#86 is broken -- I had started clicking on that one bc used to follow auteur Jia Zhangke's movies since he started... so was curious to refresh my memory with the song. But this December YouTube is treating us by taking down a number of videos! playlists of Jay Chou, MVs with enrichment (lyrics, pinyin, translations)... So annoying. #82.1 ; #72 ; #67 ; #64 ; #45 too - #43 Weiyi de guang (Hello the Sharpshooter, one tune that I like a lot, is absent from the video, where LYN mentions it but the rest is just a teaser with no music!) #17 the Weibo link does not open.
I was happy that you loved AJTL (I gave it a frank 10 here, enthused from beginning to end). End of year being very busy, and having had to travel for duty, I have very little time for dramas, so am putting on hold what I had started, and only went back to tweak some more into the illustrated Discussion I had started about characters, cast, and music of that beautiful drama. I had a look at your own page which is very nicely illustrated. Admiring your GIF of cast as a ring, all looking down into the well... How did you do that one? And impressed by your dedication to Ning's songs (I will go on checking links and advise if I notice other broken ones).

You are right about subtitles on MGTV, sometimes they look like Klingon!! A subtle way perhaps to push for learning enough putonghua to struggle through (with help from the Hanzi subs if necessary?) But I agree that's not for all foreigners who have not brushed enough with Chinese language or who have no interest, time, and willpower to learn foreign languages very far removed from their own... I am also annoyed when I stumble across geoblocked items although I have as I do, been in good faith subscribing to Viki, iQiyi, WeTV, Youku. Why Malaysia should be geoblocked for Viki is beyond me! I was crueler than you. ;-) despite spending much time then doing a piece on the music and a short Profile of JC-T. He has done better acting than in that pale and forgettable item, but it was not his fault : his singing was of course impeccable. Zhou Ye's character and acting it irritated me to the other side of the moon.

I had started on Last Immortal, that looks nice but not that meaty ; and Derailment, the beginning of which was rather thrilling, but am not sure if I will have time to watch much more c-drama in the next two weeks. A solid 10 for me. I am too tired to write reviews, so leaving only the companion piece in Discussions which I tried hard not to let get spoiler, only help in shedding some light for newcomers to the genre. A family member passed last night in the Jiangnan, so we are gearing up to fly tonight, over the thousands of miles to go to the funeral, while juggling other difficult things. This year ends in mourning. Reality takes over from fiction, where we can hail the fallen in their struggle, those who were expected to, and those who were not. The only thing that is sure in life is that it will come to an end and that pain is unavoidable at some point(s). All the rest is to find comfort and hope that ends are not totally final. The believers may think about paradise or reincarnation for other thrilling life ; the atheists will think about the scientists take on it, who point out that the atoms after destruction of mortal envelope will get back circling the planet after transformation to earth or dust : there will indeed always be something remaining around those who stay alive. Memories and memorials, monuments will fade and disappear, but the atoms will be around. Wishing the best in this life to cast and crew, awesome and remarkable artists and the many who helped in small parts, and to all who loved this drama and will carry on its memory as one of the finest they spent time on.

16 songs now on that new playlist of the songs by others that he picked and covered for a change: looking forward to them! A helpful soul put in titles and timestamps in comments. LYN talks a lot too, and it is only a pity that it is not subtitled for those who don't understand his comments and jokes
What a ride! This was hands up best wuxia of the year for me. 6 episodes to go, still; almost can't wait till Christmas for the end. The leads and story grew better and better at each eventful episode. Liu Yuning was amazing, Liu Shishi hieratical, Chang Huasen arresting, He Landou grew from random kitten to resolute power... all the cast was good. The story is excellent, plot is thrilling. Don't be deterred by the churlish ones who dislike LYN's unusual face and resent he is as good an actor as he is an independent minded person and musician, and jealous that AJTL is "stealing top spots" in viewership! Don't dampen your pleasure by their snide remarks, there is no moment when story lags. Those who ff (fkfk) stupidly because they "don't like this and that" just miss out on the greatest wuxia of the year. It has grown to LLTG level, for those who enjoyed the thrills then, and also were so hooked that pauses in airing felt painful! Can't put in emojis with my machine, otherwise I would put it a whole line of fire and hearts !!
