to something else. The beginning of AASOL is re-watchable, perhaps, up to playing in mountains and by lake, and despite too much shyness and staring, maybe all the way to LYY restrained tears at the funeral and his taking over the club. But the end spoiled it for me. The latter half is let's say forgettable. Debated whether to down-rate from initial 10 to 7.5, but since 7.5 is harsh from me, I will leniently leave an 8. Because of WL & ZJM's sweet faces and acting.

yes there were a few loose threads.
I am not sure we got the results of the test LYY went out to buy for YG and did we get to know who was the wife of Jiang Yang, that he has such a big child in last episode, also what happened to parent, brother, half sister... No betrothal or wedding banquet? Why were they back in Helsinki ? What was the purpose of the motorcycle?
The story felt a bit choppy in the end, but the sweet scenes were good.
I felt the billiards ones were somewhat too numerous and protracted, though. Looking at balls rolling on the table may be thrilling for those who practice the sports, but we did not get much introduction to the variations and I only perked up when the orange ball rolled to touch the white one, or the red ones aligned to draw the nice design. ... I did feel my attention flag a few times from over-repeated scenes and dragging dialogue. Mostly in last six episodes.

Peachey Blossom posted on Youtube translations and lyrics Hanzi and pinyin for the songs in Chinese and lyrics for the English songs (including the two versions of Love and Shine by original singer, young 21 years old "Daniel" Zhou Keyu (formerly from INTO1- short bio and drama appearances on https://kisskh.at/people/29547-daniel-zhou), and by Wu Lei, performed in last episode).

It would be batter if last scene cast by He Lan Dou (Princess Yang Ying) not Chen Hao Yu (Chu Yue)
I shouldn't even bother answering ...
I found all of your sentences except last line in your post, negative, rude and condescending in answer to me. Or maybe so lacking in language skills ("dotes"...) that they come off like that ? My feeling while reading your post was:

What gives you the right to start lecturing me with 1. 2. ... ? without spoiler tags and in extraordinarily conceited manner, as if you had a right to teach lessons and you are God, knowing the ultimate recipe to craft a drama vs a novel (there's none here, btw)..
You are not even showing the drama in your watchlist.
So I won't do you the courtesy of hiding my reaction under spoiler tag, either.... Goodbye to you : maybe your intention was not the one I read, but if I got the wrong meaning, do brush up on EQ for communication, philosophy, and spelling, first.

ps when discussing a key point, mentioning characters and cast, "spoiler tag" is a courtesy to new audience, don't you know?

Yi Yang is a Valentine material
Happy Valentines Day! (one of the 3-4 "love days" of China, you surely know Qixi, there's also May 20 (wu-er-ling "wo ai ni" code). YouTube has a fun compilation of sweet couples in short video. Find out if you know them all :

On Amidst a Snowstorm of Love Feb 14, 2024
Oh yes : the fast track is out, and those who can't get it directly from WeTV still can access it from kiss. Nice. I'll finish it by tonight then.
Pondering what to watch next already, sigh. I will probably miss the lovely couple. Oh well, there still are dramas I have not watched from both, so perhaps will go on doing a marathon of Wu Lei movies and dramas, and Zhang Jingmai ones, to get perfectly up to date when next item lands from them.

When they first met abroad, the ML was 27, the FL 21 (six-year age difference), and he mentioned that his younger…
We don't know his family up in time, but there were many exceptions to one child policy, so the parents could come under one. Like of course having twins, or being from the countryside with a daughter as elder child, or having a handicapped child, or being divorced and marrying someone with no children, or being stationed for a period in the Xinjiang or some parts of Sichuan, even abroad if I remember well, being of minority exempted from one child policy (most minority couples only complied with city policies to receive bonuses) : if one was of minority, it did the trick, or if the parents were from one child family themselves. Or just accepting to pay the fine labeled as "social maintenance fee" (that only worked for wealthy families, but I've seen quite a few who had more children that way with no twins.
From the end of the 1990s there were more and more families with two children, but also more and more with no children at all which started to be alarming enough in the 2000-2010s that the policy was repealed, first accepting two, then almost immediately three, and since it did not work to prevent the plunging birth rates, no restrictions any longer.
Still, China sees its birth rates continue sinking under negative growth, but unless incentives now are introduced, even in a Dragon year, it's likely birth rates won't really soar up from negatives.
Therefore, those who are courageous enough to procreate are no longer being prevented despite still standing encouragement of birth control and birth permits : the latter are simply waived.
Example: Zhang Bichen the singer is a single mom who decided not to involve and even inform the dad (pop singer "Martian" Hua Chenyu) that he had a daughter, until much later ; they take care of the child, Hua Chenyu contributes, and they don't plan to marry, since they are not any longer in a romantic relationship.... Modern families.
Despite the "scandal", "as a pioneering and talented musician with a vast fan base in China , Chenyu Hua enjoys a massive follower base of over 6.5 million within NetEase Cloud Music.Jan 2, 2023" and you can listen to Zhang Bichen's latest song "Like Before" for Legend of Shenli, just released. Look up Peachey Blossom's channel. The "situation" has not affected her much ! :)

That's also why our Yin Guo once told LYY that she was thinking they could just not marry and stay secretly (or openly) together anyway. Weddings are formalizing but not any longer absolutely required. And it's absolutely true that a family wedding party could be held before getting legal documents.
